About 3 Minute Oven Cleaner
3 Minute Oven cleaner claims to use a heavy duty, non-toxic formula to instantly dissolve food and grease from any oven in just 3 minutes. On top of this, 3 Minute Oven Cleaner is claimed to accomplish it without harsh chemicals, fumes, or smelly odors, making it safe for your entire family.
In fact, the manufacturer claims that 3 Minute Oven Cleaner is so safe you don’t even need to use gloves. Simply apply to your worst mess and wipe away after 3 minutes.
Because of this, 3 Minute Oven Cleaner is claimed to be ideal for cleaning anything in your oven, whether it’s a to wipe up a recent spill, or for deep cleaning that’s fast and easy
If you’ve ever cleaned an oven before, whether using a product like 3 Minute Oven Cleaner or your oven’s self-cleaning feature, you know what a messy, toxic process it can be. But can 3 Minute Oven Cleaner put an end to this and give you “a sparkling clean oven in only 3 minutes?” Consider the following:
Will 3 Minute Oven Cleaner Really Work?
Without knowing exactly which ingredients 3 Minute Oven Cleaner contains, it’s impossible to say. However, many of the harsher oven cleaner brands contain corrosive alkalis, which can cause breathing problems, skin irritation, and more, as well as other harsh ingredients such as sodium hydroxide (caustic soda).
As such, we might assume that 3 Minute Oven Cleaner doesn’t contain ingredients such as these, but as far as the ingredients it does contain, we can’t be sure without viewing a product label.
And although 3 Minute Oven Cleaner claims to work with any oven, there’s no mention of whether or not it contains any abrasives, which are not suitable for the porcelain finish generally found in self-cleaning models.
According to Ovenu.co.uk though, oven cleaning products that don’t use these ingredients often feature surfactants instead, which “lower the surface tension (or interfacial tension) between two liquids or between a liquid and a solid.”
However, this article makes a point of noting that, “Oven cleaning products containing these ingredients will generally be more limited in effect and will take longer to work.”
Is 3 Minute Oven Cleaner Really Non-Toxic?
Again, without knowing exactly which ingredients 3 Minute Oven cleaner contains, there’s no way to be sure.
Even if it’s non-toxic though, according to the front of the label, it is an eye irritant. As such, it’s shouldn’t be considered completely safe for your entire family, and must be used and stored carefully.
Other Oven Cleaning Options
Next, keep in mind that there are hundreds of oven cleaning products available in the marketplace, including ones that don’t produce fumes, are free of harsh chemicals, and that don’t require gloves to use. To see for yourself, type the phrase “quick oven cleaner” or “natural oven cleaner” in your favorite search engine.
But the truth is that these types of oven cleaners are so popular that you may not need to order one online. Instead, you can almost certainly find one at a local retailer, often for less than 3 Minute Oven Cleaner, considering its high, non-refundable S&H charges (more about this in the Pricing section).
In fact, you can even create your own oven cleaner using common ingredients found around the house, which might be the ultimate money-saver (although they may be the least effective).
Customer Feedback for 3 Minute Oven Cleaner
Because 3 Minute Oven Cleaner was a brand new product at the time of our research, no online customer reviews were available.
However, 3 Minute Oven Cleaner is manufactured by “As Seen on TV” juggernaut Telebrands Corp based out of Fairfield, NJ, who makes dozens of popular ASOTV products such as Ankle Genie, Pocket Hose Ultra, Hurricane 360 Spin Mop, and more.
With hundreds of HighYa reader reviews, these products had an average rating of just 2 stars, with common complaints revolving around products that don’t work as advertised, poor quality, and difficult customer service experiences (e.g. difficulty processing returns/refunds, rude personnel, etc.).
Granted, you may not experience any of this with 3 Minute Oven Cleaner, although it’s certainly worth mentioning.
From a company standpoint, Telebrands had a C rating with the Better Business Bureau (up from an F a few months ago) based on 1,240 closed complaints, 1,068 of which where the customer was dissatisfied with the company’s response (as of 7/1/15). Many of these reference the same concerns noted above.
In fact, Telebrands’s BBB accreditation was revoked due to the volume and consistency of their customer complaints, and the company was investigated by the NJ State Attorney General in 2014 for violating the Consumer Fraud Act.
