Focus T25 Challenge Week 3: What We Didn’t See Coming

With weeks 1 and 2 of our Focus T25 Challenge behind us, our participants have now settled into a groove, and are figuring out what the program’s all about—and how they fit into it. And while some of the trends were easy to foresee, there’s been at least one change that we didn’t see coming.

With this in mind, let’s find out how our participants are doing in week 3.

Test Subject #1

Now that you’re on the third week, are the routines easier to complete?
It’s still hard for me to follow everything Sean T is doing. However, it looks like it’s hard for the people in the video as well, so to get to their level, I think it will take time. Even then, if you push yourself 100% like they do, it will still be hard.

Can you do the regular routines yet, or are you still doing the modified versions?
I do both, and switch back and forth. But I always start out following Sean T.

How much weight did you lose this week?
6 pounds.

How much total weight did you lose so far?
6 pounds.

Have you experienced any noticeable results from the Focust T-25 System?
I do feel stronger, but nothing too different from last week.

Do you feel like you’ve made progress after three weeks?
Yes, I’m starting to lose weight. And to me, that’s the most important thing.

Is there anything that you really like about Focus T25?
I like that it’s a 10-week program, so I know I can’t just quit in the middle when it gets hard for me.

Is there anything that you really don’t like about Focus T25?
The moves are confusing to me, and I sometimes find myself not being able to keep up.

Do you notice any benefits in your life as result of Focus T25?
Yes, I tend to pay closer attention to what I eat, because I don’t want my work out to be pointless. I feel like I have a personal trainer.

Daily Breakdown:

Day 1 – Total Body Circuit: This workout is very hard. I was happy it was on Monday, so I can get it over with the first thing during the week.

Day 2 – Speed 1.0: I barely made it today. I didn’t sleep last night and was very tired as a result. It’s my favorite workout because there are breaks in between. However, the moves go so fast, and I just don’t understand how to move my body like that.

Day 3 – Lower Focus: All your energy goes into your lower body, so it’s very hard. I have to stop now and then to catch my breath.

Day 4 – Cardio: You get a good sweat, and move the whole time.

Day 5 – Total Body Circuit: This is the one that makes me want to cry almost every time (if I am really trying to follow it). I have to stop a lot, or if I just keep moving, it’s hard to keep up with them.

Day 6 – Stretch: Of course, this is my favorite exercise. After I’m done with the program, I would like to start each morning with this one. I feel good after a good stretch, and I feel like I get in a good work out.

Test Subject #2

Now that you’re on the third week, are the routines easier to complete?
Yes they are. This week is easier for me.

Can you do the regular routines yet, or are you still doing the modified versions?
I do more of the regular routines, and much less of the modified versions.

How much weight did you lose this week?
I didn’t lose any weight this week.

How much total weight did you lose so far?
4 pounds.

Have you experienced any noticeable results from the Focust T25 System?
Yes, my thighs are much harder, my arms have better shape, and my whole body looks fit when viewed from the side.

Do you feel like you’ve made progress after three weeks?
Yes, I noticed lifting things throughout the day is much easier. I feel like I learned to squat when I lift, and to use the new muscles I have.

Is there anything that you really like about Focus T25?
I feel less worried. I feel like I can trust the program, and that I will get results in the end.

Is there anything that you really don’t like about Focus T25?
I feel like they don’t focus on abs enough. Even when the abs video does come up it’s optional, so I don’t feel like I have to do it because of that.

Do you notice any benefits in your life as result of Focus T25?
Because it’s a program that I have to follow, I’m learning more discipline. It makes me feel like there are just some things I have to do without making excuses.

Daily Breakdown:

Day 1 – Total Body Circuit: I broke a huge sweat and it felt great.  Because I was hungry, it was easier for me to do it (as opposed to being full).

Day 2 – Speed 1.0: This is my favorite workout. I nailed it.

Day 3 – Lower Focus: It’s hard, but I feel results. I can almost do it fully without following the modified workout.

Day 4 – Cardio: I feel like I sweat a lot during cardio. It’s the fastest-moving video of them all.

Day 5 – Total body Circuit: This one is the hardest and the most tiring for me.

Day 6 – Stretching: I feel like it’s a good video, because I would never stretch this hard on my own.

What’s the Bottom Line on the Focus T25 Challenge Week 3?

As we mentioned last week, the most common complaint our participants cited about Focus T25 is that it’s actually a 6-day per week program, despite being advertised as 5-days. While this may have initially presented an issue, now that we’re in week 3, it appears that both participants actually enjoy this sixth day, with one even stating that it’s their favorite workout of the week.

From a weight loss perspective, there appears to have been a flip-flop from week 2, with Participant #1 losing 6 pounds, while Participant #2 didn’t lose any (see our week 4 report for additional insights about weight loss with the T25 program). However, both participants are finding the regular workouts increasingly easier to do, and are relying less and less on the modified versions. And perhaps most importantly, both are learning that focus and discipline is key, not only to success during the T25 program, but long after it’s complete as well.
