About BellyTrim XP by BioTrust
BellyTrim XP By BioTrust promises to use a blend of synergistic nutrients and fatty acid complexes to help you burn off unwanted stomach fat, without losing muscle. All you have to do is take two BellyTrim XP softgels with breakfast and another two with dinner, and the company tells us you should expect to see results within 30 days—with more pronounced effects the longer the supplement is used.
Compared to other weight loss supplements, BellyTrim XP claims to use a “science-backed formula based on peer-reviewed research,” which means you’ll only get the right ingredients in the right dosages. The company states BellyTrim XP is also free of caffeine and other stimulants, along with artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors, or preservatives.
Finally, all of BioTrust’s supplements are third-party tested to ensure they contain exactly what’s listed on the bottle, so they’re “considered safe and extremely effective for nearly everyone.”
Whether you’ve been around the block a few times or this is your first weight loss supplement purchase, you’re here because you wan to know if BellyTrim XP by BioTrust is worthy of your money, or if you should keep looking.
Let’s start answering all your questions by talking about the underlying cause of weight gain.
What Makes You Gain Weight?
Admittedly, weight gain is a massive topic—one that we can’t even hope to fully cover in this section. In a nutshell though, putting on pounds is generally a result of consuming more calories that your body expends as energy.
Once this happens, your body will naturally store this unused energy inside fat cells for later use. In turn, these fat cells are mostly stored underneath the skin (especially around the belly for men and the hips and buttocks for women), although they can also be stored in and around other areas like the kidneys, liver, and muscles.
Obviously, the problem is that high-calorie, low nutrient foods are incredibly delicious and can be found just about anywhere you look, making it easy to put on weight. On the other hand, you have to cut your calorie intake by about 25% (500 calories per day) just to lose one pound per week! Needless to say, it’s a ton of work.
Will BellyTrim XP’s ingredients provide you with the boost you need to meet your weight loss goals, though?
What Ingredients Does BellyTrim XP Contain? Are They Effective?
BellyTrim XP’s label. Image credit: biotrust.com.
Based on BellyTrim XP’s label, the supplement contains the following “high-quality, exotic ingredients”:
- CLA 80% oil (from Safflower Oil) 1,500mg
- Conjugated lineolic acid (CLA) 1,200mg
- cis-9, trans-11 isomer 570mg
- trans-10, cis-12 isomer 570mg
- other isomers 60mg
- Pomegranate See Oil (cold-pressed virgin oil)(standardized for 70% Punicic Acid) 400mg
- BioPerine 5mg
Linoleic acid is a type of essential omega-6 fatty acid commonly found in nuts, some seeds, as well as vegetable oils. When certain linoleic acid isomers mix together, they create conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which may help reduce blood pressure and decrease body fat.
Interestingly, while CLA has been shown to reduce fat, there isn’t enough clinical evidence to “prove” that it can also help decrease body weight, decrease BMI, or prevent weight gain.
Pro tip: Whether you’re taking a supplement or performing specific exercises, the reality is that—with the exception of liposuction—you can’t target fat loss in one area of your body. So, we think this undermines BioTrust’s claim that BellyTrim XP will target stomach fat.
Furthermore, while pomegranate contains high levels of antioxidants, there isn’t sufficient clinical evidence showing it can help you lose weight. BioPerine is a proprietary ingredient that supposedly helps other ingredients work better, but won’t provide any weight loss benefits itself.
Will You Experience Side Effects with BellyTrim XP?
While omega 6 fatty acids in general are required for a healthy human body, too much (more than 5% to 10% of your daily calories) can increase triglycerides and raise your chances of things like heart disease, some types of cancer, and more.
As always, be sure to speak with your doctor before beginning any new supplement.
How Much Does BellyTrim XP Cost?
BellyTrim XP is available in the following quantities:
- 1 Bottle (120 softgels): $49
- 3 Bottles: $132
- 6 Bottles: $234
Regardless of the amount you purchase, every order comes with a free copy of The 3 Week Diet and 53 Fat Burning Smoothies.
Unlike many of the other weight loss supplements we’ve reviewed, BioTrust doesn’t enroll customers in any kind of autoship program after ordering BellyTrim XP. The supplement also comes with a 1-year money back guarantee, less return S&H charges, which you can request by calling 800-766-5086.
BellyTrim XP Reviews: What Kinds of Results Are Customers Experiencing?
On Amazon, BellyTrim XP had an average rating of 3.2 stars at the time of our research, based on 13 individual reviews. There, the most common compliment referenced visible weight reduction, while most complaints referenced failure to work.
Outside of this, at the time of our research, per our observation, we didn’t encounter any non-affiliate reviews for BellyTrim XP. (Based on our experience, it is our opinion that affiliate reviews are seldom legitimate.)
From a company perspective, BioTrust Nutrition is based out of Austin, TX, has been in business since 2012, and manufactures several other supplements including Brain Bright, Metabo379, and more. Here on HighYa, the company and their products seem to have a middle-of-the-road reputation, with most of the same complaints and compliments noted above.
BioTrust also had an A+ Better Business Bureau rating, with 40 closed complaints (as of 7/5/16). Most of these seemed to reference difficulty obtaining refunds. Let’s carry this thought over as we reach our bottom line about BellyTrim XP.
How Much Value Will BellyTrim XP by BioTrust Provide?
Although price is always a factor in any purchase, most of us would likely be happy to pay more for a higher quality product that works better and lasts longer. In other words, something that provides a greater amount of value.
However, considering that you can purchase CLA supplements from local and online retailers for as little as $15, did we uncover anything indicating that paying more than 3X for BellyTrim XP will provide more value for your money? In short, no.
We did learn some clinical research indicates that CLA might be helpful for reducing fat, but not necessarily for losing weight or decreasing BMI. And based on BellyTrim XP’s label, it doesn’t seem to contain any ingredients that would make it work differently or provide better results than other CLA supplements.
As if all of this wasn’t enough, even if CLA was shown to help individuals lose weight, it wouldn’t be just around the belly—since spot fat loss is a marketing myth.
Taking these factors into consideration, we’re not saying conclusively that you won’t lose weight with BellyTrim XP. After all, your metabolism and overall biology are unique, so what works fantastically for you might be a total flop for someone else.
So, if you feel like giving BellyTrim XP a try, BioTrust seems to stand behind the supplement with a 1-year money back guarantee. Just keep in mind that one of the most common customer complaints here on HighYa is difficulty obtaining refunds, so the process might not go quite as smoothly as you’re expecting. Whenever there’s a problem though, the company seems to respond quickly.
