About Big Vision Eyewear

Big Vision Eyewear is a pair of unisex glasses claimed to magnify up to 200%, without a prescription. In addition, Big Vision Eyewear is claimed to have a 120-degree field of vision without any distortion, to provide a one-size fits all solution, and can be worn instead of (or even over) other glasses.

But is Big Vision Eyewear an inexpensive way to clearly see your surroundings better? Let’s take a closer look at the fine print…

How Big Vision Eyewear Works

Big Vision Eyewear is not a set of prescription lenses; instead, they are magnifying eyewear. In other words, instead of helping you see more clearly, Big Vision Eyewear is essentially like wearing a pair of magnifying glasses. As such, it’s promised to provide 200% magnification to both eyes, as well as 120-degrees of vision, with no distortion.

Big Vision Eyewear is said to be big enough to fit over sunglasses or prescription glasses, while working to reduce eye strain and fatigue. They exclaim it will give your eyes the “boost” they need for reading prescription labels, smart phone keys, remote controls, or other items where the print is very small.

Big Vision Eyewear Pricing and Returns

Big Vision Eyewear is priced at $19.99 plus $7.99 S&H for a total of $27.98, and comes with carrying case and adjustable wired lanyard. But WAIT! They also offer a second pair for an additional $7.99 in shipping/handling fees. These fees are non-refundable, even if you return within the 30-day trial period.

Will the Big Vision Eyewear Improve Your Eyesight?

Big Vision Eyewear may indeed magnify things 200% as promised. However, it should be noted that these types of lenses, often referred to as over-the-counter reading glasses, won’t help with nearsightedness or farsightedness. Instead, they are primarily ideal for people over the age of 40 whose vision has naturally begun to blur, a condition known as presbyopia (or “old age”).

Magnifying eyewear like Big Vision Eyewear is generally considered safe, so long as it’s not being used in front of the computer and only for limited amounts of time. However, even with magnifying eyewear, it’s generally recommended that you choose a pair according to your vision needs, since stronger magnification doesn’t necessarily translate to better results. With this in mind, Big Vision Eyewear comes in only one strength, so it may not be comfortable for everyone.

Also, if you do purchase Big Vision Eyewear, the website’s Privacy Policy allows them to solicit you via telephone, email, and/or regular mail with other goods or services, as well as to give this information to third parties.

If you wear Big Vision Eyewear and you start experiencing headaches, stop using them. It is recommended you get your eyesight checked regularly, regardless.

Surprised by all of the negative reviews

I agree with a few of the other reviewers who gave favorable reviews. I have had my Big Vision glasses for nearly a year now and they have been great. I don't use them everyday, but when I'm doing close-up work (i.e. threading a needle, using tweezers on a splinter, building my 3D metal models, etc) I use them with my Rx glasses on as well, but with the Big Vision glasses at the tip of my nose as stated in the instructions). Gives me a much better focus on small items. Mine still feel sturdy and are doing their job. One thing to note, for those who said they were blurry, I'm wondering if they're using them correctly. The promotional pictures show the glasses being worn at the bridge of the nose like typical glasses, but the instructions clearly show wearing them at the tip of the nose. I've had amazing luck with mine. I purchased my pair at a local drug store.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    The Negative Reveiws Are Wrong

    • Lafayette, LA,
    • Jan 26, 2016

So many negative reviews pushed me to write mine. I knew before I purchased they would not take the place of actual vision wear. I had looked at the ads for a long time before I actually purchased. My mom also broke her pair with-in a couple of weeks. She is too rough with stuff. Respect your tools.

I have a pair by my chair where I sit to do things as I watch TV after work. I have a pair in my craft kit and I have a pair at work. I LOVE my Big Vision Eyewear. The are to ENHANCE the size of what you need to see for a period of time, not take the place of glasses. Common sense.

    Never again!

    • Elmont, NY,

Just bought a second pair in September to replace the first broken pair from August. I just put them on and once again the lens piece broke! No more wasting money.

    Big Vision is great.

    • Corbett, OR,
    • Dec 5, 2015

I got two pairs of Big Vision glasses for close up magnifying - removing splinters, reading tiny print, etc. Not as reading glasses. They do a great job, we are very happy with results.

    Bad News!

    • Denver, CO,
    • Oct 30, 2015

My daughter was so excited when she saw these glasses advertised, but after they arrived and I tried them, the item was NO better than my $6.00 pair from the market. What a scam!

    Good vision, poor hinges

    • Florida,
    • Oct 24, 2015

I love these glasses. I agree with the person that said after cataract surgery she still could not see up close as well as before. The only complaint I have is that the eyeglass hinges are not strong and I have broken 4 pairs. They last only a few weeks. If they replace the hinges with something stronger they would be great! I love that there is no blurring for the larger image.

    Don't do it!

    • Augusta, GA,
    • Oct 13, 2015

They ask for your payment info first thing. Then when you see all of the add-on costs and change your mind and do not follow through with the order, yet they will still charge you.

I contacted them in less than 24 hours, after they sent a confirmation email, to say that I NEVER placed the order.

They said, “too bad, it had already shipped”.

    What a rip off!

    Big Scam. Do Not Order!

    • Kapolei, HI,
    • Sep 14, 2015

They say you can cancel within 24 hours but you CANNOT. They'll tell you it shipped already as an excuse as to why they can't cancel it. Best to NOT ORDER. Big rip off.

    Poor Quality

I ordered 2 pairs of the Big Vision glasses. The first pair lasted about 2 weeks and one of the arms came off. I glued the arm back and the glasses lasted another week and the arm broke near the frame and could not be repaired. After about the first week, the nose guard came off and the glasses scratched my nose.

I am working on the second pair. I have had to make a number of repairs to the nose guard and the glasses are getting pretty scratched up. The Big Vision glasses were a waste of time and money.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
