These are but a few of the most important questions consumers should ask themselves when choosing a hosting provider. Here’s how BlueHost stands up against the competition:

Availability

The last thing you want is to have your website crash during an important transaction, or to have a large client experience a “Page Not Found” error after you’ve successfully convinced them to purchase large quantities of products or services from you. In today’s modern age, your web presence is equally as important as your customer service.

Most hosting companies boast “99.9% uptime,” but we’ve found this is not actually the case the vast majority of the time. BlueHost, however, has maintained a 99.893% uptime since December of 2005.

Risk Mitigation

Imagine that the server on which your site is hosted crashes due to hard drive failure. Your site is the lifeblood of your business, and it needs to be active in order for you to make money. Will all of your MySQL databases be lost? Do you now have to start a new website from scratch? What do you do? These are all important factors to keep in mind.

When shopping for a hosting provider, some additional questions that should be at the top of your mind are: What are their backup procedures? Do their servers run RAID setups? What do they do in case of a natural disaster? Do they have mirrored services at an offsite location?

Scalability

BlueHost has three dedicated hosting packages, including a useful ticketing system, all of which are scalable and fully customizable. If need be, you can purchase additional IP addresses, or simply add extra disk space if you’re close to reaching your limit.

Reputation

According to the Better Business Bureau, BlueHost has 87 closed complaints within the last three years. While this averages about two complaints per month, this is a fairly small number considering the volume of business that the company transacts. Note: BlueHost is not officially accredited with the Better Business Bureau.

BlueHost Pricing

Hosting plans through BlueHost cost as little as $4.95 per month, while comprehensive dedicated hosting packages begin at $74.99 per month. Additionally, BlueHost customers can also resell their web services or run their own cloud setup.

    Reliable and Robust Hosting Company.

    I've worked with various hosting companies and it's obvious that these guys stand behind all their promises.

    They have great tech support, great pricing, great features that are all essential including cPanel and finally even for shared hosting, they have a 99.99% uptime as promised.

    Any site that I hosted on Bluehost always loaded fast and never experienced down time. I cannot say anything about any other services that Bluehost provides because I've only used their shared hosting. If you don't have a major complex enterprise website, go for it.

    Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    I'm happy with bluehost overall

    I like bluehost. Never encountered problems with them. The only thing that bothers me is that in order to access cPanel at like www.YourWebsite.com/cpanel (like you'd normally do it), it brings me to my account page and I have to make a few extra clicks to get to cPanel, and it's all integrated within the account page. Although it;s not a big minus or anything, you eventually get used to it.

    It's performance that's important right? And that deserves an A+

    Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Bluehost Proves to be a reliable hosting company

    A couple years ago we created a new website and bought BlueHost shared packaging. We have never experienced slow loading or down times. I'll also add that we get about 5-6000 visitors monthly with many inner pages. Our site is very dynamic and contains a ton of media content on it. We never had to complain. I can't vouch for their tech support because we never had to use them so that's a good thing in a way, they never gave us a reason to. I've used many hosting companies and I think BlueHost is by far the best for shared hosting. GO For It!

    Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
