About Cellusyn Neuro-HD
Cellusyn Neuro-HD is a brain supplement that claims to provide daily, effective cognition support by enhancing brain function, boosting memory and focus, and reducing stress and anxiety. In addition, Neuro-HD is claimed to sharpen your alertness and energy, promote brain health, increase mental acuity, and improve your life by “helping you to get more done.”
Picking out a nutritional supplement can be a daunting task, considering the fact that they’re not regulated by the FDA, which means manufacturers can make essentially any claim they like, without having to back them up with evidence. With this said, is Neuro-HD any different, and what can you reasonably expect from taking it?
How Neuro-HD Claims to Work
According to the Neuro-HD website, decreased mental function can appear as a result of age, lack of sleep, and environmental toxins, which results in the death of brain cells. However, Neuro-HD claims to be a proven formula to combat these negative effects by increasing Acetylcholine production, improving blood flow to the brain, and supporting mood and resistance to stress. As a result, Neuro-HD is claimed to improve memory, focus, and concentration, while boosting alertness and mood.
In order to accomplish this, Neuro-HD is claimed to prevent reduced brain functioning using natural, clinically backed ingredients such as:
- Vitamin B6 15mg
- Vitamin B12 20mcg
- AlphaSize Alpha GPC 200mg
- L-Tyrosine 200mg
- SerinAid 200mg
- L-Theanine 100mg
- Bacopin 100mg
- Resveratrol 50mg
- Choline Bitartrate 25mg
- DMAE Bitartrate 25mg
- Inositol 25mg
- Huperzine A 5mg
- Vinpocetine 5mg
- Boron 3mg
For adults 18 and over, the manufacturer recommends taking 2 capsules of Neuro-HD with 8 ounces of water about 30 minutes prior to breakfast and/or lunch. You can also take 2 capsules prior to any intense mental activity, although you shouldn’t exceed 4 capsules in a 24-hour period.
Neuro-HD is claimed to cause no known side effects, although it’s advised that you not take it close to bedtime or you may experience difficulty sleeping.
Neuro-HD Pricing & Refund Policy
Each bottle of Neuro-HD contains 60 capsules (30 servings) and, if purchased directly through the manufacturer, is priced as follows:
- 1 Bottle: $39.95, plus $4.95 S&H
- 2 Bottles: $69.95, plus $5.95 S&H
- 3 Bottles: $99.95, plus free S&H
Keep in mind that Neuro-HD is also available through numerous affiliate websites, so pricing can vary by a few dollars. In fact, you may be able to purchase additional bottles of the supplement for the same price as just one through the manufacturer (see this website as an example). In addition, Neuro-HD is sold through several third-party retailers, including Amazon.com.
There is no refund information provided on the Cellusyn website, so we contacted customer service and found out that Neuro-HD comes with a 90-day money back guarantee, less S&H. However, this only applies to one unopened bottle, while all others must be in original saleable condition.
With this said, if you purchase Neuro-HD through a third-party affiliate or company, refund policies will vary.
In order to intitate the refund process, you’ll need to contact Cellusyn’s customer service department at 866-478-7240.
Can Cellusyn Neuro-HD Really Provide You with Brain Benefits?
Considering all this information, is Neuro-HD really a “brain supplement that works” as the manufacturer claims? Maybe, but remember the following:
As we’ve mentioned in the past, brain supplements as a whole generally lack conclusive evidence indicating that they work as advertised, although some of their ingredients may show some promise. This includes L-Tyrosine for improving alertness after a lack of sleep, choline for certain brain disorders, and DMAE for improved red blood cell function.
Outside of this, some of Neuro-HD’s ingredients may help improve cognition in Alzheimer’s and/or dementia patients, but not in otherwise healthy individuals. However, other than Huperzine A (which is the primary ingredient in the prescription medication Cebria), none of these ingredients have been conclusively shown to improve memory or cognition in any way.
On top of this, although the Cellusyn Labs’ website has been online since May 2013, Neuro-HD appears to be a very new product, as there are essentially no online customer reviews that can be used to gauge overall satisfaction levels. The company is also not listed with the Better Business Bureau.
However, some of the most common complaints related to other brain boosters are failure to work, digestive upset, skin reactions (rashes, flushing, etc.), and high price.
More Important Details About Neuro-HD
Finally, when purchasing any nutritional supplement, it’s important to know where it’s manufactured and if it’s third-party tested for efficacy and safety. With this in mind, none of this information is provided on the Neuro-HD website, so we contacted Cellusyn customer service, where we learned that the supplement is manufactured in a GMP-certified facility, although the representative was unsure if it is third-party tested.
Considering the lack of clinical evidence showing Neuro-HD’s effectiveness, you may want to speak with your physician about tried and true methods of improving your brain’s health and boosting your cognition.
