About Choice 1000 Caralluma

Choice 1000 Caralluma is a dietary supplement that claims to help you lose weight by suppressing appetite, reducing waist circumference, blocking enzymes that form fat within your body, boosting energy, and increasing serotonin production. Because of this, the manufacturer refers to Choice 1000 Caralluma as “Mother Nature’s answer to weight loss.”

By taking one, 1-gram capsule of Choice 1000 Caralluma per day, which is claimed to contain only 100% organic Caralluma fimbriata, the manufacturer claims you can lose up to 1 pound per day. And, along with eating a sensible diet and exercising regularly, Choice 1000 Caralluma will give you the body you want in a matter of months.

Choice 1000 Caralluma is claimed to be made in the USA is an FDA registered facility, and to be safe for use.

Maybe this is your first venture into the world of nutritional supplements, or perhaps you’ve been burned by a supplements manufacturer in the past. Whatever the case may be, you want to know if Choice 1000 Caralluma really can help you lose weight as easily as it claims. So can it? Consider the following:

What is Caralluma Fimbriata?

Caralluma fimbriata is a type of cactus found in India that has been used for centuries in a variety of recipes, and can be eaten raw, pickled, or added to chutneys. Caralluma fimbriata is also widely regarded for its ability to suppress appetite, and is known as an ideal food for times of famine.

The primary method of action in caralluma fimbriata is thought to be related to pregnane glycosides, which are molecules of sugar that are bound to pregnane hydrocarbons, resulting in the feeling of satiety. But does the appetite suppression provided by caralluma fimbriata necessarily translate into weight loss?

Is the Caralluma Fimbriata Used in Choice 1000 Caralluma Effective?

In short: no. According to WebMD, the supplement may help decrease waist size, but does not appear to actually help individuals lose weight.

Taking a look a National Institutes of Health’s PubMED, there have only been a very small number of clinical studies performed related to caralluma fimbriata’s weight loss benefits. However, those that have been completed appear to find no relationship between the cactus’s appetite suppression and its ability to help individuals lose weight.

For example, this May 2007 study found that, “While there was a trend towards a greater decrease in body weight, body mass index, hip circumference, body fat and energy intake between assessment time points in the experimental group, these were not significantly different between experimental and placebo groups.” In other words, those taking caralluma fimbriata supplements didn’t experience any benefits above and beyond those taking nothing at all.

A more recent June 2013 study found that, over the course of 12 weeks, most participants experienced a reduction in waist size. The study also concludes “a significant reduction in body weight, BMI, hip circumference, systolic BP, HR, triglyceride levels, total fat and saturated fat intake within both groups was observed following the intervention period,” although it’s not made clear how much weight each participant lost.

Outside of appetite suppression, we didn’t come across any clinical evidence showing that caralluma fimbriata can help burn fat more efficiently, block enzymes from turning food into fat, or increase serotonin production during our research.

Less Proof, More Emotion

As we outlined in our article How Weight Loss Ads Convince You to Buy, supplements manufacturers often use “Jedi mind tricks” to make each sale than they rely upon clinical proof for their products.

In the instance of Choice 1000 Caralluma, as soon as you land on the home page (found here), your eye is immediately drawn to a picture of an attractive model in the upper left-hand corner, which immediately makes you think, “I want to look like that.” Then, the company attempts to create a sense of urgency by claiming, “ATTENTION: Due to recently being featured on T.V. we cannot guarantee supply. As of [Date] we currently have product IN STOCK and ship within 24 hours of purchase.”

Then, this sense of urgency is alleviated when you find that you can immediately order your bottle of the supplement simply by filling out the form on the right side of the page.

What is Choice 1000 Caralluma’s Reputation with Consumers?

Choice 1000 Caralluma appears to only be available though a large network of affiliates, who will often post fake online reviews in an effort to make you think you’re reading about a legitimate customer’s experience, when it’s really just more marketing hype. Many of these affiliate sites appear to have been posted since December 1.

Speaking of marketing hype: Many of these affiliate sites claimed that Choice 1000 Caralluma has 110,000 Facebook fans and 550,000 satisfied customers. However, at the time of our research, the company had only 1 Facebook like. And considering the short length of time many of these affiliate sites have been operational, we’re doubtful that more than half million bottles of the supplement have already been sold.

Choice 1000 Caralluma Pricing & Refund Policy

Choice 1000 Caralluma is priced as follows:

  • 1 Bottle (60 capsules): $49.99
  • Buy 2, Get 1 Free: $99
  • Buy 3, Get 2 Free: $148

Very important note: According to a “coupon” located just under the ordering section of the Choice 1000 Caralluma website, these prices reflect a “mail-in rebate,” the instructions for which you’ll receive along with your order. This means your upfront price for the 1-bottle option price increases by $10, the 3-bottle by $30, and the 5-bottle by $50. In our opinion, this is a confusing way to do business.

On top of this, 30 days after your order you’ll be enrolled in My-Healthy-Helper.com, which is a website that appears to offer a variety of workouts, trackers, recipes, and other fitness-related content. Consequently, you’ll be charged $9.74 per month until you cancel your enrollment.

Choice 1000 Caralluma comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges and a $5.95 per-unit restocking fee. Keep in mind that the package must arrive at manufacturer within 30 days, and all bottles must be unopened in order to be eligible for a refund.

To cancel your My-Healthy-Helper.com membership or to request a Choice 1000 Caralluma refund, you’ll need to contact customer service at 866-369-8481.

Can Choice 1000 Caralluma Make Weight Loss Easy?

Chopping to the Point: Given the fact that there’s almost zero clinical evidence showing Choice 1000 Caralluma (or any caralluma fimbriata product) can provide meaningful weight loss, and that the manufacturer uses some questionable marketing and pricing tactics, we’d recommend saving your hard-earned money.

And if you do decide to purchase a caralluma fimbriata supplement, we’d recommend doing so through a local retailer. This way, you won’t be signed up for any kind of recurring charges, and returning the product is as easy as hopping in your car.

    Total Scam

My niece, who is 14 years old, ordered the Caralluma using my card without my knowledge. A few minutes later she told me what she did and was surprised that it was charged for $129.00. She said she only wanted to try 1 bottle. I called the telephone number they had and told the customer service, who could not understand me well, that it was a minor who ordered and it is was not me and I wanted to cancel the order. Everybody are right, those customer service reps from India cannot explain and cannot understand what we are talking about. Other companies can cancel the order and you will not have any problems at all. But this Choice 1000 Caralluma company is a total SCAM, misleading and are thieves. Any fraud you do to people will come back to you 1000 times. I will not recommend to order this from this company.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Total SCAM

    • Santa Paula CA,
    • Sep 4, 2015

Ordered a 30 free day trial, I thought. I was charged $89.95 15 days later. I called customer service, they said the trial was 10 days (for a weight loss supplement?). They were rude, gave me a hard time about canceling an auto shipment I had evidently signed up for by taking their "free trial". They finally canceled it when I asked to speak to a native English speaker as she wasn't understanding me. Then she promptly hung up on me.

I tried to cancel an order for one bottle which was totally inflated in price on the receipt. When I tried to cancel the order, I was told I could not. An absolute scam to obtain and one's money.

    Big spam, big scam.

    • Auckland, New Zealand,
    • Jul 20, 2015

There is a huge spamming campaign to hype this weight-loss scam. I have received over 200 spam emails, each one with a couple lines of text, then a link using one of four different URL shortener. Spammers use this method to try to avoid blacklisting. The ordering system tries to force you to order more than you intended, and defaults to signing you up for a fitness course with a company which has a false address and contact details.

Don't believe a word they say, don't fall for their scams, don't expect to get your money back.

Scam. Do not buy Choice 1000 Caralluma.

    • Peotone, IL,
    • Jul 18, 2015

I purchased Choice 1000 Caralluma through the website. The total that was to be put on my credit card showed $99.00 for three bottles with free shipping. After I entered all my credit card information it asked me to upgrade many times and I kept clicking no, but when I submitted the order it had charged my card $224.70. It doubled my order and put an extra $30 (for the mail-in rebate) on the card. I did not order six bottles, but I could not do anything about it. There were no numbers or any contact info to contact the company. After much research, I got a phone number and called them and they said they could not stop the order. They said I could return any unopened bottles but I had to pay return shipping (for two boxes because they placed it in two orders) and a restocking fee of $5.95 per bottle (times six bottles, which I did not order). This is awful. What a scam. They get their money just by the restocking fees. They need to be stopped. I don't have an extra $224.70 laying around. And who's to say they will even return my money ever.

    Scam

    • Greenville, South Carolina,
    • May 11, 2015

Placed order, changed my mind, called to cancel and was told I could not. I have to wait for the box, call and get a return number, and pay a restocking fee of $5.95 per bottle.

The original order was buy 3 get 2 free at $29 and change. The total amount was $198.00! I am not a math genius but even I know that does not add up.

Also you are to send in some rebates, not sure how all that works.

All I heard from the customer rep was about company policy and that all this information was in the website.

Do not order anything from them! I read a review afterwards that they also enroll you in some monthly subscription for $9.99 a month and you have to call and cancel.

Feeling pretty stupid and ticked off right now. First public review ever.

      Ella

Karen, I had the same experience you did with trying to cancel the order. I tried to cancel within 1 hour of ordering and was told the order could not be canceled. I also have to wait for the box, call and get a return number. My order total was supposed to be $66 and turned out to be $129. I told them that I absolutely refused to pay a restocking fee because I had tried to cancel the order before it ever shipped. Needless to say, I was furious and never heard of such a way of doing business. I would also tell everyone to stay away from these people.

    TOTAL SCAM

I also purchased this and was told that I would not be charged for 30 days and so I entered my credit card info and was instantly charged $198. I called customer service to cancel the order and was told they were not able to cancel it at customer service. So I asked who can I call to cancel and was told there is no one to call to cancel the order and that I would have to wait until it gets here and send the product back to get a refund. I am so mad right now. This is a total scam!

    A scam

    • Apr 5, 2015

I ordered and only wanted 3 bottles. The extra ads were deceiving and showed that I ordered nine bottles and it did not even allow you to approve your amount so I paid for more bottles then I asked for or wanted. I called customer service immediately after ordering and they said I could not change the order because they have a speedy processing so now instead of paying $95.70 I am paying $224.70. A bunch of crooks.
