About Clean and Green

Clean and Green is an aerosol-based pet stain and odor remover that’s claimed to works instantly, to contain natural ingredients, and to be safe for kids, pets, and the planet. Simply spray and walk away—no scrubbing or rinsing required.

Clean and Green is sold by Sea Yu Enterprises, an eco-and-pet friendly company based in San Francisco, CA. They are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, although they did hold an A+ rating based on no closed complaints (as of 7/6/15).

How Clean and Green Works

Manufactured in the USA, Clean and Green comes in an aerosol spray can that’s claimed to contain an exclusive, patented, Earth Smart Cleaning Technology that “encapsulates stains and odors, locks them into molecules, and permanently eliminates them naturally.” They claim the ingredients are all-natural, non-toxic, fragrance-free, and hypoallergenic (on the website they state it includes purified water, cane sugar, a proprietary botanical blend, and hydrated cellulose.)

To use Clean and Green, the company claims you should spray the affected area of your carpet, which will target the stain and instantly begin working by reaching all the way down, permanently removing the stain, and neutralizing the odor. They add there is no perfume or chemical smell residue.

In addition to pet messes, Clean and Green is claimed to work on liquids such as wine, soy sauce, soda, coffee, ketchup, mustard, and juices in the same manner, and can even be used on chairs, sofas, beds, and more.

Because there is no need to scrub or rinse the stain, and that it is much less expensive than replacing your carpet, hiring a professional cleaner, or buying multiple products, Clean and Green is claimed to save you time and money. In the infomercial, Clean and Green is sprayed on soiled carpet samples and appears to instantly erase the stain, much to the amazement of onlookers who seem to be ordinary shoppers in a mall.

Clean and Green includes:

  • Clean and Green Carpet (16 oz.)
  • BOGO “free” (extra S & H)
  • Clean and Green Fabric Refresher (extra charge)
  • Clean and Green Hardwood and Tile (extra charge)

Clean and Green Pricing, Shipping, and Returns

One bottle of Clean and Green is available for $19.95 plus $7.95, although they automatically give you a second bottle for “free” and charge an additional $7.95 S & H, ultimately bringing the total to $35.85.

At checkout, you’ll also be given the option of buying a 3-pack of Carpet, Fabric Refresher, and Hardwood/Tile Cleaner for $29.95 plus $11.95 S&H, for a total of $41.90. If you try Clean and Green and it doesn’t work the way they say it does, the manufacturer claims you can return for a refund, minus the S & H (and what it cost you in postage to send it back).

Bottom Line: Is Clean and Green a Scam?

We love Clean and Green’s eco-friendly, non-toxic ingredients and the product seems to do the job for many people as advertised. However, there are some complaints about the dispenser not working correctly; there being very little actual product within the can; and an unusual/unpleasant lingering odor.

On top of this, when you add up all the fees, it’s quite expensive. If you do want to give this product a try, we suggest ordering through a big box retailer like Amazon, which offers a reduced price, a better return policy, and much lower S & H charges.
