Cookina claims to be a 3-in-1 product: a cooking sheet, a grilling sheet, and an oven protector. Since it’s summertime and everybody likes to have a clean grilling surface, the timing for this is perfect.
But is Cookina really something you need and does it work as advertised? Let’s take a look and find out.
Cookina Details & Features
They say it’s made from a polymer fabric, but don’t get any more specific than that. We suspect it’s just like the Miracle Grill Mat or Yoshi Grill & Bake which are both made with PTFE-coated glass fabric. (They tout in the infomercial it’s free of PFOA, which is commonly used in many non-stick pans.)
It’s also confusing as to where you can use Cookina. The infomercial emphasizes both the barbecue and the oven and that it’s 3 products in one. But your purchase includes a roll of Cookina Reusable Non-Stick Sheet in a blue package as well one labeled Cookina Grilling sheet in orange. (A search on the Amazon website showed several different Cookina products with different names but all with the same general properties. In other words, it seems as if you can use either version in both the oven and on the BBQ, regardless of what the packaging says.)
Both products come in a long box similar to aluminum foil – they claim Cookina is a replacement for foil, wax, or parchment paper. They tout that it’s the “longest sheet available” but the infomercial fails to cite specifics. (A call to customer service disclosed the measurements to be 16” x 59” for the Non-Stick Sheet and 16” x 20” for the Grilling Sheet.) They say you can cut Cookina to the size you need.
Cookina’s main claim to fame is that nothing sticks to it and it can withstand temperatures of 500 degrees Fahrenheit. They add it will prevent flare-ups on the barbecue and that it’s reversible and easy to clean. (They say it provides “Fat free” cooking but it’s not clear what this means.) You can place it in a pan or directly on the metal – either way they say your original surface is kept in pristine condition.

Bottom Line: Our Cookina Review and Observation
We’re not going to say that Cookina is an outright scam. Consumer reviews are generally positive about these types of cooking mats, although they are not all created equal. However, there are a few things we’d like to point out from our research.
First, it’s unclear why there are two separate products. Apart from the size and color of the box, they both appear to be made of the same materials and do the same basic thing. We “grilled” customer service and they couldn’t provide any info as to the difference.
Next, they refer to the products in different ways, sometimes as Cookina BBQ, others as Cookina Non-Stick, and even as Cookina Club. (We were concerned that the “Cookina Club” meant you would be signed up for additional shipments; however customer service says this isn’t the case.)
There are a handful of reviews of Cookina products on Amazon’s website which lean towards the positive, but since there are a couple dozen at best, this can’t be considered a strong indicator.
Finally, and most importantly, you can’t get your money back if it doesn’t work. Again, we feel this type of product does work as advertised, but any company that can’t put a “Money Back Guarantee” on their site loses Consumer-Friendly points with us.
In conclusion, let us say that if you want a product like Cookina, do a search in the Amazon web store for BBQ grill mat, look for a product with lots of positive reviews, and order from there. Happy grilling or baking!

Sauce or no sauce.
If not using a sauce it works fine. However, if using sauce, the sauce will burn leaving a black crust which is very difficult to clean.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
