About Cooklite Aero Fryer

By using 480-degree superheated air instead of oil, the Cooklite Aero Fryer is claimed to be the healthy way to enjoy all your favorite crispy, delicious fried foods at home, including french fries, mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, fried shrimp, onion rings, and more, but with up to 70% less calories.

In order to help you achieve the same flavor, crispy outside, and juicy inside as deep frying, the Cooklite Aero Fryer is claimed to use a combination of halogen, convection, and infrared heat types (more about this in a moment). On top of this, the Aero Fryer’s “instant on” technology is claimed to use less energy and cook up to 3 times faster, while giving you the option to roast, broil, barbecue, grill, and steam, without the need for preheating.

Once you’re finished using your Cooklite Aero Fryer, the manufacturer claims you can just add soap and water and the device will clean itself, or you can add it to the dishwasher for hands-free cleaning.

You want to feed your family healthy food, but you also want to give them what they want; e.g. food that tastes good and is actually enjoyable to eat. Admittedly, the healthier a food is, the less pleasant it tastes. But can the Cooklite Aero Fryer help you strike an equal balance between health and taste? Consider the following:

What’s the Difference Between Halogen, Convection, & Infrared Heat?

Halogen gently heats the surface of your food, although how gently it actually operates depends largely on the bulb’s wattage (note: Cooklite doesn’t provide any wattage information, or any other technical specifications, for the Aero Fryer). Because of its gentleness though, the halogen heating in the Cooklite Aero Fryer may provide even surface cooking.

On the other hand, EngineeringToolbox claims that convection heat involves “Heat energy transferred between a surface and a moving fluid at different temperatures.” In other words, if you’re cooking chicken, convection heat constantly circulates air around your food, which removes cool air and replaces if with warm air.

Finally, infrared heat is actually a wavelength of light that’s absorbed by different materials, which in turn causes these materials to heat up. According to the Cooklite website, Aero Fryer’s infrared heat is claimed to cook your food from the inside out and to help retain moisture.

Can Cooklite Aero Fryer’s 3 Different Heat Types Cook As Well As a Traditional Fryer?

With this explained, if the Aero Fryer can’t cook as well as a traditional fryer, what’s the point of all these different heat types, right? So can it?

In short, it’s difficult to say, as it’s a very new product without any online customer reviews available at the time of our research (1/26/15) or any information about the manufacturer.

However, the Cooklite Aero Fryer uses the exact same heat types as the Big Boss Oil-Less Fryer and is also an “As Seen on TV” product, and it appears to have a mid-range online customer reputation. Among consumers, some of the most common complaints appear to reference failure to work as well as a traditional fryer, long cooking times, and small cooking space compared to the overall size of the device. Granted, this appears to be a different product from a different manufacturer so you may not experience the same with your Cooklite Aero Fryer.

Regardless of how well the Aero Fryer may work though, without oil, it’s technically not frying your food, but is instead just cooking it very similar to a traditional convection oven. Because of this, it’s fairly likely that it won’t provide the same level of flavor associated with traditionally fried foods.

When it Comes To Oil-Less Fryers, You Have Options

We’ve already mentioned the Big Boss Oil-Less Fryer, but keep in mind that there are numerous other air fryers available from more mainstream manufacturers, many of which also come with very high customer ratings. Granted, many of these will be priced higher than the Cooklite Aero Fryer, so you’ll have to decide whether or not it’s worth giving a shot (more about this next).

Cooklite Aero Fryer Pricing & Refund Policy

The Cooklite Aero Fryer is available in red or black finishes, and is priced at 3 payments of $49.95 plus free shipping, or one single payment of $149.85. For this, you’ll receive the following:

  • Cooklite Aero Fryer
  • 13-Piece Knife Set
  • Recipe Book
  • Tongs
  • Mesh Basket
  • Patented Dual Tray
  • Extender Ring
  • French Fry Maker
  • Deluxe Mister

Note: As we mentioned above, there isn’t any information on the product’s website about the capacity it contains (or any of its other specifications), although we did find a very similar product sold through Amazon.com, but at a much higher price.

With this said, if purchased directly through the manufacturer, the Cooklite Aero Fryer comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges. In order to request a refund, you’ll need to contact customer service at 855-528-7675.

Is the Cooklite Aero Fryer Really a “One-Touch Kitchen Miracle?”

Chopping to the Point: Air frying technology has admittedly come a long way over the past several years, although even among the high-priced models from mainstream manufacturers, you won’t actually be frying anything. As such, if you’re thinking that the Cooklite Aero Fryer—or any other air fryer, for that matter—will perform as well as a traditional deep fryer, then you may be disappointed by the results.

With this said, if you typically only fry “easy” foods such as french fries or fried pickles and don’t mind gambling the S&H charges, the Cooklite Aero Fryer may end up pleasantly surprising you.

Terrible Peoduct and even Worst Customer service

I really enjoyed the Aero fryer when it worked, however, after two months the Aerofryer simply quit working but it has a 30 day return policy. A product which cost over $150.00 should have a longer warranty, won't one think? Of course, in order to return the product I have to pay for a box to ship it and also pay to ship the product.

Be aware of this company's product. This was a wrap for me. I have had other company whose products cost was less but gladly sent a return to sender without any cost to their customer. I won't recommend this product or company simply because of the customer service I received, just so you know.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Credit card was compromised

    • Florida,
    • Mar 4, 2016

I ordered their product, then I tried to track it and it stated it could not find my order. I had a print out of the confirmed order confirmation number. Tried to cancel order, it would not let me do it. After several weeks, I get a letter from my credit card company that my card had been compromised and they where sending me a new one. Then weeks later, I finally get my product. So be really careful. The food takes long to cook and limited to the amount of pieces you can put in the basket. I should get back some compensation for the crap on my card.

    Folks, get a proven oven!

    • Ontario, Canada,
    • Feb 19, 2016

A friend bought one, and I used it to cook for her when she was unwell. This product is ok if you are single and don't entertain.

Years ago (can't remember exactly, I think it's about four years now), I bought the Flavorwave oven. It cooks better than this newbie, even after four years, and is much, much bigger, cooks very fast, and foods like fries, onion rings and chicken taste like fried food. I do my baking, and cook fish in this too. I spread the news, and since I am a critic, my friends believed me when I told them the product exceeded expectations. To date, I still get gratitude from anyone who bought this product after I recommended it. Go for something that is proven, because money is not easy to come by.

    Scam

    • Newfoundland, Canada ,
    • Jan 4, 2016

On November 30, 2015 I ordered the Cooklite Aero Fryer that I saw on TV. I was told that I would receive an email conformation which I never received, but due to my conformation on my credit card I didn't worry too much about it. So I waited for my package. Finally on December 21 when I had not received the package, I called their customer service number (which I had to search). When I got ahold of them to find out where my fryer was, I was told that it had not been sent out because they did not have any in stock. When I ordered the product I was not informed about this. They told me that the product was still on back order from before November 30th. It's been backed ordered for twenty two days? I don't think so. So I requested for my order to be canceled and my $232.04 be refunded. They told me that I would have to contact my bank for the refund. However, the bank cannot refund the money without the company's authorization. I have been screwed royally.

My friend ordered a fryer. It was to be in Canadian funds. She was charged in American funds. This is crooked advertising. I'm letting my friends know.

Another piece of junk: "Made in China"

    • Tomahawk, WI,
    • Oct 18, 2015

I purchased this piece of crap "Made in China" because of a television commercial that I watched. Believe me when I tell you that the food does not look at all like it does on TV. The food surface is very small. You can only put one layer of food on the surface, about enough food for one person. So if you are cooking for the family, FORGET IT and use your grill. The knife set that you get with this unit that you can keep even if you return the unit itself is also from China and not worth anything! The big shocker is that when you want to return this piece of garbage, $24.00 is what it's going to cost you to ship it back through UPS. This is a rip off.

    Nice cooker

The Aero Fryer itself is not bad, but small. In the ad they show a rack with no legs to get in the way of larger items. Then send you a dual rack with legs on both sides for changing how high the cooking surface is. This makes doing a whole chicken impossible unless it's sitting without the rack on the pan.

Also mine came without a cook book. I called and they said it would be sent out in a week. 4 weeks later got a postcard saying it was still coming. It's now been 3 months and still no cook book.

    Bad

I ordered this in February and they said it would arrive on first of March. Well it didn't and so I called in April. No one knew of my order. Ok fine, I figured it didn't go through. All of a sudden, this thing shows up. I'm tricked into keeping it because I'm not paying to ship this back. Very poor customer service. They must not have too many sales to pull a stunt like this. Never recommend to anyone.

    Good Luck

    • Virginia,
    • Apr 1, 2015

Bought this item and when it came there was a note in the package saying, " Sorry but the French fry cutter was out of stock when we shipped your Aero-Fryer." Next sentence - "Good news the French fry cutter is back in stock and will be shipped later." I called and no one ever heard of me and could not confirm my order. Two problems:

1- Credit card was charged and I have the fryer, so I do exist.

2 - If the note is telling me that part of the order was out of stock and in the next sentence also in stock, why not just put it in there?

Hope It Doesn't Break. Sounds Like I Will Never Get Any Help With That.
