About Cuddle Cool Pillow

Cuddle Cool Pillow claims to be a specially engineered sleep solution that can help keep you cool and get a deep, restful night’s sleep, without having to worry about sweating or waking up with a stiff, sore neck each morning.

Unlike ordinary pillows that absorb body heat, Cuddle Cool Pillow is claimed to feature ventilated memory foam that draws the heat away from your head and into the gel-infused cells of its polar honeycomb, while its visco-elastic cells contain memory pockets that react to temperature and weight. And because Cuddle Cool pillow is manufactured using an anatomically correct contour, it’s guaranteed to keep its shape and to cradle your head all throughout the night.

If you were to base your decision solely on the Cuddle Cool Pillow’s commercial, it might seem obvious that it can help provide you with a better night’s sleep. But is this actually the case? Let’s take a look.

What’s Making You Hot at Night?

First and foremost, consider that you can control your body temperature at night much more effectively by changing your heating and cooling settings before you go to bed, and by changing out/reducing your amount of bedding, such as sheets, blankets, and comforters.

Also, night sweats can be an indication of an unaddressed medical condition, so if making changes to your sleeping arrangements doesn’t work, you’ll certainly want to speak with your physician.

In other words, while changing out your pillow might help reduce your overheating at night, there are several things you’ll want to address beforehand.

Polar Honeycomb? Visco-elastic Cells? Memory Pockets?

Next, the Cuddle Cool Pillow’s website and commercial use some fairly technical-sounding jargon when describing their product, but do they actually mean anything?

Other than several publications related to a Kitaev honeycomb, which appears to be related to quantum physics. However, there isn’t any online indication that this type of polar honeycomb (or any other type for that matter) related to Cuddle Cool Pillow. Because of this, it’s our opinion that Cuddle Cool Pillow’s manufacturer is simply using this as a marketing buzzword.

On the other hand, “visco-elastic cell” and “memory pocket” are simply fancy ways of saying that Cuddle Cool’s memory foam will return to its normal shape after being compressed by the weight of your neck and head.

Are There Similar Options As Cuddle Cool Pillow?

Another term that probably piqued your interest during the Cuddle Cool Pillow’s commercial is “ventilated memory foam.” However, the manufacturer doesn’t provide any additional information as to how the pillow is ventilated (e.g. are there simply small holes throughout the memory foam, or is it a more complex design like Tempflow?).

Regardless, a quick online search for “ventilated memory foam pillow” will return dozens of results similar to the Cuddle Cool Pillow. Granted, they may be more expensive (more about this next), although they might end up providing you with more value for your money.

Are Customers Pleased with Their Cuddle Cool Pillows?

TeleBrands, one of the biggest players in the “As Seen on TV” industry, who manufacturers dozens of popular ASOTV products, including Amish Secret, Copper Hands, Pocket Hose Ultra, and Wow Cup.

Among more than 140 HighYa reader reviews for these products, they hold an average rating of 2 stars, with common complaints citing poor quality products that don’t work as advertised (or in some instances, at all), and poor customer service (difficulty processing refunds, numerous upsells during calls, etc.). While this may not be what you’ll experience with Cuddle Cool Pillow, it’s worth keeping in mind.

From a company perspective, TeleBrands holds an F rating with the Better Business Bureau, based on more than 1,430 closed complaints (as of 2/24/15), most of which are identical to those noted above.

Cuddle Cool Pillow Pricing & Refund Policy

Cuddle Cool Pillow is available in 2 sizes:

  • Queen: $29.99
  • King: $39.99

Regardless of which option you choose, you’ll be charged $9.99 S&H. However, you can purchase a second queen Cuddle Cool Pillow for a reduced price of $12.99, or a second king for $22.99 at checkout.

Cuddle Cool Pillow comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges. This means if you ordered two queen sizes and are dissatisfied, you’ll immediately lose almost $23 in S&H charges (more if you choose the king option), before even factoring in what it will cost to send the pillows back to the manufacturer.

Regardless, if you’d like to request a refund, you’ll need to contact customer service at 855-668-1655.

Will Cuddle Cool Pillow Help You Sleep Cooler at Night?

While it’s possible that Cuddle Cool Pillow might help you sleep cooler at night, it’s important to remember:

  • There are numerous other, more effective, methods of decreasing your body heat at night.
  • There doesn’t appear to be anything unique about the Cuddle Cool Pillow that isn’t offered in similar products from other manufacturers.
  • Cuddle Cool Pillow comes with high S&H charges, which you’ll lose if you’re dissatisfied and decide to process a refund.

Because of this, we’d strongly recommend considering all your options before handing over your money for Cuddle Cool Pillow.
