About DermaWow

Derma Wow is a lotion for your skin they say rejuvenates dead, dry skin cells which is claimed to use only natural-organic ingredients and allegedly works in just a matter of minutes. The way they make this fancy is by turning it into a two-step process, where you first apply a “primer” and then an “activator.” By doing this, they suggest you will have an epidermis that will make you say “Wow!”

DermaWow is sold by an unknown manufacturer whose address listed is a PO box in Pueblo, Colorado.

How DermaWow Works

DermaWow is actually 2 or 3 products, depending on how you look at it. First, there is a Magnesium Oil Primer (4 oz.) and an Activator containing “organic plant extracts” (4 oz.); with your order they throw in a “bonus” bottle of Finishing Touch Lotion (1 oz). To use DermaWow, treat your body like you were painting a car: first spray on the Primer, rub in the Activator, and then apply the Finishing Touch.

They claim the combination of these products and steps will rejuvenate skin in 3 minutes. They tout its Activator contains 100% organic ingredients, which are listed as oils of coconut, jojoba, hemp, and teatree (sic). However, the “Organic” logo used doesn’t appear to show any kind of official certification.

They insist DermaWow will “work like an eraser” and eliminate dead skin, revealing “bright new skin below.” This is what’s known as exfoliation and a common feature of many facial creams.

The before and after photos dramatically show the difference between rough and smooth elbows, knees, fingers, and feet rubbed with DermaWow, but there is no way to verify their authenticity. The same goes with the euphoric shoppers in the infomercial who all seem to say “wow” right on cue.

DermaWow includes:

  • 4 oz. Magnesium Oil Primer
  • 4 oz. Activator Serum
  • “Bonus” 1 oz. Finishing Touch Lotion.

DermaWow Pricing, Shipping, and Returns

DermaWow lists its price as “Only $19.95” on the website. However, there is a $9.95 shipping and handling charge, making the real total $29.94. On top of that, it seems your order is considered a 30-day supply and you will be subscribed to a monthly autoship program. We came to this conclusion by speaking with a customer service representative at the number provided, as well as the fine print on the website, which states you have a 30-day money-back guarantee “on your initial supply.” (The representative said the subscription was an optional service offered on phone orders, but there was no indication either way on the website.)

DermaWow Privacy Policy and Arbitration Agreement

There is a lot of crucial fine print on the DermaWow website. First, listed as “Terms and Conditions” is actually an arbitration agreement, which prevents you from joining any class action lawsuits or suing them alone in a courtroom. (They say you have 15 days upon receipt of the product to return and nullify this agreement.)

In addition, the Privacy Policy essentially states they can contact and solicit you about other products and services via telephone, email, or snail mail. At checkout, they give you the “added benefit” of signing up for emails and “select partners” by checking the opt-in box.

Bottom Line: Is DermaWow a Scam?

There are a lot of shady things about this company, the first of which being there is no information available about them from the BBB. Although that is an imperfect gage of a company’s legitimacy it does at least make them a bit more transparent. Secondly, it seems like you will be signing up for a monthly shipment of lotion bottles that will cost you at least $20 a pop. In addition, their loose privacy policy and tight arbitration agreement mean you have very few rights. And, perhaps most important of all there is nothing special about DermaWow that you can’t get from any lotion at the drugstore. Our suggestion is to go there and find one to your liking.

    Wow is right.

    • Aug 8, 2015

I tried it at my hairstylist's, and it was amazing. I have calloused spots on my hands and it softened them right up. I am used to applying creams several times a day and have flaky spots on my knuckles, and it smoothed my hands out completely. Like having a hot wax treatment without the time and mess. I highly recommend it. Haven 't seen anything like it.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

You've obviously never tried the product.

DermaWow is probably one of the worst names in history for a product that really is more legitimate then most high end highly marketed products I have used in my life. As I have been looking ever since my experience with it this product is not yet for sale. So unless you have had an opportunity to get a pre-product review sampling I'm wondering how it's possible to put such a negative review together.

I was given the opportunity to do a live demonstration of this at the Hillcrest Farmer's market a few months ago. All I can say is wow and again I hate that name. The product left my hands feeling different and when I say different I mean like new. I had better tactile feel in touch and a level of shades difference in color of my skin. All I can say is get some samples try the product and then rewrite your review.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
