About Emson Smoker
The Emson Smoker is a device that the makers bill as the “most up-to-date, and state-of-the-art cooking machine that sears, cooks and smokes.”
The makers claim that with it, you can prepare smoked barbecue food in your kitchen and that it reduces cooking times by 50% and also functions as a traditional pressure cooker in addition to being able to smoke food.
Emson Smoker Features
The Emson Smoker website doesn’t go into much detail about how the device works, except to say that it combines pressure baking with pressure smoking to give food an old-fashioned smoked flavor in a fraction of the time that it would normally take to smoke foods on a barbecue.
It can cook up to six pounds of food at once and it can be used for sausages, ribs, chicken (including whole chickens) and you can sear food, cook it using traditional pressure cooker methods or smoke it. The Emson Smoker also comes with a cold smoke feature for smoking cheese and fish.
It also comes with a two-year warranty.
While the website does not say how the device works, one online review said that the smoke comes from small wood chips (not included) of your choice inserted into a small cup. This cup is then mounted on a heating electrode and the chips burn, filling the device with smoke. This smoke is pressure cooked into the food. Apparently, little of the smoke smell escapes into the room until you release the pressure. Once you do release the pressure, though, the room will smell like smoke.
Online reviews for the product are mixed but are mostly positive. However, some reviews note that the product appears to be made from light, flimsy materials. Some reviewers also say you cannot get replacement parts for it when it does break and that the customer service provide by the company is poor.
Emsom Smoker Pricing, Shipping & Return Policies

The Emson Smoker has a 30-day money back guarantee. You will be responsible for shipping it back to the company. The return policy on the Emson Smoker website says that you will not be refunded your shipping and handling, but since you don’t have to pay any shipping and handling, it is not clear what this means. I LOVE IT, but darnit - can't find parts
I absolutely love this smoker. Used it consistently until the gasket wore out. I have cooked everything from hamburgers, wings, roast beef and everything is tender, juicy and fantastic tasting. Called Emson to find out that they are no longer producing them and no parts are available so they said if I send them the receipt they will issue a full refund as no parts are available. Tried to email the receipt and it would not go through. I have looked everywhere online and can't find parts. I just want it up and running again. Has anyone had any luck finding the right size gasket for the lid?
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friendView all 1 commentsHide comments

Cindy, I had the same issue and found the "Secura 6-quart Pressure Cooker EPC-600" gasket available on Amazon to be an exact fit for the 7 qt Emson. If you have the 5 qt, I am not certain it's the same size (the 5 and 7 may just be different depths but same diameter). For $9.95 it may be worth a shot. Good luck!

I have had this electric pressure smoker about six months now and it is one of my favorite appliances. I have used it to make all kinds of smoked meat, poultry (the best wings ever) fish, vegetables and cheese. I've used it for both cold and hot smoked items with excellent results every time. It works exactly as promised. I continue to recommend this product to anyone interested in making a quick, easy and flavorful smoked food product.
This unit may also be used as a regular pressure cooker. However, anything you make in it will smell like smoke. Additionally, I originally stored it in our coat closet (in the box it was shipped in) but had to move it when our coats began smelling "smokey".
The instructions indicate you can use the unit inside but I always use it on the patio.
I love it.
