About Extra View Mirror
Quickly attach Extra View Mirror to your car’s rear view mirror, and its panoramic, 180-degree view will immediately expand your visibility, while eliminating blind spots. You’ll even be able to see 300% more without turning around!
And to help make driving safer and easier, Extra View Mirror uses convex anti-glare chrome coated glass that reduces glare by up to 50%.
From anti-glare protection to its much wider viewing angle, Extra View Mirror seems like a no-brainer if you’re all about safer, more comfortable driving. Is everything as it seems, though?
We’ll start by seeing if there’s anything exceptional about this extra large mirror.
Are “Wide Angle” Rear View Mirrors Unique?
Wide angle. 180-degree. Extra large. Whatever you call them, there are literally hundreds of rear view mirror options out there very similar to Extra View Mirror. In fact, it appears to simply be a rebranding of a previous As Seen on TV product, aptly named XtraView Mirror.
Sure, you’ll find a lot of options online, but you’re also likely find at least 1 or 2 at local auto parts stores and big box retailers. The point?
Just because you saw Extra View Mirror on TV, this doesn’t mean that it’s the right product for you—especially with so many nearly identical products available. Take your time and do your research (you’ve come to the right place!), or you might end up wasting your time and money.
How do wide-angle products like Extra View Mirror work?
How Does Extra View Mirror Work?
Imagine holding a rectangular mirror in your hands, with the reflective side facing up. If you look down, you’ll see whatever’s directly above the mirror.
Then, imagine placing the back of the mirror on your knee, while applying a little bit of pressure on each end. What would happen?
The mirror would bend, or bulge, outward (also known as convex). Once this occurred, the mirror would still have the same surface area, but if you looked down at it, you’d have a wider field of vision. You’d be able to see more.
Pro tip: If you’re feeling especially scholarly, you can learn all about the physics behind convex mirrors here.
Are There Any Disadvantages for Wide Angle Rear View Mirrors?
Although convex mirrors provide a wider viewing angle, this doesn’t mean that they don’t come with some disadvantages.
Most importantly, they tend to distort images at either edge of the mirror. This means that any vehicles behind you—but to your far left or right—will appear smaller than they actually are. Sure, this is technically what allows you to see more, but it might have a tendency to throw off your depth perception.
Also, we’re told that Extra View Mirror provides 50% more anti-glare protection than standard rear view mirrors, but not how it accomplishes this.
Modern rearview mirrors reduce glare using a wedge design that reflects less light back to your eyes, which is usually accomplished with the flip of a switch or the push of a button. But there’s no indication that the Extra View Mirror has this same ability, and given its size, we’d have to wonder if it would even be convenient to move.
Finally, speaking of size, keep in mind that wide-angle products like Extra View Mirror might not work in all instances. This might be especially true in high-end vehicles with feature-packed electronic rear view mirrors (which are often thicker than standard models), or in smaller vehicles (such as convertible coupes).
Is Extra View Mirror’s price a disadvantage?
How Much Does Extra View Mirror Cost?
One Extra View Mirror is priced at $10 plus $6.99 S&H. You’ll also be able to purchase a second at checkout for an additional $6.99 S&H.
All Extra View Mirrors come with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges. In perspective? This means that if you choose the BOGO offer, you might lose twice as much in S&H as you’ll get back as a refund.
If you still decide to process a refund, you’ll need to contact Telebrands customer service at 855-668-1655.
Extra View Mirror’s Manufacturer
With more than 200 HighYa reader reviews, these products had an average rating of 2 stars, with common complaints citing failure to work as advertised, poor quality, and headache-worthy customer service experiences.
Pro tip: As we mentioned above, Extra View Mirror is a rebranded version of XtraView Mirror. This product had 2 HighYa reader reviews at the time of our research, with an average 1-star rating, primarily due to long shipping times.
Will you experience the same with Extra View Mirror? We can’t be sure, but we definitely think it’s noteworthy.
What we can be sure of is that Telebrands seems to have a spotty reputation with consumers, based on their D- rating with the Better Business Bureau (as of 9/14/15). The company also settled with the NJ Attorney General’s office in July 2015 for $550K, after they were found to have violated the Consumer Fraud Act.
Is Extra View Mirror Anything More Than an Extra Headache?
In general, ASOTV products have reputations for not performing as well as manufacturers make them seem, and for being on the lower end of the “quality scale.” For these reasons, we might have some concerns about Extra View Mirror’s ability to stand up to daily abuse and resist scratches.
And when you factor in that wide-angle mirrors are widely available (pun intended) from almost any big box retailer, it’s difficult to recommend anything other than exploring these options before placing your Extra View Mirror order.

Purchase of a Extra View Mirror
I am checking with you to see where my extra view mirror is that I purchased from you weeks ago and that I still have not received. I would like my product or I would like for you to return the money into my account. Please get back to me as soon as possible, I would appreciate that.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Has This Company FOLDED?
I ordered my Extra View mirror 6 weeks ago and have not heard a word from them since my order was placed. However, the company does specify 3-6 weeks for delivery. I really thought I would have received the mirror within 3 weeks, but at least the company has NOT DEBITED my credit card. The only thing that comes to mind is that maybe this product is coming from China on a slow boat, or they have gone out of business. I cannot recommend buying from any company that takes 3-6 weeks to ship an item (on the small side) such as this or a company that does not provide a update regarding shipment. Also, I am not seeing any more commercials regarding the Extra View mirror anymore. Maybe they did go PHFFFT?
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
