About EZ Lift

Whether you’re suffering from back or shoulder pain, arthritis, recovering from an injury, or just need a little help, EZ Lift is a patented portable handle that claims to provide the help you need to safely, securely, and easily get in and out of your car.

To accomplish this, EZ Lift is constructed of forged steel construction with a 350-pound weight limit, which attaches in seconds to the strike plate of your car’s front or rear door. Once in place, the non-slip grip and ergonomic design provide the leverage you need to provide support and peace of mind.

On top of this, EZ Lift also features a powerful built-in LED light that helps illuminate your path, a recessed safety blade that can cut through any seatbelt in the event of an emergency, as well as a precision point, glass-breaking hammer on one side. And when you’re not using your EZ Lift, its compact design allows it to be stored just about anywhere, including your glove box, center console, or door pocket.

Regardless of what’s causing your mobility issues, you know it can be a chore getting in and out of your car. But can you really expect EZ Lift to help you regain your freedom and independence, or will it just leave you feeling stranded?

First, let’s make sure that EZ Lift will work with your vehicle.

Will EZ Lift Work On All Cars & Trucks?

According to the product’s website, EZ Lift “works on the front and rear doors of every car.” However, this might not actually be the case, because at the footer of the EZ Lift website, it also reads: “Some late 1980 & 1990 vehicles may not be compatible.”

Unfortunately, no additional information is provided about this, and there aren’t any third-party websites that differentiate between 80s and early 90s car strike plates, and those with more modern designs. Considering this, if your car was manufactured in the 80s or early 90s, you might want to contact the manufacturer to verify compatibility.

Even if EZ Lift works with your vehicle, because of where the device sits, it might have a propensity to scratch your vehicle’s paint. Again, this largely depends on the size of your striker’s base plate (the section that bolts to the inside of your door).

When it comes down to it though, can you really expect it to give you back your independence?

Will EZ Lift Give You Freedom?

Ultimately, this depends on what you mean by “freedom.” In other words, can you expect EZ Lift to help you get in and out of your vehicle? If you’re not suffering from a shoulder injury (or any other type that might affect arm movement), this certainly seems reasonable.

However, if you’re suffering from a mobility issue, then EZ Lift will only help you get in and out of your car, but it won’t help you get there in the first place. As such, if you’re expecting EZ Lift to completely change how you get around, then it’s likely you’ll be disappointed.

But is EZ Lift really as revolutionary as the manufacturer makes it seem?

Products Similar to EZ Lift

Although the idea behind EZ Lift certainly seems intriguing, it’s not unique. This is because you’ll find dozens of similar (or even identical) options out there, including Car Cane, HandyBar, and Able Life.

Pro tip: For more options, type the phrase “car support handle” or “car door leverage support” into your favorite search engine, and watch how many results pop up.

In fact, these types of products are so popular that you might even be able to find one at a local retailer, which could save you time and money on S&H charges (more about this in the pricing section).

Before we get to that though, let’s talk about EZ Lift’s manufacturer.

What Are Customers Saying about EZ Lift’s Manufacturer?

EZ Lift is manufactured by Tristar Products, one of the leading companies within the “As Seen on TV” industry, who also makes Copper Wear, Clear TV, Perfecter Fusion Styler, and many more. What are HighYa readers saying about these?

With hundreds of reviews, these products have an average rating of 2 stars, with common complaints surrounding failure to work as advertised, poor customer service, and low quality. Keep in mind this doesn’t mean you’ll have these same complaints with EZ Lift, although it’s certainly worth noting.

Customer complaints aside, how much will EZ Lift set you back?

EZ Lift Pricing & Refund Policy

One EZ Lift handle is priced at $19.95 plus $7.99 S&H.

All EZ Lift purchases come with a 60-day refund policy, less S&H charges. This means by the time you ship EZ Lift back to the manufacturer, you could lose half your money in non-refundable S&H charges.

With this said, if you’d like to request a refund, you’ll need to contact Tristar’s customer service at 973-287-5132.

Should You Give EZ Lift a Try?

As mentioned above, it’s perfectly reasonable to believe that EZ Lift can make it easier to get in and out of your car. However, whether or not this helps you regain your freedom largely depends of the severity of your mobility issues.

Despite this, you have many other similar options to choose from, some of which might be available at nearby retailers. And considering EZ Lift’s non-refundable S&H charges, we might recommend exploring these local options before placing your online order.
