About Facelift Wand

The Facelift Wand is a “As Seen on TV” beauty device that claims to be an anti-aging youth rejuvenator that can tighten, firm, and rejuvenate skin like never before. As such, the Facelift Wand claims to help you experience dramatic results right away, and to help you look younger without costly or painful cosmetic procedures.

When it comes down to it, who doesn’t want to look a little younger with a few less lines and wrinkles? And when you consider the fact that the Facelift Wand claims to help you achieve these results inexpensively, while also avoiding the pain associated with surgery and other complex cosmetic procedures, it can seem like a no brainer. But not so fast—be sure to read through our entire Facelift Wand review before placing your order.

How the Facelift Wand Works

By using the same radio frequency technology as professionals, which utilize micro currents that deliver massaging thermal energy to your skin, the Facelift Wand claims to improve circulation and to tighten, tone, and smooth out facial lines and wrinkles. As such, the manufacturer claims that you can expect reduced crow’s feet, softened frown creases, diminished wrinkles, and smoothed mouth-to-nose lines in seconds.

Because of how quickly and easily it works, the FDA-cleared Facelift Wand also claims to provide you with an instant browlift right at home, and to help you look younger your first time using the device.

Facelift Wand Pricing & Refund Policy

The Facelift Wand is priced at two payments of $19.99, plus $6.99 S&H. During checkout, you’ll also be able to purchase Facelift Cream, which is claimed to work with your Wand to accelerate results, for an additional $6.99 S&H fee, bringing your total to $53.96.

The Facelift Wand comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges. In order to initiate the refund process, you’ll need to contact customer service at 855-668-1655 (see more about this in the following section).

Can the Facelift Wand Provide You with Firmer, Younger Looking Skin?

Whenever a new anti-aging device is introduced, there is typically a lot of marketing hype surrounding it, which can make it difficult to discern whether or not it actually works as advertised, as well as what types of results you can realistically expect. With this said, can the Facelift Wand really help to tighten, firm, and rejuvenate skin like never before? While it’s possible, you should keep the following firmly in mind:

Facelift Wand is an “As Seen on TV” Product

First and foremost, it’s important to note that the Facelift Wand is an “As Seen on TV” product, which typically have lower customer satisfaction ratings than mainstream products. Why? Because according to thousands of customer reviews, there appears to be a consistent pattern of ASOTV products not performing as well as they’re made to seem in their TV commercials, of being poorly constructed, and that they don’t last very long.

On top of this, many ASOTV manufacturers tend to have a reputation among consumers for customer service that is not very helpful and which attempts to upsell you numerous times throughout each call, in addition to making the refund process as difficult as possible. Also, ASOTV products come with relatively high S&H fees that are not refundable, and you can expect sales calls/emails soon after placing your order, since the company will share your information with third-party companies.

In fact, Facelift Wand’s manufacturer, Telebrands based out of Fairfield, NJ, holds and F rating with the Better Business Bureau, and most of their more than 1,700 closed complaints reference these very same concerns. To gain a better perspective about what other consumers are saying regarding these types of products from many of the biggest players in the industry, be sure to read through a few of HighYa’s “As Seen on TV” product reviews.

Keep Your Expectations Realistic

With this said, it’s important that you keep your expectations realistic when it comes to the Facelift Wand. In other words, as we mentioned in our DermaWand review, it’s fairly common sense that a $40 home-use device will almost certainly not perform as well as a professional, clinical device that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. On top of this, it’s unclear how long the device’s effects last, assuming that it works in the first place.

With this said, while microcurrents have been used since the mid-1700s to help with a wide range of ailments from paralysis to treatment for pain, they’ve only recently started being used for cosmetic purposes. As noted by this 2011 Elle article, these treatments legitimately appear to help increase “circulation for that glowy, plump-but-not-puffy look that lasted for a few hours.” However, the article goes on to note that in untrained hands the visible effects are often much less noticeable, although in either instance they seemed to last about 5 hours.

Too Early for Customer Reviews

Next, keep in mind that the Facelift Wand is a very new product (URL registered August 2014), and as such there are currently no online customer reviews that can be used to gauge overall satisfaction levels.

However, some of the most common complaints associated with similar devices are failure to provide results, an uncomfortable feeling during treatment (similar to a mild electric shock), minor skin reactions (e.g. redness, swelling, etc.), and the fact that results are not long lasting.

Difference Between FDA Cleared and FDA Approved

Finally, while it’s positive that the Facelift Wand is FDA cleared, this should not be taken to mean that it’s FDA approved. According to the FDA’s website, a device is cleared after a 501(k) premarket notification has been submitted, and the device “has determined to be substantially equivalent to another legally marketed device.” In other words, “FDA cleared” simply means that there is another device on the market that works almost identically to the Facelift Wand.

On the other hand, FDA approved devices “are those devices for which FDA has approved a premarket approval (PMA) application prior to marketing. This approval process is generally reserved for high-risk medical devices and involves a more rigorous premarket review than the 510(k) pathway.”

Bottom line: If you’re willing to gamble your money and give the Facelift Wand a shot, keep in mind that it’s common sense that may not work as well as it claims, and you’ll lose a good chunk of money in S&H fees and return shipping to the manufacturer if you’re dissatisfied.
