About Grab-It

Grab-it is a hands-free gadget mount they say will hold any device up to 10 lbs. They tout its double-sided force vacuum locks it onto surfaces including countertops and dashboards, and can be used with smartphones, tablets, GPS, or any device you want to look at but not hold.

Grab-it is another product marketed and sold by Telebrands, the ubiquitous infomercial kings that invented the “As Seen On TV” logo. Although they have numerous complaints about their dozens of products, they are accredited by the BBB and currently have an A- rating. (The BBB says this is due to the size of the company relative to the number of complaints and the prompt resolution of disputes.)

How Grab-it Works

Grab-it is a two-sided suction-mounting device; one end sticks to the surface and the other to the gadget of choice. To use Grab-it, place the bottom mount on the surface and pump twice – they say this creates a super-strong vacuum seal. Attach your device to the other cup, pump again, and you are now hands-free.

They tout Grab-it pivots 360 degrees for viewing at any angle. Some of the suggested uses are in the car for GPS or cell phones, attaching tablets to desktops, and even allowing you to follow recipes in the kitchen on your iPad while you are busy cooking.

Grab-it includes:

  • Grab-it Hands Free Universal Device Mount
  • BOGO (extra S&H)

Grab-it Pricing, Shipping, and Returns

Grab-it can be “grabbed” for $10 plus $6.99 shipping/handling for a total of $16.99. At time of order you can “buy one get one” for another $6.99 in fees. All Telebrands products come with the same 30-day money-back guarantee – if within that time period you don’t like it, you may return for your initial $10, but not any S&H you paid (and you have to pay to ship back). You must also include a written “detailed explanation” as to why you are returning or they could deny your request.

Bottom Line: Is Grab-it a Scam?

Grab-it may indeed work as advertised, but we are not fans of Telebrands’ excessive shipping fees and complicated return policy. If you are looking for a hands-free device and are interested in Grab-it, we suggest waiting a month or so until it becomes available at larger retailers like Amazon or Walgreens that has a better return policy and less fees.

    I don't recommend.

    • Lima, Ohio,
    • Dec 3, 2015

I ordered these and it took 15 days to get one set. Then 10 days later, I got the free set. Their shipping stinks. I had to call them to get my purchase.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Shipping scam

    • Keaau, HI,
    • Jul 16, 2015

First they charge a surcharge of $10.00 to ship it to Hawaii saying shipping is more expensive. Then they send it by ground shipping through FedEx Smartpost, so it takes 21 days for a 1.1 pound package to be delivered. It should have been sent via USPS Express in 3 days for $4.95. The extra $10.00 for shipping to Hawaii is 100% rip off.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Grabbit works as advertised

    • Austin, KY,
    • Jun 30, 2015

Grabbit mounted to my windshield easily and maintains its hold, even in heat. My phone stuck to it effortlessly and true to their demonstration, it does not come off. With that said, be sure to read the instructions on how to remove it. I did not, and it gripped so well, I pulled the battery cover right off my phone. Thankfully, it was not damaged and went back on. After buying mine and getting it home I found that the vacuum lever to operate the suction cup had been installed upside down. With and ink pen I was able to push the pivot pin out and reverse the lever with only minor effort. Hopefully yours will be installed correctly.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Will this work for my phone with the case on it? I have Galaxy Note 2 with heavy duty zero lemon battery installed and a phone case so I'd need this to hold up all of that.
