About Hair Vitality
Hair Vitality from Apex Vitality is an advanced hair treatment that can help regrow thicker, fuller, healthier, and more lustrous hair, while preventing hair loss.
Hair Vitality uses a natural complex of essential vitamins and nutrients to revitalize your hair follicles, which can promote hair cell growth. This includes horsetail extract, vitamin D, B-vitamin complex (including B6, biotin, and niacin), collagen, and vitamin C.
To help you figure out if this is what you can really expect with Hair Vitality, let’s first talk about the company who makes it.
The Company Behind Hair Vitality
Hair Vitality is manufactured by Apex Vitality, a company based out of Nampa, ID that makes a variety of flavor-of-the day supplements, such as ApexVitality Forskolin, Serum of Life, Serum of Youth, and more.
Here on HighYa, these products seem to come with low customer satisfaction ratings, with common complaints revolving around problems with free trials and autoship programs, poor customer service, and failure to work as advertised.
Apex Vitality also had a C+ rating with the Better Business Bureau based on 19 closed complaints (as of 9/15/15), most of which seemed to match those elsewhere online.
How Much Does Hair Vitality Cost?
Unlike many of Apex Vitality’s other products, Hair Vitality isn’t available through a free trial, and you won’t receive automatic shipments, either. Instead, Hair Vitality is available through these single-purchase options:
- 1 Bottle: $53.98
- 4 Bottles: $139.96
- 5 Bottles: $144.95
All of these options include free Standard shipping, although you can purchase Express shipping at checkout for an additional $9.99 S&H.
Hair Vitality only comes with a 14-day refund policy, which only applies if it’s in the original packaging, fully sealed, and unused. This is also less S&H charges and a $10 restocking fee.
In order to request a refund, you’ll need to contact customer service at 844-APEX-VIT (273-9848).
Pro tip: Remember, according to online complaints, you might not experience the best customer service when calling the company. To help out, be sure to read How to Deal with Customer Service & Get Results before making your call.
Now that we’ve covered Hair Vitality’s selling tactics, let’s find out if it’s effective.
Is Hair Vitality an Effective Supplement for Regrowing Hair?
This isn’t to say that these ingredients don’t come with a wide variety of potential benefits (especially if you’re deficient), just none related to hair for otherwise healthy individuals.
We covered much of this in Everything You Need to Know about Hair Supplements in 5 Easy Steps, which can help get you up to speed.
But if Hair Vitality’s ingredients won’t help, will they hurt?
Possible Side Effects for Hair Vitality
According to WebMD, horsetail “contains a chemical called thiaminase, which breaks down the vitamin thiamine. In theory, this effect could lead to thiamine deficiency.”
Niacin can cause flushing, and collagen can cause constipation, drowsiness, and skin reactions. Also, doses of vitamin C larger than 2,000mg per day can lead to kidney stones and severe diarrhea.
Important note: Unfortunately, Hair Vitality’s manufacturer doesn’t think it’s important to provide a product label on their website. So, we’re not told how much of each ingredient is contained in the supplement, or if this is enough to cause any unwanted side effects.
Outside of supplements, are there other ways of effectively improving the quality (and quantity) of your hair?
How Else Can You Boost Hair Growth?
On average, hair grows at a rate of about 6 inches per year, or about ½ an inch per month. And unless you were born with exceptional genetics, there’s really not much you can do to make it grow faster.
However, there are a variety of things you can do to improve the health of your hair, including avoiding certain hair accessories (like rubber bands, clips, etc.), consuming more iron and protein, limiting brushing, using gentle haircare products, and more.
And in the end, these will likely provide much more bang for your buck than anything contained in Hair Vitality.
Will Hair Vitality Help You “Love Your Hair Again?”
Based on the ingredients we’re told about, it’s our opinion that Hair Vitality won’t provide a good value for the money. And even if you feel like rolling the dice on the supplement, we’d have some concerns about how much of a headache it’d be to obtain a refund, given the company’s seeming reputation for less-than-stellar customer service.
Instead, if you’re experiencing thinning or otherwise unhealthy hair, the first person you should speak with is your doctor. If your scalp is unhealthy, they can help improve its ability to grow hair, and if your hair loss is caused by genetics, they may also recommend some surgical options.
In the meant time, you can start implementing some of the tips of above to put you on the path to healthier, more luscious hair!

I've tried several different hair vitamins and by far, in my opinion, Hair Vitality is the absolute best! Vitamins usually upset my stomach but I took this vitamin after dinner every night and didn't have any GI issues at all. After only three weeks not only did I notice a difference in the fullness of my hair but my family noticed a difference also. After I completed the first bottle I started using a different brand and didn't get the same results. I didn't lose any fullness or length but the process came to a halt. As a black woman, dryness of my hair strands is also a concern but my hair also appeared shinier and felt softer. I just ordered several more bottles and I would highly recommend this product. It is more costly but I think it's worth it.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
