About Hurricane Twin Spin Mop

Hurricane Twin Spin Mop is a circular, rotating mop-and-bucket they claim is better than the one in your broom closet. They say the microfiber head holds 10x its weight in liquid with no drips; the accompanying bucket has a centrifuge which, when pressed with the mop, spins itself clean and you will have a clean, dry mop head ready to use again.

Hurricane Twin Spin Mop says it’s from the makers of the Hurricane 360 Mop. Both products are sold by Telebrands, a marketing company that’s been in business 30 years and invented the “As Seen On TV” logo. Telebrands products and services receive hundreds of complaints, but they still receive an A- from the BBB due to their size and prompt response.

How Hurricane Twin Spin Mop Works

Hurricane Twin Spin Mop appears to be the same round mop and bucket sold as the Hurricane 360, minus the foot pedal that works the spinning/drying mechanism. They claim this version is lighter, smaller, and gives twice the spin of the original.

To use the Hurricane Twin Spin Mop, they say to use the mop to clean any floor without sweeping; they boast its microfiber head will pick up all the dirt. Because it’s round they claim it can get in areas a normal mop can’t. Then, when filled with dirt, dip in the water side of the bucket. Next, place in the centrifuge, and press down. They claim this will activate the spinning centrifuge and the more you press, the more it spins. They boast you will now have a mop head that is completely clean and dry.

Hurricane Twin Spin Mop Pricing, Shipping, and Returns

Hurricane Twin Spin Mop sells for $19.99 plus $7.99 S&H for a total of $27.98. (This is half the price of the original Hurricane 360 Mop.) You can add another Hurricane Twin Spin Mop and shipping will be free on the second one. You have 30 days to try Hurricane Twin Spin Mop; if you do not like, you can return it for your $19.99 (they keep S&H and you have to pay to ship it back) as long as you include a “detailed explanation” in writing. Hurricane Twin Spin says they guarantee their mop for 10 years, even if it’s you’re fault it’s broken.

Hurricane Twin Spin Mop includes:

  • Hurricane Twin Spin Mop
  • Washer/Dryer Bucket
  • Sticky buddy hair/lint remover
  • 10 year guarantee

Bottom Line: Is Hurricane Twin Spin Mop a Scam?

While they claim this product is new and improved, this seems to be the standard version of the original Hurricane 360 Mop. Many consumers complained that a “bait and switch” of the original product forced them to pay more to get the Deluxe Bucket which had the centrifuge activated by the foot pump. It looks like they’ve “spun” the basic product into this new version, touting that it’s half the size and half as heavy (which means it will hold less water and doesn’t have the foot pump) at half the price.

While reviews aren’t yet in on the Hurricane Twin Spin Mop, if the original Hurricane is any indication, there will be complaints about the mop head not spinning right, being too sticky to get clean of debris and hard to remove, the centrifuge not working as advertised, and a product that is poorly made and easily broken as well as deceptive billing and poor customer service. (This is based on our 70+ consumer reviews of the Hurricane 360 Mop.) There is a chance that some of these complaints may be addressed with this “new” version, but just to be on the safe side we suggest waiting until it’s available at Wal-Greens, Wal-Mart, or another retailer with better consumer protections.

    It's good, not GREAT.

    • Oklahoma,
    • Nov 4, 2015

I bought mine in a store and I will say it's good.

Pros: Holds water really well, lightweight, no getting hands dirty, dries pretty well in the bucket.

Cons: Cheaply made, doesn't rinse clean in the bucket, debris get stuck in mop, you still need to broom before mopping.

I like it, I really do. I just wish it was quality made and met it's expectations at the very least. Mop heads are available online. I ordered mine and they just came in. Two for 7.99 free shipping.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Gail's point of view of Hurricane Twin Spin Mop

    • Salem, OR,
    • Feb 28, 2015

I have six cats and four Dachshunds. Mopping floors in my house is a daily chore. I don't care what any product says, I still sweep my floors before mopping. I do have some major skin problems that don't allow me to use my hands to ring out a mop. Over the years I have tried and used a number of different mops. Most of them you still have to use some wrist power to ring the mop out even if you're not touching the mop. I love how easy the Hurricane Spin Mop is to rinse out and spin it dry.

It takes a little bit of skill to get used to mopping with it because it doesn't stay in position very well.

I never used the first Hurricane Spin Mop, and yes common sense says that this is the same mop bucket, but you don't have the foot peddle, which I'm sure would break a lot sooner than this version.

I still would like to know if you can buy mop head replacements. That is one of my main concerns.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have the 360 and I am having trouble with rust under the bucket and it makes a loud noise when I spin the peddle. I am looking forward to using this one and will comment on it as soon as I receive it and use it.

Yes the mop heads are available for purchase online. You get 2 and pay for shipping. I just got mine in the mail The water guard on my bucket broke but it still works properly. It is still on the cheap side but it does hold water very well.
