About LJ Ultra
Manufactured by New Vitality, LJ Ultra is an herbal supplement that claims to be “the next generation of free testosterone enhancement” for men who want to “take their overall health and wellness to the next level.” In addition to LJ Ultra, New Vitality also manufactures Trim Factor, Provanta, and a wide range of other supplements.
Despite the fact that New Vitality holds an A- rating with the Better Business Bureau, the company appears to have an overall negative online reputation, with poor customer service as the most common complaint (see final section for additional information). Regarding LJ Ultra specifically, we were unable to find any legitimate customer reviews in order to gauge overall satisfaction levels.
How LJ Ultra Works
LJ Ultra is a natural herbal testosterone supplement that is geared toward men 40 years of age an older who may have noticed a dip in their testosterone levels. As such, the supplement uses LJ100 as its primary ingredient, which is claimed to be a clinically-tested testosterone booster derived from the Tongkat Ali (also known as Eurycoma longifolia) plant. Other primary active ingredients include:
- Vitamin B6 – 2mg
- Vitamin B12 – 6mcg
- LJ Ultra™ Proprietary Blend – 360mg
- Eurycoma longifolia (root) Extract (LJ100®, Standardized to 40% Glyco Saponins, 22% EuryPeptides®)
- Natural Caffeine
- Saw Palmetto (berry) Extract (Standardized to 85%-95% Fatty Acids)
- Cissus quadrangularis (aerial parts) Extract (Standardized to 10% Ketosterones)
- Chlorophytum borivilianum (root) Extract (Standardized to 50% Saponins) Tribulus (root) Extract (Standardized to 45% Saponins)
- Velvet Bean (seed) Extract (Standardized to 15% L-Dopa)
According to the product’s website, you should take one LJ Ultra softgel twice daily, with or without food, and you may start seeing results in as little as two weeks. The company claims LJ Ultra is safe to use without side effects, though you should always consult with your physician prior to beginning any new supplement.
LJ Ultra Pricing & Refund Policy
LJ Ultra is only available directly from New Vitality, and can be purchased in four different options:
- 1 Bottle – $49.95
- 1 Bottle, Super Saver – $39.95
- Buy 2, Get 10% Off – $89.91
- Buy 2, Get 1 Free Super Saver – $99.90
The Super Saver option includes automatic enrollment in New Vitality’s auto-ship program. This means you’ll continue receiving one bottle of LJ Ultra every 30 days, and your credit card will be charged accordingly. The company claims that you can un-enroll from the program at any time, though we read countless reviews from customers who had a great deal of difficulty un-enrolling. In fact, some were even forced to cancel their credit cards in order to stop the charges from recurring.
All New Vitality products come with a 30-day money back guarantee, less shipping and handling. If you are dissatisfied for any reason within this time, simply contact customer service at 800-943-6465 or Customerservice@newvitality.com.
So What's the Bottom Line: Is LJ Ultra a Scam?
First, while the New Vitality website claims that LJ Ultra can boost testosterone and increase your sex drive, there is almost zero evidence to support this. According to the WebMD page for Eurycoma longifolia, while some studies on rats have shown an increase in sperm count from its ingestion, there is insufficient evidence to claim that it also decreases erectile dysfunction, increases interest in sex (e.g. libido), or boosts testosterone.
Second, with the exception of LJ100, LJ Ultra claims to provide many of the same benefits as New Vitality’s other testosterone enhancer, Ageless Male, despite an almost wholly different list of ingredients.
Finally, New Vitality appears to have an online reputation for poor customer service in general, and more specifically, an unwillingness to un-enroll customers from the company’s auto-ship program. In addition, the company was the subject of a 2013 class action lawsuit that involved allegations of deceitful marketing practices.
