About Mr. Lid
Mr. Lid is a unique plastic container and attached cover they say will remove clutter from your cupboards and keep food fresher longer. Their motto is “You’ll Never Lose The Lid!” because of its patented seal-safe hinge they claim isn’t available on any other food storage container. They state Mr. Lid is BPA-free, of commercial kitchen-grade quality, and made of FDA-approved and recyclable Polypropylene (PP).
Mr. Lid is manufactured by Mr. Lid Containers, a company based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin through the “As Seen on TV” brand. They are not accredited by the BBB and they currently have a D rating, due to numerous customer complaints.
How Mr. Lid Works
The Mr. Lid container set includes plastic storage units in a variety of sizes, each with its own lid securely attached. When not in use, they say they are easily storable in a cupboard, snugly fitting one on top of the other. When you do put them to work in the refrigerator, they state the airtight seal will keep food fresher, prevent spillage, and can be stacked to save space. Mr. Lid claims the containers are dishwasher and microwave safe, non-toxic, and free of BPAs which some think are harmful to children.
They say you can also use Mr. Lid to keep pet food fresh, organize hardware or office items, store arts and crafts, and more.
Each Mr. Lid order comes with:
- 2 32-oz containers
- 2 16-oz containers
- 2 8-oz containers
- 4 4-oz containers
- Second set “free” (additional S & H)
- 60 Day Money Back Guarantee
Mr. Lid Pricing, Shipping, and Return Policy
The set of 10 Mr. Lid containers costs $10 plus $7.95 S & H for a total of $17.95. When you order, you get an additional set of 10 containers for another $7.95 S & H, for a total of 20 containers for $25.90.
If you don’t like Mr. Lid, they offer to not only return your money, but also the S & H – a rarity in the world of As Seen on TV! They also promise to pay the cost of shipping the containers back to them, provided you call them within 60 days and obtain an RMA.
Bottom Line: Should You Buy Mr. Lid?
We like fresh food, we like to keep organized, and we like the concept of lid-and-container as one unit. There have been consumer complaints about leaking containers and lids that have become unattached, but it’s hard to know if it’s truly the product or just misuse. We also frown upon the BBB’s low rating of the company and the one-click ordering that doesn’t allow you to review your shopping cart or opt-out of the Buy One Get One Free option.
However, we LOVE their return policy! Most of these companies keep your S & H fees, not to mention making you pay to return the items. Mr. Lid promises to return ALL fees, reimburse shipping them back, and give you a full 2 months to do so. Therefore, if you do have a yen for freshness or an organized workspace, give Mr. Lid a try. If you don’t like it, they claim it won’t cost you a dime.

I ordered this product. Not only did they overcharge me, but their customer services line is a joke. Stood on hold for an hour. No one answered and when I called back the phone just kept ringing. This is a scam. Don't order from and save yourself from trouble.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
