Billing itself as a “complete, natural nerve pain miracle,” Neuracel is a once daily nutritional supplement that claims to use five all-natural, synergistic ingredients to relieve nerve-related aches, stiffness, and soreness, and to promote healthy arm and leg functioning.
Whether you’re suffering from neuropathy, fibromyalgia, sciatica, or another condition, Neuracel is claimed to be one supplement that does everything you need in order to keep you comfortable all day long, and to avoid prescription pain killers and their unwanted side effects, including addiction.
How Does Neuracel Claim to Work?
At its most basic, Neuracel claims to be a natural, doctor-recommended remedy for whole-body nerve pain that can help you get back to life and to resume all the activities you love.
In order to accomplish this, Neuracel claims to contain a powerful, precisely-crafted combination of natural flowers, barks, and herbs, including:
- California Poppy
- Prickly Ash Bark
- Corydalis Yanhusuo
Neuracel claims that all its ingredients are sourced and manufactured in the USA, and that its plant-based capsules are suitable for vegans. According to the manufacturer, Neuracel should be taken once daily, and you should experience benefits within a few weeks.
Neuracel Pricing & Refund Policy
Neuracel is priced as follows:
- 1 Bottle: $69.95 plus S&H
- 3 Bottles: $129.95 plus S&H
- 4 Bottles: $149.95 plus S&H
Neuracel is claimed to come with a 30-day refund policy, even if the bottle is completely empty. However, there are no specifics about the refund policy provided on the supplement’s website, although the company’s Legal & Policies page states that more information can be found in the Terms and Conditions. Unfortunately, this link was broken at the time of our research.
Even if Neuracel does come with a true 30-day refund policy, there is no phone number to contact support. Instead, you’ll have to open a support ticket through their online customer service form and wait for a reply (more about this next). Alternately, you can talk with a representative through live chat on SuccessEtc’s (Neuracel’s manufacturer) Help Desk page.
What Are Other Consumers Saying About Neuracel?
Although the vast majority of online Neuracel “reviews” are related to affiliate programs, we did find many legitimate ones on Amazon.com, although several customers claimed that the product’s 5-star ratings were actually fake reviews. However, we were unable to corroborate this.
Regardless, it seems that Neuracel has a mixed online reputation, leaning toward negative. While some claim that the supplement improved their pain (at least somewhat), others experienced failure to work (e.g. no pain relief), digestive upset/headaches, high price, and difficulty reaching someone at the company (e.g. failure to reply to messages sent through their customer service system).
Can Neuracel Help Relieve Your Nerve Pain?
Without being exaggeratory, nerve pain can ruin your life because it never goes away, whether you’re standing, sitting, or lying down. But if you’ve tried other nerve pain medications and are looking for natural relief, should you purchase Neuracel? Consider the following:
What is Nerve Pain?
Briefly, nerve pain can be caused by a wide variety of factors, including diabetes, trauma, and some medications. In fact, WebMD claims there are more than 50 known causes of nerve pain, which result from nerves acting abnormally and sending “excessive and inappropriate pain messages.”
As a result, things that shouldn’t cause pain, such as touching another object, standing or walking, or in severe cases, the sensation of your clothes against your skin, can sometimes result in debilitating pain.
But here’s the key. According to this same article, “For many people, the cause of nerve pain cannot be identified even after extensive testing. This is called unexplained (idiopathic) nerve pain, or idiopathic neuropathy. Unexplained nerve pain may still be due to nerve damage that occurred at some point, but current medical knowledge and testing can't say how, when, or why.
Between 15 million to 20 million Americans are believed to have unexplained nerve pain – about one in 10 people over age 40. It's most likely to occur in people over age 60.”
We’ll talk more about why this is important in a moment.
Neuracel Ingredients Breakdown
Next, there isn’t a product label provided on the Neuracel website, so you can’t be sure if the ingredients shown are all that the supplement contains, or the amount of each ingredient it consists of.
With this said, again according to WebMD, there is insufficient evidence showing that California Poppy, Passionflower, Lobelia, Prickly Ash Bark, or Corydalis Yanhusuo are effective for the treatment of neuropathy or other types of nerve pain.
However, WebMD does indicate that Passionflower may be helpful for anxiety. In fact, if you take a look at many of the reports on WebMD, many of these ingredients appear to be more suited for anxiety than anything else.
Neuracel’s Marketing Angle
Like many nutritional supplements we’ve reviewed in the past, Neuracel’s landing page is very long, and ultimately provides much more marketing hype and third-party testimonials than it does any usable information. Why is this important?
As we’ve researched these supplements over the years, we’ve found that many less-than-stellar manufacturers (e.g. those that provide a negative overall experience for their customers) tend to use similar marketing tactics, including claiming that the “big pharmaceutical companies” are covering up this information in one way or another.
And based on many customer reviews we encountered, it appears that your chances are 50/50 that you’ll be pleased with the supplement, and if you’re not, that you’ll have some (or in many instances, a great deal of) difficulty getting your money back.
Despite this, Neuracel’s manufacturer, SuccessEtc, holds an A rating with the Better Business Bureau, with just 10 closed complaints (as of 11/16/14). With this said, nearly all of these complaints referenced difficulty obtaining refunds.
Between the fact that:
- Nerve pain can be caused by a wide variety of factors and can result in even more symptoms, and
- That none of Neuracel’s ingredients have sufficient clinical evidence showing they can relieve nerve pain,
…let’s just say that we have some significant reservations about whether or not Neuracel can reliably provide meaningful relieve from your nerve pain.
When it comes down to it, it seems that Neuracel’s most reliable use is for the treatment of anxiety, although some online customers claim to have experienced relief from their nerve pain. But keep in mind that you’ll almost certainly find a variety of nutritional supplements for the treatment of anxiety at your local pharmacy, often priced much lower than Neuracel.
However, if you do decide to give Neuracel a try, just remember that based on numerous online customer reviews, you may experience some difficulty getting your money back.
