About New Age Massager

Claiming the be the “latest in back pain therapy,” the New Age Massager is a easy to use, customizable, prescription-strength device that claims to help relieve painful muscles and joints. In addition, the New Age Massager is claimed to used the same technology as doctors, while being small and lightweight enough to be carried with you anywhere you go.

Similar to the Icy Hot SmartRelief, the New Age Massager claims to accomplish this using TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) technology to block pain signals and to stimulate endorphins for fast, noticeable, lasting relief. The New Age Massager is claimed to feature an automatic timer, 4 reusable pads that provide maximum coverage and multiple areas of relief, 8 different massage settings, and 10 different power levels for a customizable experience. In fact, the manufacturer claims that the New Age Massager can also be used as a relaxing massage, even when you’re not in pain.

According to the New Age Massager website, the device’s pads can be applied to almost any part of the body, and most users experience a mild tingling sensation or a slight warming around the treatment area when in use.

New Age Massager Pricing & Refund Policy

The New Age Massager is priced at $29.99, which includes free shipping.

Important note: The New Age Massager website doesn’t provide some important information, including a refund policy or how to purchase replacement pads. In order to find out, we contacted the company at the 866-705-2216 number provided, but received a message stating “this number is reserved for future use.”

Is the New Age Massager a Good Method of Relieving Muscle & Joint Pain?

Whether you’re looking for relief from back pain, sore muscles, or uncomfortable joints, or are just looking for a relaxing massage, should you purchase the New Age Massager? Maybe, but consider the following:

Does TENS Therapy Work?

First and foremost, it’s important to note that a 2013 article featured on WebMD states that, “There is little research to support how — or even if — TENS really works.” In fact, an earlier article from 2009 stated more matter-of-factly that it “is not effective and cannot be recommended,” according to the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). Granted, both of these articles referenced back pain, although this would almost certainly apply to other types of pain as well.

With this said, a quick search online will provide hundreds of patients who have experienced some level of pain relief using TENS units, so despite its lack of scientific evidence, it may work for you.

Customer Reviews & Other Missing Information

Although the New Age Massager’s URL was first registered in June 2014, it appears to have recently been released. As such, there were no online customer reviews available at the time of our research.

In fact, as we noted above, the product appears to be so new that the customer service number provided on the website has not been set up. Because of this, there isn’t any information available about how to purchase replacement pads for the New Age Massager (or how much they cost), what the refund policy entails, or who manufactures the device.

However, although the promo video on the New Age Massager website was unavailable at the time of our research and only displayed an image for RightSize Smoothies, so they may be manufactured by the same company.

Privacy Policy

Finally, keep in mind that, according to the New Age Massager Privacy Policy, “From time to time, we make our customer e-mail list available to other reputable organizations whose products or services we think you might find interesting.” This means that you can reasonably expect sales calls/spam until you manually opt out.

Bottom line:

Considering the amount of missing information on the New Age Massager website, the lack of a working customer service phone number, and the lack of online customer reviews, we might recommend speaking with your physician about additional TENS devices that can potentially help relieve your back, muscle, or joint pain.

It was supposed to be a Christmas gift. Well that didn't work out. I called & I get hung up on. I never received a shipment notification. Also my money has not even been taken out! I'm so pissed off.

  • Terrible waste of money

    • United States,
    • Jan 4, 2015

My husband saw the advertisement and thought this New Age Massager would be the perfect Christmas gift. Sadly, this cheaply built device does not work. There is no customer service phone number to get the device serviced, replaced nor information to return it. The packing slip states that all shipping fees in purchasing and returning will not be refunded. Don't waste your money.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
