About New Vitality
New Vitality is a nutritional supplements manufacturer based out of Farmingdale, NY that claims to provide some of the “best, most well-researched” products available. The company claims to have been founded by a team of highly experienced nutrition and fitness experts, and that they do business by the motto of “helping people live longer and look younger.”
Despite the company’s A- rating with the Better Business Bureau and their claim to “provide helpful and friendly customer service to aid in all customer questions and concerns,” New Vitality appears to have a poor online reputation for customer service, including failure to un-enroll customers from their autoship program, even after multiple requests. Regarding the company’s products, the most common complaints we encountered included failure to work as advertised, and high price.
New Vitality Products
New Vitality manufactures a wide range of products across categories such as men’s health, women’s health, skin care, nutrition, and more. With this said, some of their most popular products include Ageless Male, FemiPro, and Provanta Plus.
All New Vitality products are claimed to be GMP-certified, and to undergo “rigid quality control inspections to ensure maximum potency, purity and quality.” However, even though the company claims to “adhere to the highest standards of ethics and excellence,” New Vitality was the subject of a recent class action lawsuit that alleges unethical marketing tactics and sales practices.
New Vitality Pricing, Shipping, & Refund Policy
Because New Vitality offers a wide range of products in different formulations, pricing can vary a great deal, though most supplements appear to be priced between $30 and $50 for a single bottle. Shipping generally costs $6.99 for one bottle, and $8.99 for two or more bottles. However, be sure to check out their Clearance section for some greatly reduced pricing on select products.
For most of their products, New Vitality will offer at least two different pricing options, which can be a little confusing. Let’s take a look at Ageless Male, since it offers the most basic example of what we’re talking about:
- 1 Bottle Super Saver: $29.95
- 1 Bottle: $39.95
What’s the difference between a standard bottle and a Super Saver bottle? The standard bottle does not include enrollment in New Vitality’s autoship program (see next paragraph), while the Super Saver option does.
As is the trend with most nutritional supplement companies, New Vitality offers the ability to receive automatic shipments every month through their autoship program. Continuing with the example above, this means that you’ll receive one bottle of Ageless Male (or whichever product you choose) every 30 days, and your credit card will be charged accordingly. According to the company’s website, your autoship program can be altered or cancelled at any time, though their Better Business Bureau page lists numerous complaints that customer service was unwilling to un-enroll customers, and that some were even forced to cancel their credit cards in order to put a stop to the charges.
In theory though, since you can cancel your New Vitality autoship program at any time, it would seem most cost-effective to check out using the Super Saver option, and then to just cancel it immediately thereafter. To save even more money, New Vitality is currently offering free shipping for all orders $99 and over.
All New Vitality products come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, and can be returned for a full refund (less shipping and handling charges) within 30 days of purchase. Simply contact customer service at 800-943-6465 or firstname.lastname@example.org to begin the process.
Bottom Line: Is New Vitality a Scam?
So when it comes down to it, what’s the bottom line: is New Vitality a scam?
Based on our research, New Vitality does appear to be a legitimate company, who claims to be passionate about manufacturing products that enhance their customers’ lived, and to be committed to high ethical standards. However, there are a couple things you should be aware of before placing your order.
First, by far the most common complaint we encountered during out research is New Vitality’s seeming unwillingness to un-enroll customers from their autoship program, despites numerous requests. In fact, we even read several stories of customers cancelling their credit cards in order to stop the charges from recurring. Outside of this specific problem, their customer service department seems to have a generally poor reputation for helping customers solve their problems. We also found that New Vitality was the subject of a class action lawsuit filed in April 2013 that involves charges of unethical marketing practices. Unfortunately, we were not able to locate any information regarding the outcome of the suit.
Second, we have some concerns regarding the authenticity of the customer reviews on their website. This is primarily because they seem grossly out of proportion with the vast majority of online reviews we encountered during out research, and the products are rated much more highly. With this in mind, it’s reasonable to assume that at the very least, New Vitality may only display positive customer reviews on their website.
Next, none of New Vitality’s products are FDA-approved. However, most nutritional supplements do not achieve FDA approval, so take this information with a grain of salt.
Finally, as with most companies, New Vitality’s 30-day refund policy does not include S&H charges, and you’ll also be responsible for return shipping charges back to the company. This means that if you decide to return a $30 supplement, you could lose upwards of $15 on shipping and handling charges alone.
I've been a long standing customer of New Vitatily for a number years, always received excellent support from customer service, handles all my concerns in a timely manner. Never a problem with canceling autoship. Goes that extra mile to make sure that I'm happy.
Thank you New Vitality.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
