About Omega Body Blueprint

Created by John Romaniello, the easy-to-use Omega Body Blueprint system is claimed to help men and women of any age remove those last few stubborn pounds, build lean muscle, and get rid of fat on your trouble areas, all in just 6 weeks.

In order to accomplish this, John claims that Omega Body Blueprint outlines 4 different training modalities, each designed with specific goals in mind, to help you go from being in good shape to great shape and to help you achieve your “omega body.”

This includes utilizing hormonal optimization to “train your body to release specific fat burning hormones that fight against that stubborn fat,” in addition to metabolic resistance training, altering your body’s insulin resistance, and adhering to intermittent fasting and dietary cycling.

Overall, the Omega Body Blueprint claims to contain over a dozen years of research in an easy-to-use system that can help you work smarter, not harder, to “incinerate fat directly from problem areas” and to achieve the body you’ve always wanted.

But what part of the Omega Body Blueprint is real, and which is hype? Consider the following:

Who is John Romaniello?

John Romaniello is a fitness expert, coach, NY Times bestselling author, and creator of well-known fitness programs such as Engineering the Alpha, The Superhero Workout, Final Phase Fat Loss, and more.

Is It Possible to Lose Fat from Specific Areas of Your Body?

Whether it’s called targeted fat loss or spot reduction, the fact of the matter is that “Ultimately, fat loss comes down not to targeted exercises, but to the basic principle of how many calories you expend versus how many you take in. Doing 100 crunches a day can effectively strengthen your abdominal muscles, but it probably will not make them any more visible unless you also take other steps to reduce your overall body fat.”

In other words, targeted fat loss is largely considered a myth by the scientific community.

What is Hormonal Optimization? Can It Help You Lose Weight?

While there wasn’t any information provided about how the Omega Body Blueprint system optimizes hormones, or which hormones are optimized (other than leptin), we briefly touched on the subject in our Leptin Shred review.

With this said, WebMD claims that “Insulin resistance generates leptin resistance. The practical advice is: Get your insulin down,” Lustig says. “How do you get insulin down? The best way is don’t let it go up. Sugar makes insulin go up. We are overdosed on sugar in this country. I think that if we got the sugar down, our insulin resistance would improve and that would help with the weight loss.”

In other words, eating less sugar will help you lose weight, which is a commonsense method that most people interested in the Omega Body Blueprint should already be familiar with.

What Does Science Say about Intermittent Fasting and Cycling?

According to EvidenceMag.com, the short answer is that:

There is no evidence that intermittent fasting will help you lose weight without a caloric deficit.

Studies that use intermittent fasting or continuous calorie restriction show that people lose about the same amount of weight.

In fact, controlled studies have shown that changing your meal frequency in any way — either eating more often or less — has no impact on energy expenditure or weight loss.

People can and do lose weight with intermittent fasting, but they’re also in a caloric deficit. The amount of weight they lose is also proportional to the size of their caloric deficit.

Don’t Believe the Hype

Finally, like many long form sales pages, the Omega Body Blueprint website resorts to some less-than-stellar (although generally effective) sales tactics to convince you to buy, including creating a false sense of urgency by convincing you that the product is only available for a short time, or that the price will soon increase. This is something we covered in our How Weight Loss Ads Convince You To Buy article.

However, don’t believe the hype. In the instance of Omega Body Blueprint, the URL was registered and last updated in February 2015, so it’s almost certainly the case that the price will not increase. Instead, it’s simply a way of convincing you to make an uninformed purchase.

Customer Feedback for Omega Body Blueprint

There weren’t any online customer reviews for the Omega Body Blueprint system at the time of our research, other than fake review websites created by affiliates which just want to throw more marketing fluff at you to get you to buy the product.

With this said, most of John Romaniello’s books have 3 to 4-star customer ratings on Amazon, with common compliments citing that they’re easy to read and contain actionable information. On the other hand, some of the most common complaints appeared to reference failure to experience results, numerous sales pitches throughout, and that they’re based on discredited science.

From a company perspective, Roman Fitness Systems, LLC based out of Glen Cove, NY holds an F rating with the Better Business Bureau, based on just 5 closed complaints (3 of which the company failed to respond to). As of 5/27/15, both available complaints appeared to reference difficulty obtaining refunds.

Can Omega Body Blueprint Help You Achieve an “Omega” Body?

Chopping to the point: Overall, because most of what we do know about Omega Body Blueprint seems to be based on overhyped claims and/or discredited science, we have our doubts that it will work as well as Roman claims.

However, if you decide to give Omega Body Blueprint a try, you can always take advantage of the 30-day refund policy. Keep in mind though that the most common BBB complaint related to Roman Fitness Systems is difficulty obtaining a refund, so you might experience the same.
