About Pocket Blower

Manufactured by Telebrands, the Pocket Blower is an “As Seen on TV” blower that claims to be small and compact yet powerful enough to remove dirt, debris, and even stones from your porch and driveway. As a self-proclaimed “revolution in lightweight cleaning technology,” the Pocket Blower claims to be the world’s smallest blower—so small, in fact, that the manufacturer claims it can be used with just one hand and can significantly reduce your cleaning time.

With Fall just around the corner and all the leaves that come along with it, you’ve likely seen the Pocket Blower being advertised on TV recently. While there’s no doubt that its small size and compact design are huge benefits when working in the yard, does the Pocket Blower ultimately live up to the hype?

How the Pocket Blower Claims to Work

Although the Pocket Blower claims to be less than 1 foot in length and under 2 pounds in weight, its 13,000RPM motor produces an 80MPH air stream that is claimed to provide all the cleaning power of an industrial blower, but at a much lower weight. Because of this, the Pocket Blower claims to be a “revolution in compact power cleaning.”

Despite its cleaning power though, the manufacturer claims that the Pocket Blower is versatile enough to clean away grass clippings from your driveway while also blowing leaves out of your flower beds, without damaging a single blossom. On top of this, the Pocket Blower can be used in your shop to clean away messes such as sawdust, while the flexible crevice extension is claimed to help you clean hard to reach areas with ease.

Pocket Blower Pricing & Refund Policy

Pocket Blower is only available from the manufacturer, and is priced at $39.99 plus $7.99 S&H.

Note: According to the Pocket Blower website, you can order the flexible crevice extension for an additional $9.99 S&H, although this was not made available during the checkout process.

The Pocket Blower comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges. If you’re dissatisfied, you’ll need to contact customer service at 855-668-1655 (see more about this in the next section).

Can the Pocket Blower Really Clean as Well as it Claims?

While the Pocket Blower’s small size and light weight certainly seem attractive, especially considering the fact that Fall is getting closer every day, is it ultimately worth the money? Perhaps, but consider the following before placing your order:

Pocket Blower Performance Claims

First, keep in mind that the Pocket Blower’s 80MPH air stream is gauged directly at the nozzle, which means that by the time it reaches any debris, it could be much slower. Also, it’s important to note that electric leaf blowers from your local hardware store, while being only slightly more expensive, can often weigh close to the same as a Pocket Blower, while offering more than 2X the blowing power.

“As Seen on TV” Status

Next, the Pocket Blower is an “As Seen on TV” product, which often come with lower customer satisfaction ratings than more mainstream products, as most complaints tend to reference poor quality products that don’t work as well as advertised, poor customer service, and difficulty processing refunds.

While the Pocket Blower appears to be a relatively new product (URL registered July 2014) with no online customer reviews, the manufacturer, Telebrands, holds an F rating with the Better Business Bureau, with many of the same complaints referenced above. Furthermore, if you take a look at HighYa reviews for some of Telebrands’ other products, such as the Ankle Genie, Amish Secret, and Bullseye Pee Pads, you’ll see many of these same complaints.

High S&H Fees

Another thing that the Pocket Blower has in common with most “As Seen on TV” products is high S&H charges that are non-refundable. This means if you’re dissatisfied with your Pocket Blower, you’ll be out $17.98, before including the money you’ll spend sending it back to the manufacturer.

On top of this, Telebrands may “use, sell, disclose, or otherwise dispose of [your] Personal Information,” which means that you can likely expect sales calls/emails soon after placing your Pocket Blower order.

Bottom line

Considering the Pocket Blower’s “As Seen on TV” status, the high S&H handling fees, as well as the lack of online customer reviews, be wary that if you place your order you may be gambling with your hard-earned money.
