Pronabolin is a dietary supplement that promises to use all-natural, clinically tested ingredients to help your body restore and stabilize its healthy level of free testosterone.
As a result, we’re told Pronabolin may be able to boost your libido, improve your sexual performance, and build strength and stamina. You’ll also be able to “reclaim your energy and vitality,” lose weight, and feel years younger.
To accomplish this, the manufacturer tells us you need to take three Pronabolin capsules daily on an empty stomach, usually in the morning.
However, on workout days, the company recommends taking Pronabolin 30-45 minutes beforehand. You can also increase your dosage by 1-2 capsules if you need a more pronounced effect.
Despite all these benefits and the dosage leniency, we’re told Pronabolin is completely safe and effective, with no negative side effects.
You’re here because you want to know what’s up with Pronabolin. Will it really “boost more than your testosterone”? Can it help you “take control of your life”?
We’ve done the research, so keep reading to find answers to these important questions!
The Role of Testosterone In a Man’s Body
When in the mother’s womb, testosterone is responsible for (among other things) forming male genitals.
However, it isn’t until puberty that this hormone really kicks in and helps turn a boy into a man by increasing the size of the penis and testes, boosting muscle and bone mass, deepening the voice, increasing height, and more.
Not all testosterone in a man’s body is the same, though:
- The vast majority is bound to sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), which works to inhibit the effects of testosterone and some other hormones.
- Free testosterone, which only comprises about 1-2% of the total testosterone in a man’s body, which is able to enter cells and activate its receptors. As such, this is considered the only biologically active form.
With this in mind, this is why Pronabolin claims to increase free testosterone in the body, and not just testosterone in general. But is there any clinical evidence that the supplement’s ingredients can help you accomplish this?
Will Pronabolin’s Ingredients Boost Free Testosterone?
Here’s what we’re told you’ll find in each capsule of Pronabolin:
- Tribulus Terrestris
- Fenugreek Seed Extract
- Digestive Proteolytic Blend (Papain, Protease, Peptidase, Bromelain, Neutral Bacteria Protease)
- Coleus Forskohlii
- Milk Thistle
- Alpha Lipoic Acid
- Eurycoma Longifolia Extract
- Horny Goat Weed
- Black Pepper Extract
Important note: There’s no label listed on the Pronabolin website, so there’s no way to know how much of each of these ingredients it contains.
By themselves, enzymes are simply substances that bring about a chemical reaction. Specifically, the enzymes found in Pronabolin are said to improve the digestion of proteins, as well as to “support the healthy digestive process” overall.
However, US News notes that outside of conditions like pancreatic insufficiency and lactose intolerance (or if you adhere to a high fiber diet), there isn’t enough clinical evidence to state with any certainty that supplementing your enzyme intake can deliver any meaningful benefits.
Forskolin is an ingredient we’ve written about quite a bit over the years, although as we outlined in The Great Forskolin Hoax, there’s zero clinical evidence that it can provide real-world benefits in humans, whether for losing weight, boosting testosterone production, or anything else.
WebMD listed eurycoma longifolia (more commonly known as tongkat ali and longjack) is listed as “possibly effective” for improving sperm quality and concentration in infertile men, but not for boosting testosterone.
Finally, black pepper extract is commonly used in nutritional supplements to improve the bioavailability of the ingredients they contain, although it doesn’t provide any benefits itself.
Outside of this, authority websites like WebMD indicate there isn’t enough clinical evidence to support the manufacturer’s claims that these ingredients will boost testosterone, increase sex drive, or anything else.
What about side effects?
Will You Experience Any Side Effects From Pronabolin?
In some instances, WebMD notes that tribulus may cause trouble sleeping, while alpha lipoic acid (ALA) can sometimes lead to skin rash.
They also mention that fenugreek can cause “nasal congestion, coughing, wheezing, facial swelling, and severe allergic reactions in hypersensitive people,” as well as lower blood sugar.
How Much Does Pronabolin Cost?
The more bottles of Pronabolin you purchase, the less you’ll pay:
- 1 Bottle: $79.95
- 3 Bottles: $209.85
- 6 Bottles: $274.75
Regardless of the number you purchase, all Pronabolin orders come with a 120-day money back guarantee, less S&H charges. Keep in mind that according to the company’s refund policy, “We cannot accept returns on overly used products.”
In order to request an RMA number, you’ll need to call customer service at 855-246-1336.
Are There Any Customer Reviews for Pronabolin?
At the time of our research, we found 26 customer reviews for Pronabolin on Amazon, where it had a 3.1-star average rating.
While several customers noted that the supplement delivered results (improved libido, increased energy, better digestion, etc.), others complained that they experienced no benefits and paid too much for what they got.
From a company perspective, Pronabolin is manufactured by Green Bracket LLC, based out of Coral Gables, FL. While we didn’t find a website for the company, we did find 62 closed complaints on the Better Business Bureau’s website (as of 10/25/16).
There, the vast majority of complaints appeared to reference signing up for “free” trials, only to be charged a high price soon thereafter—often after the customer claimed to have called the company and canceled their trial.
In most of these instances, the company responded in an attempt to reach an agreeable solution.
When reading through these complaints, we also learned that Green Bracket manufactures another supplement named Leptigen. Here on HighYa, 26 readers gave the supplement an average rating of 1 star, most of which referenced the same concerns about the company’s trial offer.
How Does Pronabolin Compare to the Competition?
The reality is that there are probably thousands of testosterone boosting supplements out there like Pronabolin, many of which contain similar ingredients formulations, although Pronabolin’s Digestive Proteolytic Blend seems to be unique.
For an in-depth look at the situation, be sure to read all about testosterone boosters.
What you’ll find when browsing through reader reviews for these supplements (and others) is that they tend to come with 2-star or lower average ratings, based around three common complaints:
- Didn’t work
- Priced too high
- Less-than-stellar customer support
Granted, these supplements are from completely different manufacturers with similar (but not identical) formulations, so we can’t say for sure that you’ll experience the same with Pronabolin.
However, based on the commonality of these complaints, along with what we learned in the previous section, it might be worth keeping in mind.
Can You Expect Pronabolin to Skyrocket Your Free Testosterone?
We’ve certainly covered a lot of territory here, but when you whittle everything down, the fact of the matter is that—according to authority medical websites like WebMD—you probably shouldn’t expect Pronabolin’s ingredients to meaningfully boost your free testosterone levels.
On the other hand, Green Bracket LLC’s 120-day refund policy is unique in the nutritional supplements industry, so it appears the manufacturer stands behind their product.
Keep in mind, though, that if you’re not satisfied, you’ll be out a few bucks in S&H charges just for giving Pronabolin a try.
