About Pure Garcinia Elite

Pure Garcinia Elite is a nutritional supplement that’s claimed to use 60% hydroxycitric acid (HCA) to help suppress your appetite, stop fat production, and increase serotonin levels, which can help guard against emotional eating. Pure Garcinia Elite is claimed to be produced in a FDA registered, GNP certified lab with only natural ingredients, and without any fillers, binders or chemical additives.

Whether your friends and family told you about garcinia cambogia or you saw an online advertisement and clicked on it, you’re here to get one question answered: Does Pure Garcinia Elite really work, or is it just more hype? Consider the following:

What is Garcinia Cambogia?

Garcinia cambogia is a tropical fruit that grows in regions of Asia, India, and Africa, and has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and cooking. More recently though, garcinia cambogia became especially popular after appearing on the Dr. Oz TV show (something that’s known as the “Dr. Oz Effect”), where he claimed that the hydroxycitric acid (HCA) contained in the rind of the fruit could help prevent citrate lyase from converting glucose into fat.

As such, your body burns your existing fat and you magically lose weight! But is there any truth to these claims?

Will Garcinia Cambogia Help You Lose Weight?

Whether we’re talking about a garcinia cambogia supplement from Pure Garcinia Elite or another manufacturer, as we outlined in our article The Truth About Garcinia Cambogia—Your Updated Guide to Separating Fact From Fiction, there is essentially zero clinical evidence showing that it can help you lose weight in any way, shape, or form.

Mind the Psychology

Perhaps due to the almost complete lack of evidence showing that garcinia cambogia (or more correctly, HCA) can help you lose weight, the Pure Garcinia Elite website uses some fairly commonplace tactics to convince you to make an emotional purchase instead of an informed one.

As we discussed in our article How Weight Loss Ads Convince You to Buy, this first involves placing an image of an attractive model in the upper left-hand corner, where your eyes are immediately drawn. This makes you think, “That’s what I want to look like!”

Then, you learn you can “start burning the fat now,” and that you can get a whole bottle of Pure Garcinia Elite for only the cost of S&H! At this point, your emotional defenses have been quickly overwhelmed, and you decide to give it a shot. And that’s when they’ve got you.

Consumers Don’t Know What to Think About Pure Garcinia Elite

Pure Garcinia Elite isn’t marketed through traditional channels (e.g. print and radio ads, TV commercials, etc.), but through a network of affiliates who earn a commission from each sale of the supplement they refer. However, these independent contractors will often resort to creating fake review websites in order to trick you into making a purchase.

Interestingly, we did locate an entry for Pure Garcinia Elite (under the company name First Opps Inc.) on the Better Business Bureau website, although they have no rating.

With this said, here on HighYa, readers tend to give most garcinia cambogia supplements fairly low ratings, with some of the most common complaints citing failure to work, difficulty cancelling trials (more about this next) and obtaining refunds, and high prices. Granted, you may not experience this with Pure Garcinia Elite, but it’s definitely noteworthy.

Pure Garcinia Elite Pricing & Refund Policy

Pure Garcinia Elite is only available through a 14-day trial, for which you’ll pay $4.95 to cover S&H, and will receive a 30-day supply of the product.

On the 14th day after your original order, you’ll be billed $87.90 for the full price of Pure Garcinia Elite. In addition, you’ll be signed up for the company’s autoship program, which means you’ll continue receiving a 30-day supply of Pure Garcinia Elite once every 30 days, and your credit card will be charged $87.90 each time.

Important note: After reviewing hundreds of products here on HighYa, it’s our professional opinion that free trials are all about getting your credit card number with no hope of cancelling before you’re charged, and that autoship programs are about locking you in to monthly recurring charges. Because of this, we typically recommend staying away from products sold through these tactics.

Outside of the trial, Pure Garcinia Elite comes with a 14-day refund policy, less S&H charges. In order to request a refund or to cancel you autoship enrollment, you’ll need to contact customer service at 800-530-7050.

Will Pure Garcinia Elite Help You Achieve Your Weight Loss Goals?

Chopping to the point: Considering the fact that garcinia cambogia has no clinical evidence proving its effectiveness, along with the manufacturer’s less-than-stellar marketing tactics, and the fact that Pure Garcinia Elite is only available through a free trial (and subsequent autoship program), we might recommend spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

    Scammers

They scammed me out of $174.62. They never stated that I would be charged automatically in the amount of $87.31. After the charge of $4.95 to try Garcinia Cambogia, I was charged $87.31 in January and $87.31 in February.

Don't order Pure Elite Garcinia Cambogia Extract online. The company that is charging my account is Goodbai.com (a Chinese company) with the host in Sydney, Australia. Now I need to get my money back. Don't be fooled like I was!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Fraudulent extortion

I "tried" the trial offer which ran out before I could ask my doctor about it. They don't tell you that they will take over $80 for each the Body Elite and the Garcinia Elite from your bank account every 30 days. I tried to cancel this with a very condescending man who eventually "canceled" my subscription. But I received another one today!

That's over $400 that they have stolen from my bank account for a product I cannot use and do not want. When I check my account, I cannot find any amounts withdrawn from an unknown source. But I am reporting this to my bank and my attorney. I am also reporting them to the Consumer Protection Agency and the BIG. I do not know my order number as I will not open these packages. This is a fraud and a scam.

Do NOT give them any information, especially a debit card or account number!

    Run!

I signed up for the "free trial" of $4.95, then two weeks later I was charged $81.73. I received a bottle on February 27th, and I was charged again on February 24th. I called immediately to cancel. I was told that I get no refund, but they would give me back a portion of my money. They constantly said that I was charged based on their Terms and Conditions. Also, in the Terms and Conditions, it says that you can return any bottle within 30 days for a refund, but you need an RMA number. They will never give you an RMA number.

I was told that there are absolutely no returns. I said, "Your terms and conditions say differently." Their reply was, "All I can offer you is $30.55 back." I asked, "But what about the return policy in the terms and conditions?" And their reply was again, "All I can offer you is $30.55 back, do you want it or not?"

This is 100% a HUGE SCAM. I was taken for $150, so do not buy this product. It has NO benefits. You will get more benefit from a glass of water from your tap. PLEASE save your money!

    Deceptive sales tactics!

    • Greensboro NC,
    • Feb 11, 2017

Like several previous reviewers, I discovered a $87.31 charge against my credit card when I got the statement weeks afterward. I immediately called the number on the credit card statement (844-744-7644), which additionally identified the company as SIE*FRESHSTARTGARCINIA TX.

I have called every day for a week and am always sent directly to voicemail. I have left a message each time, supplying my name, address and phone number and requesting (now demanding) cancellation. I have yet to receive a callback. I cannot find an address or an email address for this company.

To add insult to the injury, the product does NOT work. I fully expect another charge on my card on the 11th of this month, and I will call my credit card company and identify that charge as a fraud.

    Do not buy

I have not lost any weight, and when I got my credit card bill, it was $198! There is no way anyone can afford this, so I am canceling my order. I only ordered the FREE trial. I will call tomorrow, and I better not get any flack from them.

Do NOT order anything from them!

    Important to note: Buyer beware

Be sure to read everything you get with this product. I am out almost $200 for this because I didn't notify them soon enough to stop my order. I did not get through the first 30-day supply before I had the next 30-day supply in my mailbox. The pills made me sick to my stomach with diarrhea.

This will probably not reach their website because it is a negative comment about their product.

    Not any good

This product is not any good, and it is false advertising. Then when you try to cancel, they still want to charge you half of what they take out of your account. These people are crooks of the worst kind. Do NOT buy this crap!

It's a scam, never order this product!

    • Yonkers, NY,
    • Jan 27, 2017

I stupidly ordered this product and did not see any fine print about a 14-day trial.

Today I was reviewing my credit card account and I saw two charges from SNB NewWorld Garcinia (the first being $4.95 on 12/28/16, the second being $87.31 on 01/11/17), indicating it was something about "Direct Marketing - Continuity Subscription."

I called the company at 844-7447775 and after four tries finally got to speak to a representative named John, who I might add was pretty rude! I told him there must have been some mistake because I did not request additional bottles, and he said that I was sent an email on 12/28 (when I ordered the product) and that in the fine print I agreed to be put on an auto ship, and I have to pay this if I did not cancel within 14 days.

I don't remember ever receiving an email, so I asked him what company sent me the email, and he said garciniaelite.com. I checked my emails and sure enough, I NEVER received an email from them! I can't even find any link to the company. I told him I did not want the product (which was never opened) and I wanted to return it to get my $87 back.

He said they do not accept returns, but if I wanted to continue with the product, he would offer me a 35% discount. If they don't accept returns and did not want the bottle within the 14-day trial (which is not really 14 days to try it because of the holiday in between), what are you supposed to do? Also, they don't take into account the delivery time and it is automatically billed on the 14th day from the date you order it.

A fairly expensive lesson learned. Don't believe everything you read, and don't be a trusting individual like I was!

    Major rip off

    • Texas,
    • Jan 27, 2017

I placed an order for their FREE 14-day trial of this product on 12/30/16 and paid for the shipping ($4.95 and $5.87). I received the product on 1/4/17, therefore I was already on the fifth day of the 14-day trial period before I had even taken a single pill.

Since I had not seen any difference in my weight by 1/13/17 (which is the 14th day of their FREE trial period), I called to cancel and received two emails confirming that I had canceled. Later that day I checked my bank statement online only to find that they had already charged my account an additional $173.72!

I called their 800 number again on 1/16/17 to complain about them charging my account after I had canceled any further shipments and was told that they charged my account before I canceled it. Apparently, your 14-day FREE trial starts the minute you place the order, not the date you placed the order!

I was informed then that the charge was for the product I had already received and not future orders. Wait a minute, how can it be a FREE 14-day trial offer if you are charged for the product after you start your “FREE" trial offer?

First, she said she could credit my account for a 35% discount. After my continued arguing with her, she then said she could give me a credit for 50%. I again argued with her, and when I told her that I was going to post on Facebook about what a rip off they were and contact my attorney, she offered me a 75% discount! I told her that I expected a full 100% REFUND for the FREE trial shipment minus the agreed shipping, which I had already paid for when the order was placed. Then the call was disconnected.

Scam, rip off, bad company, bad, bad, bad!

This company is the worst I have ever dealt with online. I wish I had looked for this site before I ordered. To anyone looking to buy this product, all I can is run as fast as you can to some other company. You do not want to deal with these people!

    Scam trick to inflated charges

It is not clear that you will be charged an inflated amount of money. Yes, they say that it is in the terms and conditions, and you clicked on it, but why not put it on the front page where you know what you are getting into? Why be sneaky and not be upfront with your offering? Who does this to people?

There are many other outlets to heed this warning. Please accept my review.
