About Pure Garcinia Elite

Pure Garcinia Elite is a nutritional supplement that’s claimed to use 60% hydroxycitric acid (HCA) to help suppress your appetite, stop fat production, and increase serotonin levels, which can help guard against emotional eating. Pure Garcinia Elite is claimed to be produced in a FDA registered, GNP certified lab with only natural ingredients, and without any fillers, binders or chemical additives.

Whether your friends and family told you about garcinia cambogia or you saw an online advertisement and clicked on it, you’re here to get one question answered: Does Pure Garcinia Elite really work, or is it just more hype? Consider the following:

What is Garcinia Cambogia?

Garcinia cambogia is a tropical fruit that grows in regions of Asia, India, and Africa, and has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and cooking. More recently though, garcinia cambogia became especially popular after appearing on the Dr. Oz TV show (something that’s known as the “Dr. Oz Effect”), where he claimed that the hydroxycitric acid (HCA) contained in the rind of the fruit could help prevent citrate lyase from converting glucose into fat.

As such, your body burns your existing fat and you magically lose weight! But is there any truth to these claims?

Will Garcinia Cambogia Help You Lose Weight?

Whether we’re talking about a garcinia cambogia supplement from Pure Garcinia Elite or another manufacturer, as we outlined in our article The Truth About Garcinia Cambogia—Your Updated Guide to Separating Fact From Fiction, there is essentially zero clinical evidence showing that it can help you lose weight in any way, shape, or form.

Mind the Psychology

Perhaps due to the almost complete lack of evidence showing that garcinia cambogia (or more correctly, HCA) can help you lose weight, the Pure Garcinia Elite website uses some fairly commonplace tactics to convince you to make an emotional purchase instead of an informed one.

As we discussed in our article How Weight Loss Ads Convince You to Buy, this first involves placing an image of an attractive model in the upper left-hand corner, where your eyes are immediately drawn. This makes you think, “That’s what I want to look like!”

Then, you learn you can “start burning the fat now,” and that you can get a whole bottle of Pure Garcinia Elite for only the cost of S&H! At this point, your emotional defenses have been quickly overwhelmed, and you decide to give it a shot. And that’s when they’ve got you.

Consumers Don’t Know What to Think About Pure Garcinia Elite

Pure Garcinia Elite isn’t marketed through traditional channels (e.g. print and radio ads, TV commercials, etc.), but through a network of affiliates who earn a commission from each sale of the supplement they refer. However, these independent contractors will often resort to creating fake review websites in order to trick you into making a purchase.

Interestingly, we did locate an entry for Pure Garcinia Elite (under the company name First Opps Inc.) on the Better Business Bureau website, although they have no rating.

With this said, here on HighYa, readers tend to give most garcinia cambogia supplements fairly low ratings, with some of the most common complaints citing failure to work, difficulty cancelling trials (more about this next) and obtaining refunds, and high prices. Granted, you may not experience this with Pure Garcinia Elite, but it’s definitely noteworthy.

Pure Garcinia Elite Pricing & Refund Policy

Pure Garcinia Elite is only available through a 14-day trial, for which you’ll pay $4.95 to cover S&H, and will receive a 30-day supply of the product.

On the 14th day after your original order, you’ll be billed $87.90 for the full price of Pure Garcinia Elite. In addition, you’ll be signed up for the company’s autoship program, which means you’ll continue receiving a 30-day supply of Pure Garcinia Elite once every 30 days, and your credit card will be charged $87.90 each time.

Important note: After reviewing hundreds of products here on HighYa, it’s our professional opinion that free trials are all about getting your credit card number with no hope of cancelling before you’re charged, and that autoship programs are about locking you in to monthly recurring charges. Because of this, we typically recommend staying away from products sold through these tactics.

Outside of the trial, Pure Garcinia Elite comes with a 14-day refund policy, less S&H charges. In order to request a refund or to cancel you autoship enrollment, you’ll need to contact customer service at 800-530-7050.

Will Pure Garcinia Elite Help You Achieve Your Weight Loss Goals?

Chopping to the point: Considering the fact that garcinia cambogia has no clinical evidence proving its effectiveness, along with the manufacturer’s less-than-stellar marketing tactics, and the fact that Pure Garcinia Elite is only available through a free trial (and subsequent autoship program), we might recommend spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

Whatever you do, do not order from this company, the Excel Slim Body NOR Excel Garcinia. Besides the fact that they do not provide any benefits, their "customer service" department is extremely rude and fraudulent. A guy argued with me on the phone, issuing lies about me receiving the product, which I did not, and then blamed my credit card company for "filing a dispute," so because of that, I "would not receive a refund."

    Totally ridiculous.

    Predatory

As in all the above reviews, I fell for the trial angle. They do not indicate what the products will cost prior to the trial. That is why what they are doing should be illegal. You are obligated to pay whatever they choose. Pure extortion.

I had the rep give me his "employee discount," and he funded 50% of what I paid. He tried to explain that my credit card company would eventually make me pay for it. I told the guy that he should work for people that aren't out to charge people's credit cards fraudulently. Karma. Meanwhile, I blocked all ads from Facebook.

    RIP OFFS DO NOT ORDER

This place is a scam. Had I seen this site with reviews I never would have ordered product. There is not even a real address to notify BBB so these scammers have made millions on scamming and horrible business practices. Read the fine print but even then, they will charge your credit card. If you were sucked in by the ads change your credit card immediately or recurring charges will occur. The product does not even work which seems like another slap in the face.

    Fraud

    • Florida,

I have the same exact facts as shared on previous posts. I thought it was a "trial" order but then was charged $87.31 in addition to the $4.95 trial fee.

By the time I saw this on my credit card statement I had received a second bottle, that I did NOT order, and was told I was on a "recurring auto-ship order," none of which was on the initial trial order website. I called my credit card company and stated it was fraud. They said they would investigate and gave me a credit on my statement.

Then I had a second charge from the second (un-ordered bottle) and called my credit card again. They sent me the screenshots that were sent by the PURE ELITE GARCINIA company (as in previous posts I don't even know their exact name!) as part of the investigation, and because the screen shots showed that I had ordered from them (it was my online order for the TRIAL bottle), my credit card company reversed the credit they had given me and charged me the full $174.62 for the two bottles.

But get this; the screen shots said I had ordered an age-renue wrinkle formula the first time and a colon cleanse the second time (and my own credit card's fraud investigative team didn't even catch that this was supposed to be a recurring auto-ship of the same produce named "pure elite gardenia", but the PURE ELITE company gave them screenshots that were also fraudulent)!

I never ordered the wrinkle cream or colon cleanse, and it showed that both were the same $87.31 price! Convoluted, unethical, and illegal on the side of the Pure Elite company and totally incompetent by my credit card company that I had been with for 15 years with no report of previous fraud claims.

Needless to say, I canceled my credit card before Pure Elite could charge me again because my own credit card company believed them.

YES, I am still fuming at both companies, but mostly that I was stupid enough to order it in the first place. I haven't even taken one pill! Who knows what is in it if the company is that fraudulent!

They should be banned from the internet!

Never purchase from this fraudulent company!

I initially purchased only one item and was instantly charged an additional item. This sent a signal to me that this could be fraud. Since the fee was approximately $10.00, it did not matter at the time. After taking the drug, I felt strange and immediately discarded the two items.

A few weeks later my bank account was charged $170.00. I was outraged at what had happened to my bank account. When contact was made about the matter, requesting a refund, I was told the drug was a trial and that I would not be given a refund since the trial period had ended. They did agree to close my account. I felt robbed and scammed!

This is a fake company and should be banned from the internet! I hope this scam will be taken seriously when reviewed.

    Scammers

They scammed me out of $174.62. They never stated that I would be charged automatically in the amount of $87.31. After the charge of $4.95 to try Garcinia Cambogia, I was charged $87.31 in January and $87.31 in February.

Don't order Pure Elite Garcinia Cambogia Extract online. The company that is charging my account is Goodbai.com (a Chinese company) with the host in Sydney, Australia. Now I need to get my money back. Don't be fooled like I was!

    Fraudulent extortion

I "tried" the trial offer which ran out before I could ask my doctor about it. They don't tell you that they will take over $80 for each the Body Elite and the Garcinia Elite from your bank account every 30 days. I tried to cancel this with a very condescending man who eventually "canceled" my subscription. But I received another one today!

That's over $400 that they have stolen from my bank account for a product I cannot use and do not want. When I check my account, I cannot find any amounts withdrawn from an unknown source. But I am reporting this to my bank and my attorney. I am also reporting them to the Consumer Protection Agency and the BIG. I do not know my order number as I will not open these packages. This is a fraud and a scam.

Do NOT give them any information, especially a debit card or account number!

    Run!

I signed up for the "free trial" of $4.95, then two weeks later I was charged $81.73. I received a bottle on February 27th, and I was charged again on February 24th. I called immediately to cancel. I was told that I get no refund, but they would give me back a portion of my money. They constantly said that I was charged based on their Terms and Conditions. Also, in the Terms and Conditions, it says that you can return any bottle within 30 days for a refund, but you need an RMA number. They will never give you an RMA number.

I was told that there are absolutely no returns. I said, "Your terms and conditions say differently." Their reply was, "All I can offer you is $30.55 back." I asked, "But what about the return policy in the terms and conditions?" And their reply was again, "All I can offer you is $30.55 back, do you want it or not?"

This is 100% a HUGE SCAM. I was taken for $150, so do not buy this product. It has NO benefits. You will get more benefit from a glass of water from your tap. PLEASE save your money!

    Deceptive sales tactics!

Like several previous reviewers, I discovered a $87.31 charge against my credit card when I got the statement weeks afterward. I immediately called the number on the credit card statement (844-744-7644), which additionally identified the company as SIE*FRESHSTARTGARCINIA TX.

I have called every day for a week and am always sent directly to voicemail. I have left a message each time, supplying my name, address and phone number and requesting (now demanding) cancellation. I have yet to receive a callback. I cannot find an address or an email address for this company.

To add insult to the injury, the product does NOT work. I fully expect another charge on my card on the 11th of this month, and I will call my credit card company and identify that charge as a fraud.

I have not lost any weight, and when I got my credit card bill, it was $198! There is no way anyone can afford this, so I am canceling my order. I only ordered the FREE trial. I will call tomorrow, and I better not get any flack from them.

Do NOT order anything from them!

Be sure to read everything you get with this product. I am out almost $200 for this because I didn't notify them soon enough to stop my order. I did not get through the first 30-day supply before I had the next 30-day supply in my mailbox. The pills made me sick to my stomach with diarrhea.

This will probably not reach their website because it is a negative comment about their product.
