About Red Copper Mug
Red Copper Mug’s ceramic-infused dual-wall construction promises to create a seal that keeps coffee fresh and flavorful all day long. Not only this, but we’re also told it’ll keep your coffee hot or your iced drinks cold.
According to the company, Red Copper Mug’s patented drip guard and leak-proof lid make it perfect for enjoying your coffee on the go, while the bottom vacuum seal is supposed to lock onto any surface. This way, they claim you’ll be able to hit it from any direction and it won’t release until lifted straight up.
Based on what we learned in the commercial, it certainly seems like Red Copper Mug packs a lot of useful features. But does that mean it’ll deliver great value? This is ultimately what we’ll spend our time exploring in this review.
First up: how does Red Copper Mug work its magic?
How Do Travel Cups Like Red Copper Mug Work?
Just like with cookware, different coffee mug materials retain heat better than others. For example, stainless steel (while rugged) is a very dense material that doesn’t do much to prevent electron transfer, and therefore heat loss.
On the other hand, ceramics (there are many different kinds and qualities) contain pores, or small pockets of air, that slow down this electron transfer. This way, they can help drinks remain hot for longer periods of time.
Like most double-walled travel cups, Red Copper Mug’s ceramic can help reduce electron transfer and heat loss.
Will Red Copper Mug Really Keep Drinks Hot or Cold All Day?
With this said, here’s an important factor to keep in mind: Although Red Copper Mug’s commercial mentions “vacuum” on several occasions, this only references the bottom suction feature, but not the mug itself. The word “seal” is also mentioned on several occasions, which doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a vacuum being created.
What’s the point? Red Copper Mug is not a vacuum flask, which will be able to retain heat much longer than a standard double-walled travel mug.
Furthermore, there’s also a meaningful performance difference between double-walled vacuum flasks and insulated vacuum flasks (the latter will boost heat retention capabilities even more).
Compared to Red Copper Mug, this means a vacuum flask would probably deliver longer-lasting results. However, because vacuum flasks require a standard lid, they generally won’t provide the same drip guard feature as Red Copper Mug.
So, while Red Copper Mug might be able to keep coffee at a suitable temperature for a couple hours, we think it’s probably a bit of a stretch to say that it’ll work “all day long.”
Now, let’s find out what the competition looks like.
Are There Any Other Products Like Red Copper Mug?
You can search online for several different variations, such as “ceramic travel mug,” “portable ceramic mug,” “ceramic coffee travel mug,” and more, but whichever term you choose, one thing’s for certain: Red Copper Mug has tens of thousands of direct competitors.
Granted, not all of these are designed exactly like Red Copper Mug. But if you’re looking for the basic double-walled design, no-spill lid, and drip guard though, you’ve got choices galore. In fact, you can even find the vacuum flasks we discussed in the previous section for about the same price.
Speaking of which, how much will you pay for Red Copper Mug?
How Much Does Red Copper Mug Cost?
One Red Copper Mug will cost you $19.99, plus $7.99 S&H. During checkout, you’ll be able to purchase a second for an additional $7.99 fee.
All Red Copper Mugs come with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H. To make good on this guarantee, BulbHead (a division of Telebrands) customer service can be reached at 855-668-1655.
Are There Any Online Customer Reviews? Who Makes Red Copper Mug?
It’s usually the same story when we review ASOTV products: they’re often very new, without any online customer reviews, and the same holds true for Red Copper Mug.
However, BulbHead is a retail division of ASOTV giant Telebrands, the largest company in the industry who’s responsible for recent hits like Hurricane 360 Spin Mop, TouCan Can Opener, Pocket Hose Ultra, and many others. They even make a whole line of Red Copper branded products, such as Red Copper Pan, Red Copper Square Pan, and Red Copper Roller Blade.
What are customers saying about them?
Like most ASOTV products, whether from Telebrands or another company, they often come with 2-star average ratings or lower, based primarily on complaints of poor quality/functionality and less-than-stellar customer service. Just to reemphasize though, this is industry-wide, and not necessarily specific to Telebrands.
As a company, Telebrands got into some hot water with the NJ State Attorney General in 2014, who claimed that they violated the Consumer Fraud Act. After going to court, the two parties ended up agreeing to a $550K cash settlement, and Telebrands admitted no wrongdoing.
Is Red Copper Mug Your All-Day Solution for Hot, Flavorful Coffee?
When it comes down to it, we have no doubt that Red Copper Mug’s double-walled ceramic construction can help keep coffee hot for longer periods of time, while retaining much of the original flavor. The question, though, is this: Based on Red Copper Mug’s price, can you purchase anything from the competition that might deliver greater overall value?
While personal preference can play a big part in determining value, let’s answer the question from two objective points: price and performance.
As mentioned above, insulated vacuum flasks will deliver the best heat retention for the money, many of which can be purchased online (or even locally) for about the same price as Red Copper Mug. On top of this, it’s important to factor in Red Copper Mug’s non-refundable S&H charges, which means you could lose nearly $20 of your refund if you chose the BOGO offer.
Based on these factors, did you decide to buy Red Copper Mug? If so, we want to know about its performance in your review below!

I received two mugs in two weeks and filled one with ice and one with hot water. After 24 hours, it still had a third of the ice. The hot water was still hot after four hours, but I forgot to check it later.
One thing I noticed was that the mug with hot water in it would lift straight up to release, but the mug with ice, no way, I had to slide it to the side to get it off. I removed the rubber gasket on the bottom, and now there is no problem.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
