About Shower Wow
Shower Wow is a translucent, universal shower head that automatically changes between colors like orange, red, purple, teal, green, and more. All you have to do is:
- Remove your existing shower head.
- Quickly and easily install Shower Wow.
- Watch the “cascade of color,” which is powered using water pressure. No hardware or batteries required!
Sure, you can probably already imagine your child enjoying Shower Wow during bath time. But the company also claims that it can “transform your shower into a relaxing experience,” which might make it ideal for adults as well.
Should you buy it? We’ll cover all of Shower Wow’s important aspects so you can make a more informed decision.
Is Shower Wow Unique?
We’ve reviewed hundreds of “As Seen on TV” products here at HighYa, and one thing we’ve learned is that manufacturers want you to think their products are unique or revolutionary. The reality though, is that they’re often anything but.
Type the phrase “LED shower head” into any search engine, and you’ll quickly find that you have a lot of options to choose from, whether online or at your local hardware store. Sure, some of these might only feature 1 or 2 colors, and some are priced higher (many are not), but the point is that you have choices.
Regardless of the option you choose, most LED shower heads like Shower Wow work pretty much the same. We’ll discuss this next.
How Do LED Shower Heads Like Shower Wow Work?
Because most LED shower heads don’t feature batteries (what a pain they’d be to change!), they obtain their power from small turbines located on their inside.
Basically, as water flows through these shower heads, the pressure spins their turbines, which generates a small amount of electricity to power the lights.
While it’s positive that you won’t have to replace any batteries with Shower Wow, you also won’t be able to replace any of its bulbs when they burn out. Fortunately, most high-quality LEDs will last about 50,000 hours, so you probably won’t have to worry about this for a long time.
Or will you? In other words, does Shower Wow contain high-quality LEDs? Is the product itself a quality piece of equipment?
To answer this, let’s first talk price.
How Much Does Shower Wow Cost?
One Shower Wow head costs $14.95 plus $7.95 S&H. You’ll also be required to purchase a separate Twinkle Tub Light for an additional $5 S&H, bringing your total to $27.90.
Shower Wow comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges. Did you catch that? This means if you decide to return Shower Wow, you’ll end up losing more in S&H charges than you’ll get as a refund!
To request a refund, you’ll need to contact the company at 262-787-2033. Note: Long distance charges may apply.
A Note about Shower Wow’s Manufacturer
There was only 1 HighYa reader review for these products at the time of our research, which referenced overcharges and poor customer service.
Will you experience the same with Shower Wow? It’s difficult to say, although the information above is certainly worth keeping in mind.
Will Shower Wow Turn Bath Time into Party Time?
Let’s recap what we’ve learned so far.
We know that products like Shower Wow are readily available through many retailers, especially hardware and home improvement stores, often for about the same price. We also know that Shower Wow’s manufacturer makes a variety of other ASOTV products, and they might not offer the best customer service.
In addition—although this might be obvious—keep in mind that in order for Shower Wow to work well, the bathroom needs to be dark. And if you’re not used to taking pitch black showers (or bathing your child in the dark), this could cause some disruption in your routine. Some might even consider it downright undoable.
Finally, if you watched the Shower Wow commercial, you probably noticed that it starts by showing black and white (read: boring) images, which is then turned into a club-like experience after Shower Wow is activated. Again, unless your bathroom is near dark, the light put out by Shower Wow’s LEDs probably won’t any more mesmerizing than one of those $0.25 balls that light up when they bounce.
Given all of this, Shower Wow could be considered best suited toward babies and toddlers. Even then, to save yourself from losing S&H charges and a potentially frustrating customer service experience if you’re dissatisfied, we’d recommend exploring local options first.

A waste of money
I bought the Shower Wow for my son two days ago and as of today it no longer lights up. I don't know what happened to it and i don't know how to fix it. There are no instructions for troubleshooting included so the only option left is to either return the broken one or buy a new one. It really sucks big time.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
