Created by Mike Chang, Six Pack Sleep is claimed to be an all-natural anabolic supplement designed to put your body in a deeper and more restful sleep, while enhancing the production of growth hormone and testosterone, thereby increasing muscle growth and accelerating your fat burning metabolism. Because of this, Six Pack Sleep is claimed to be the first sleep formula designed for fitness enthusiasts, bodybuilders, and strength athletes.

Plain and simple, you want to look good with your shirt off. And by maximizing the amount of time your body can recover, it makes sense that your efforts in the gym can be improved by changing your habits at night. But is there anything that links Six Pack Abs with better sleep and improved fitness? We’ll get to that, but let’s first take a look at how Six Pack Sleep claims to work.

How Does Six Pack Sleep Claim to Work?

According to the Six Pack Sleep website, there are 3 primary things that you must do in order to lose fat: work out, eat right, and recover—and the majority of the latter involves sleep. Mike claims that when you achieve deep REM sleep, your body produces testosterone and growth hormone, which naturally enhances your muscle and fat burning metabolism. However, if you overlook this crucial window and don’t get enough deep sleep, it can impede your progress and stifle your level of fitness.

To address this, Six Pack sleep is claimed to have been researched and formulated with the help of scientists at the Afterburn Nutrition Research Center over the course of 6 months, and to include a unique blend of natural ingredients that help you fall into a deep, restful sleep, faster and for longer periods of time. And by extending this crucial period of sleep, Six Pack Sleep is claimed to keep your body in a perfect hormonal environment, and to maximize its natural fat burning and muscle building ability.

Important note: There isn’t an ingredients list or product label provided on the Six Pack Sleep website, although the citations provided on the FAQ page include references to BCAA, melatonin, Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), zinc, glutamine, magnesium, and valerian. We’ll talk more about this next.

The product’s website claims that you should take 2 capsules of Six Pack Sleep approximately 15 minutes before going to bed, and you need to make sure you have about 8 hours available for sleep. The supplement is claimed to help you wake feeling refreshed without any grogginess the next day.

Can You Really (Get 6-Pack Abs) While You Sleep?

It’s no secret that sleep acts as your body’s recovery time, whether mentally or physically, so it’s a no-brainer that getting the optimum amount of sleep can help provide a wide range of benefits. Keeping this in mind, for the purposes of this review, we took a look at Six Pack Sleep’s ingredients from 2 different perspectives:

  1. Can the ingredients in Six Pack Sleep help you sleep better, and
  2. Can these ingredients help maximize your fitness, outside of the recuperative benefits of sleep?

With this said, WebMD claims that BCAA can help prevent the breakdown of muscle during athletic performance, although it’s unclear whether this results in improved performance. So if you worked out earlier in the day, it would seem that the BCAA contained in Six Pack Sleep might help prevent muscle degeneration, but will not help you sleep better.

On the other hand, melatonin appears to help patients fall asleep more quickly, but only by about 12 minutes, although it has not been shown to improve sleep quality (e.g. longer or deeper sleep). Valerian may be effective for improving the inability to sleep, although it’s likely less effective than sleeping pills, and may take days of continuous use in order to experience any benefits.

Finally, although Six Pack Sleep’s other ingredients may provide some health benefits, GABA, zinc, glutamine, and magnesium have not been shown to improve fitness or sleep.

Given all this, a disclaimer on Six Pack Sleep’s ordering page states: “Although these ingredients have been extensively studied, these results are not purported to represent the results a typical user may get from using the complete Six Pack Sleep formulation.” Based on the available evidence, we’d probably agree with this too.

The good news is that Six Pack Sleep’s ingredients are generally considered safe when taken in their recommend dosages, although everyone’s body is different, so yours may react differently. However, we’re not advised how much of each ingredient Six Pack Sleep contains, so there’s no way to know if they exceed these recommendations.

Can Six Pack Sleep Maximize Your Fitness Regimen?

Chopping to the Point: Just like with Afterburn Fuel (one of Mike Chang’s many other supplement formulations), based on the lack of clinical evidence showing the ingredients in Six Pack Sleep can provide you with any benefits—above and beyond helping you to prevent muscle degradation and to fall asleep slightly faster—we’d have a hard time agreeing that it’s worth the high price.

In fact, if you were so inclined, you could likely purchase the only 3 ingredients in Six Pack Sleep proven to provide any fitness/sleeping benefits (BCAA, melatonin, and valerian) separately from your local pharmacy, probably for less money.
