About SkinTek

Using a “revolutionary, all-natural formula,” SkinTek cream promises to help you quickly and easily get rid of unwanted moles, skin tags, and discoloration from the privacy of your home.

The manufacturer claims that SkinTek is so effective that it can deliver results in as little as eight hours.

We’re also told that SkinTek’s ingredients are safe to use anywhere on your body. And that their long-lasting cream doesn’t just work on moles and skin tags, but that it can also help keep your skin clean, luminous, and clear.

Bottom line: Is SkinTek worth the price? Are there other options that might deliver similar results? Let’s get you some answers by starting with the basics.

What Are Skin Tags & Moles? Are They Dangerous?

Skin tags (medically known as acrochorda) are skin growths that often appear in skin creases, making them common in areas like the neck, armpit, eyelids, and groin. They’re common enough that nearly 50% of the population will acquire a skin tag at some point.

While their raised appearance and fleshy stalk might be considered unsightly, the good news is that skin tags are generally benign (non-cancerous) and represent little cause for concern.

Moles, on the other hand, form when melanocyte cells, which give skin its pigment, clump together. While most of our moles are acquired long before adulthood, as we age and expose our skin to the sun, these moles can become darker.

It's important to keep an eye on your moles since changes in their color, shape, size, or height could represent an increased risk of melanoma, or skin cancer.

Whether you're worried about moles or skin tags, your physician can typically remove these quickly and with little-to-no pain in their office. However, if you're looking to save money and avoid a trip to the doctor, will the ingredients in SkinTek provide similar results?

Are SkinTek’s Ingredients Effective for Mole or Skin Tag Removal?

Although SkinTek’s manufacturer boasts their ingredients are “natural” and “amazing,” we’re only told about two: tea tree oil and aloe vera.

Derived from the leaves of the tea tree, tea tree oil is thought contain chemicals that kill bacteria and fungus while reducing allergic skin reactions.

As a result, WebMD lists the ingredient as “possibly effective” for addressing mild to moderate acne (sometimes as well as 5% benzoyl peroxide), addressing fungal nail infections, a relieving athlete’s foot.

However, it’s important to outline that they recommend the following concentrations:

  • 100% tea tree oil, applied twice daily for six months for nail fungus.
  • 10%-50% tea tree oil applied twice daily for one month to treat athlete’s foot.
  • 5% tea tree oil applied daily for acne

The point? There are two.

First, we’re not told what tea tree oil concentration you’ll find in SkinTek, so we can’t know if you can expect to experience any of the same.

Second, even if we could verify that SkinTek’s tea tree oil was available in the appropriate concentration, WebMD indicates that there’s insufficient clinical evidence indicating it can meaningfully address skin tags or moles.

What about SkinTek’s aloe vera? The gel (cells in the center of the leaf) and the latex (cells just underneath the leaf skin) of this cactus-like plant contain chemicals that can help improve blood circulation, reduce bacteria, and reduce irritation.

While you might think these benefits make aloe vera ideal in SkinTek’s formula, WebMD doesn’t indicate that it’s effective for addressing skin tags or moles.

What About SkinTek Side Effects?

Tea tree oil should be safe for most individuals, although WebMD indicates it can cause irritation and swelling in some instances. Also, if you suffer from acne, it can lead to drying, itching, and redness.

On the other hand, aloe vera might be able to address some of these side effects, since it can help hold moisture against the skin.

The company notes that you should “always have your moles checked by a licensed physician before taking any actions yourself.” Additionally, their disclaimer reads:

"Do not use SkinTek if you are prone to scarring or keloid scars. We do NOT guarantee that the product will NOT cause a scar or blemish. Whenever attempting to manipulate or change the dermis, one should expect that a blemish or scar may result. In most circumstances, the use of the product will result in a minor and temporary blemish that normally fades away within 90 days."

How Much Does SkinTek Cost? Are There Different Formulations?

While we’re not told about the differences in their ingredients, SkinTek apparently is available in Regular and Advanced formulas:

  • Regular – One bottle can be used on up to four moles or skin tags, with results in 7-10 days: $29.95
  • Advanced – A “stronger, faster” solution that can be used on up to 12 moles or skin tags, with results in as little as eight hours: $39.95, or two bottles for $79.95

Regardless of which formulation you choose, all SkinTek orders come with an unconditional 60-day money back guarantee, less S&H charges. In order to request one, customer service can be reached at 844-347-0748 or support@tryskintek.com.

Is This Arbitration Agreement Important?

Really quick: All SkinTek purchases are subject to an arbitration agreement. This means that, should you have a legal problem with the company, you agree to binding arbitration instead of going through the court system.

As a result, you’ll waive many of your inherent legal rights as soon as you place your order, including becoming part of a class action lawsuit.

How does this compare to the competition?

Are There Other Skin Tag & Mole Removal Creams Like SkinTek?

In four words? There are a lot. Which is something you can see for yourself by entering the phrase “skin tag remover” or “mole remover” into just about any search engine.

If you walk the aisles of your local pharmacy, you’ll almost certainly find at least a couple skin tag remover creams as well, which could help prevent an online order and paying the associated shipping.

We’ve even reviewed a couple of popular options here at HighYa, including Tag Away, Revitol, and Miracle Plus.

As mentioned above, many of these feature similar ingredients to SkinTek’s formulation and might, therefore, deliver similar results. But the biggest difference is price since much of the competition can be purchased for $10 to $20.

From a customer perspective, are they finding SkinTek’s higher price worthwhile?

Are SkinTek’s Customer Reviews Positive?

There weren’t any online customer reviews for SkinTek at the time of our research, which is no surprise since the company’s URL has only been registered since October 2016.

It appears that SkinTek is owned by Venom Advertising, LLC, based out of San Diego, CA, although almost no additional information was available about them on third-party websites.

What does this mean for you? Let’s go ahead and bring together everything we’ve discussed so far.

When It Comes to SkinTek, What Do We Really Know?

Look, it’s completely understandable if you’re self-conscious about the appearance of skin tags or moles, and that you want to avoid going to the doctor and save money at the same time.

But based on what we’ve learned here, SkinTek basically amounts to an unknown formulation of ingredients, in unknown dosages, and from a completely unknown manufacturer.

To boot, the product is too new to have garnered any customer feedback and most of the competition—using the same key ingredients—is meaningfully less expensive.

Need even more food for thought? One of the product’s websites addresses SkinTek as a cream, while another insinuates that it’s some kind of liquid drops.

Is SkinTek’s mole and skin tag removal formulation a cream or liquid drops? What ingredients does it contain? In both instances, we’re simply not told.

Should you purchase SkinTek? You earned your money, so you get to decide where to spend it. But if you gave the skin tag and mole removal cream a try, be sure to tell us about your experience in your review below!

Have not even received it, am I am upset with charges! I bought it at $39.99, and it said I got free shipping, so ok, I would try it. I, being retired, never pay shipping. I saw that the total was over $16 for shipping after you order. I called to talk to a young lady that I could barely understand, I explained the shipping charge, and she said no, it's too late to remove it.

Ok, when I get it, it will be returned unopened. I am retired from skin- hair business, and I don't buy this bull. If you want me to be a spokesman for your product like I am for Clinique, give me free shipping. I can sell the product by telling my friends, they ask my opinion on products all the time. I'm sorry I ordered from this company!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Total scam, Do NOT waste your money

    • Longmont, CO,
    • Jan 16, 2017

I ordered this product to try it out and figured it was worth the small price if it worked. It doesn't.

Then I suddenly was shipped a second order and charged again the next month. No big deal, since the company states they have a 60-day money back guarantee. Wrong! I called within 60 days to cancel the recurring order that I didn't know had been placed, and ask for a refund. Then they would not give me a full refund for either order. They only gave a 50% refund for the second one and told me if I sent the second product back it would cost me shipping and a 30% restocking fee.

This is a terrible company with a terrible product that makes money by scamming people. Please run the other direction and don't waste your money like I did!

    Worthless product

Do NOT purchase SkinTek, it has the same effect as a regular skin lotion. The order is monthly with a poor return policy. This worthless cream keeps showing up like a bad habit.

    Never received products

SkinTek, when ordering, immediately charges for upgrade and downgrades. I asked for the $46.95 size, and they automatically charged my card for a beginner's jar as well.

It is almost January 2017, and I have not received my first order (ordered around the last part of November). Then when I complained the 3rd-week of December, they told me they would mail it to me because she found no track of the order. They turned around and charged me again for a product I have not received. I had to change my credit card out to keep them from repeatedly charging it while I'm not even receiving the product.

I called and asked that they stop charging my card. As of December 26, 2016, no product was ever received.

    SkinTek does not do anything

I tried SkinTek on several skin tags and a mole, with no effect at all. I even tried applying it daily, without washing it off. The directions tell you to apply once, wash off after half an hour, then wait for a few days to see results. I applied everyday without washing it off and all I got was moisturized skin. I hope I can now get my money back.

If SkinTek actually worked, every store in the country would be selling it.

    Worthless product, unethical company

    • Philadelphia, PA,
    • Jan 6, 2017

I had similar results as everyone on here has had, this company is a scam.

First of all, the bottle came shortly after I ordered it, and it was a beautiful bottle, probably worth the $46 I paid for it, leaving the cream inside worthless.

There were NO instructions on the bottle and couldn't find any online. I emailed the company and they told me to apply it twice a day. So far it's been five weeks and NOTHING. I thought I'd give it the full 60 days the guarantee promised me so kept applying it.

Secondly, I got another bottle in the mail yesterday that I never ordered. I also saw that I was charged for it on my card. Now I'm really mad.

Thirdly, I called today and spoke with a representative who told me I got the second bottle because I was signed up for "autoship". Well, that was news to me, since I was never given the option to sign up, or out of autoship.

I demanded my money back, and she refunded me for that bottle immediately (although I do have to send it back to them on my nickel). When I told her I wanted a refund for the original bottle because the stuff is not doing what it's supposed to do, she told me I was out of the 30 day period. I told her when I ordered, it stated that it was a 60 day period. She went and double checked it, but came back saying there was nothing anywhere about a 60-day satisfaction guarantee period.

I lost my temper and started yelling (which I NEVER do to customer service representatives) and demanding to speak with a manager. She eventually refunded me for the first bottle too, but I have to take my time and spend my money returning these worthless bottles of cream.

Overall, I think this stuff is full of empty, untested promises made by a company looking to make a quick dime before they close their doors and move on to some other bogus product. Definitely avoid.

If I could give this a NO star I would!

    • Seattle, WA,
    • Jan 4, 2017

This product is completely ineffective. Read the ingredients, if you can. Sadly there are NO returns, once it hits your mailbox, it's all over folks, however, they will tell you they won't ship anymore to you (LOL).

    It's a scam. Beware!

    SkinTek is a scam

Having same problems with these people. Used "Premium Formula" for 14 days and it doesn't work. It does NOTHING.

Asked for refund (less than 30 days). They refused. Said product must be in a sealed container (unused). How would we know if it works without using it?

    Not For Me

    • Yucca Valley, CA,
    • Dec 22, 2016

I've used SkinTek for over 8 days now and nothing. I'm probably getting more effect from the friction of rubbing the cream on. The only instructions indicate that the cream should be rubbed into the area, left for 30 minutes, then cleaned off.

There is no indication about the frequency per day. The directions also state that stinging will be felt, nothing. Not even a mild tingling. When I searched the web for reviews, all I could find were positive reviews on the seller's website. That should've been my first clue. When I called the customer service number on my invoice, the call went to a different company. I was on hold for over 5 minutes.

When someone finally answered, I was given another number. The person I tried to reach said that it would take at least 3 weeks. I believe the longest time in the advertisement was 15 days. Then, finally after 3 weeks, I emailed and asked for a refund. Silly me. I didn't read the return policy, refunds given for "unopened" returns. Now who orders something you have to try in order to see if it works but doesn't open it in case they have to return the product? So, I will never trust these folks again.

    Don't Buy Into It

I wish I had seen some of the reviews before I bought this product. It absolutely has no effect on skin tags. None. Also I was charged more than I was told and they just sent me another one like a month after I ordered the first. I'm checking my credit card to see if I was charged again. Stay away, far away.

Jar says application will have a slight sting. It didn't. Have used it everyday for 8 days. No change. Complete and absolute waste of money. I had no idea there were other products available. Don't buy this. It's a huge scam.
