About SkinTek

Using a “revolutionary, all-natural formula,” SkinTek cream promises to help you quickly and easily get rid of unwanted moles, skin tags, and discoloration from the privacy of your home.

The manufacturer claims that SkinTek is so effective that it can deliver results in as little as eight hours.

We’re also told that SkinTek’s ingredients are safe to use anywhere on your body. And that their long-lasting cream doesn’t just work on moles and skin tags, but that it can also help keep your skin clean, luminous, and clear.

Bottom line: Is SkinTek worth the price? Are there other options that might deliver similar results? Let’s get you some answers by starting with the basics.

What Are Skin Tags & Moles? Are They Dangerous?

Skin tags (medically known as acrochorda) are skin growths that often appear in skin creases, making them common in areas like the neck, armpit, eyelids, and groin. They’re common enough that nearly 50% of the population will acquire a skin tag at some point.

While their raised appearance and fleshy stalk might be considered unsightly, the good news is that skin tags are generally benign (non-cancerous) and represent little cause for concern.

Moles, on the other hand, form when melanocyte cells, which give skin its pigment, clump together. While most of our moles are acquired long before adulthood, as we age and expose our skin to the sun, these moles can become darker.

It's important to keep an eye on your moles since changes in their color, shape, size, or height could represent an increased risk of melanoma, or skin cancer.

Whether you're worried about moles or skin tags, your physician can typically remove these quickly and with little-to-no pain in their office. However, if you're looking to save money and avoid a trip to the doctor, will the ingredients in SkinTek provide similar results?

Are SkinTek’s Ingredients Effective for Mole or Skin Tag Removal?

Although SkinTek’s manufacturer boasts their ingredients are “natural” and “amazing,” we’re only told about two: tea tree oil and aloe vera.

Derived from the leaves of the tea tree, tea tree oil is thought contain chemicals that kill bacteria and fungus while reducing allergic skin reactions.

As a result, WebMD lists the ingredient as “possibly effective” for addressing mild to moderate acne (sometimes as well as 5% benzoyl peroxide), addressing fungal nail infections, a relieving athlete’s foot.

However, it’s important to outline that they recommend the following concentrations:

  • 100% tea tree oil, applied twice daily for six months for nail fungus.
  • 10%-50% tea tree oil applied twice daily for one month to treat athlete’s foot.
  • 5% tea tree oil applied daily for acne

The point? There are two.

First, we’re not told what tea tree oil concentration you’ll find in SkinTek, so we can’t know if you can expect to experience any of the same.

Second, even if we could verify that SkinTek’s tea tree oil was available in the appropriate concentration, WebMD indicates that there’s insufficient clinical evidence indicating it can meaningfully address skin tags or moles.

What about SkinTek’s aloe vera? The gel (cells in the center of the leaf) and the latex (cells just underneath the leaf skin) of this cactus-like plant contain chemicals that can help improve blood circulation, reduce bacteria, and reduce irritation.

While you might think these benefits make aloe vera ideal in SkinTek’s formula, WebMD doesn’t indicate that it’s effective for addressing skin tags or moles.

What About SkinTek Side Effects?

Tea tree oil should be safe for most individuals, although WebMD indicates it can cause irritation and swelling in some instances. Also, if you suffer from acne, it can lead to drying, itching, and redness.

On the other hand, aloe vera might be able to address some of these side effects, since it can help hold moisture against the skin.

The company notes that you should “always have your moles checked by a licensed physician before taking any actions yourself.” Additionally, their disclaimer reads:

"Do not use SkinTek if you are prone to scarring or keloid scars. We do NOT guarantee that the product will NOT cause a scar or blemish. Whenever attempting to manipulate or change the dermis, one should expect that a blemish or scar may result. In most circumstances, the use of the product will result in a minor and temporary blemish that normally fades away within 90 days."

How Much Does SkinTek Cost? Are There Different Formulations?

While we’re not told about the differences in their ingredients, SkinTek apparently is available in Regular and Advanced formulas:

  • Regular – One bottle can be used on up to four moles or skin tags, with results in 7-10 days: $29.95
  • Advanced – A “stronger, faster” solution that can be used on up to 12 moles or skin tags, with results in as little as eight hours: $39.95, or two bottles for $79.95

Regardless of which formulation you choose, all SkinTek orders come with an unconditional 60-day money back guarantee, less S&H charges. In order to request one, customer service can be reached at 844-347-0748 or support@tryskintek.com.

Is This Arbitration Agreement Important?

Really quick: All SkinTek purchases are subject to an arbitration agreement. This means that, should you have a legal problem with the company, you agree to binding arbitration instead of going through the court system.

As a result, you’ll waive many of your inherent legal rights as soon as you place your order, including becoming part of a class action lawsuit.

How does this compare to the competition?

Are There Other Skin Tag & Mole Removal Creams Like SkinTek?

In four words? There are a lot. Which is something you can see for yourself by entering the phrase “skin tag remover” or “mole remover” into just about any search engine.

If you walk the aisles of your local pharmacy, you’ll almost certainly find at least a couple skin tag remover creams as well, which could help prevent an online order and paying the associated shipping.

We’ve even reviewed a couple of popular options here at HighYa, including Tag Away, Revitol, and Miracle Plus.

As mentioned above, many of these feature similar ingredients to SkinTek’s formulation and might, therefore, deliver similar results. But the biggest difference is price since much of the competition can be purchased for $10 to $20.

From a customer perspective, are they finding SkinTek’s higher price worthwhile?

Are SkinTek’s Customer Reviews Positive?

There weren’t any online customer reviews for SkinTek at the time of our research, which is no surprise since the company’s URL has only been registered since October 2016.

It appears that SkinTek is owned by Venom Advertising, LLC, based out of San Diego, CA, although almost no additional information was available about them on third-party websites.

What does this mean for you? Let’s go ahead and bring together everything we’ve discussed so far.

When It Comes to SkinTek, What Do We Really Know?

Look, it’s completely understandable if you’re self-conscious about the appearance of skin tags or moles, and that you want to avoid going to the doctor and save money at the same time.

But based on what we’ve learned here, SkinTek basically amounts to an unknown formulation of ingredients, in unknown dosages, and from a completely unknown manufacturer.

To boot, the product is too new to have garnered any customer feedback and most of the competition—using the same key ingredients—is meaningfully less expensive.

Need even more food for thought? One of the product’s websites addresses SkinTek as a cream, while another insinuates that it’s some kind of liquid drops.

Is SkinTek’s mole and skin tag removal formulation a cream or liquid drops? What ingredients does it contain? In both instances, we’re simply not told.

Should you purchase SkinTek? You earned your money, so you get to decide where to spend it. But if you gave the skin tag and mole removal cream a try, be sure to tell us about your experience in your review below!

    Thieves

    • Alexandria, VA,
    • Feb 20, 2017

This company is a "Den of Thieves."

When I first placed an order, it wouldn't accept my credit card, so I closed out the order. Then I went back to the website and placed the order with a different credit card. I also chose not to have the auto ship option on both attempts.

The second order went through. The next day, I wanted to be sure the order went through correctly, and that it was just one. It turns out that both credit cards were charged. I talked with someone to make sure the first card order was completely canceled and that the second card order was just one time. They got it partly correct. The second card order came just once. However, the first card order that they told me had been canceled, has been auto shipping this crap every month.

I disputed the charge, but that didn't help. I finally got someone who said they canceled the auto ship and will give me one order's money back. We'll see. I wanted to send back all the unopened orders that should not have been sent at all and get a refund. They said I could send them back, but the charges would not be removed.

These people are unethical thieves and should be prosecuted. If anyone wants to bring a class action suit against them, count me in!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • Absolute suckage!

    • Boston, MA,
    • Feb 19, 2017

I hope others see these reviews before they also get hosed.

I ordered one jar, it did nothing, but I figured eh, it is worth a try. Then another jar shows up. I emailed them twice, with no reply, and then life happened, and I forgot about them until ANOTHER one showed up the next month! What? So like a mole it was going to come back if I didn't keep using their crap?

I found a number and called, and was, of course, told that they could only refund the last one within 30 days, AND there would be shipping and 30% restocking fees! They refunded me ten bucks and ooh, I get to keep the product. Yay.

Forget you SkinTek. I hope your criminal company rots with the rest of the beasts that prey on people.

    Scam

    • Detroit, MI,
    • Feb 6, 2017

This product does not work, and it is a big scam. There is no way to contact the company, and they keep sending me more product.

Stop sending me products and refund my money!

    Rip off

The product does nothing. I ordered one, and then they continue to send another one every month charging my account. If it is so great then why do they keep sending more? It is definitely a scam.

    Scam

    • Nashville, TN,
    • Jan 31, 2017

This item doesn't work at all. My husband used it for two weeks, and it didn't do anything for him. It is supposed to remove the moles in eight hours. I can't get a hold of anybody, and their website its down. We paid $39.99 and want our money back.

    Totally worthless

    • Mount Carmel, PA,
    • Jan 30, 2017

I have had a mole on my face for most of my life, and I hated it. I saw this product and thought how wonderful to finally rid myself of this.

I did order the advanced, and it took forever to get it with many emails to the company and phone calls. I finally received a one-time order (which it said you can obtain but try and find it on the order form), but I had to call to get the one-time order. You need to read the terms and conditions, that's where all the automatic order information is. I was afraid to use it on my face so I tried it out on a smaller mole where it couldn't be seen, just in case it left a scar or disfigurement.

Well, after three weeks of putting this on the tiny mole more than two times a day, it didn't do a thing. It's still there, and to return it has to be an unopened product, so how could you know if it works if you don't try it? They don't tell you that either. After I had ordered, I wondered if it gets rid of moles and tags, so why send me more each month, what would you do with it?

It was too late for me but for all you people contemplating ordering this, forget it, go to the doctor and have it removed, they freeze it and in two minutes it's gone. I have had to apply Vaseline for a week or more, but at least that is the safest and least sorry product you'll use. I'm just happy that I called to make it a one-time order or I'd be dealing with more issues. I already had to have my whole bank account changed because of these scammers, and I think, lesson learned, stay away from things that seem too good to be true.

More than a scam, don't order

    • Philadelphia, PA,
    • Jan 27, 2017

Of course, I wish I have read these reviews prior to ordering the mole remover. It doesn't work at all. When I placed the order, I selected NO AUTO SHIP, yet I just received another shipment and was charged $39.99.

I called the company to cancel the auto-ship and return the product that I just received. Well, they will only refund me $9.00, but I get to keep the product. That does NOT work for me. I knew it was too good to be true.

    Waste of time and money

I tried this and found it to be useless for me. Even worse, they send me one jar per week, and their website says it is "under construction." Plus, another Skin Tek company says they don't make this product, and someone is using their Skin Tek name illegally.

    Doesn't do anything

    • Victoria, Australia,
    • Jan 25, 2017

I have had the same experience as everyone else pretty much. The order did arrive on time, but when used, has done nothing.

I noticed a second charge on my credit card, so I emailed them three days ago with no response. Yesterday another jar turned up, so obviously, I too have been signed up to autoship without knowing. I am about to email them again to try to stop autoship and charges. If no luck, I too will be changing my credit card I guess!

The product doesn't work and they keep sending it to you, even when asked to stop

This product did not work. Not even slightly, for me. And they kept sending it to me. I called and asked them to stop, but I got another shipment. When I asked them to stop and refund me, they only refunded half my money. The whole thing is a crock!

    Total and complete scam!

    • Wisconsin,
    • Jan 22, 2017

I went onto the website and placed the order, but when you go to check out, you are then subjected to an upgrade with no way to back out. So I exited out of the website only to receive two jars of cream plus an upgrade charge on one jar, and was automatically added to an auto shipment? So, more creams were arriving one week apart.

Due to the holidays, I didn't call right away, but when I did, I was subjected to the rudest woman I have ever met, who literally threatened me. She finally gave me 50% off two of the jars, and 100% refund on the jar they had billed me for but not yet shipped. I was stuck with the first two jars, and for the record, it DOESN'T work.

I see on the web that there is another company with the same name that must be getting a lot of bad publicity due to this scam.
