About Slimera Garcinia Cambogia

Slimera Garcinia Cambogia is a dietary supplement that claims to use 50% HCA to help you burn fat as energy, inhibit fat production, reduce your calorie intake, support a healthy metabolism, and improve your mood. In fact, Slimera Garcinia Cambogia is claimed to be a “miraculous” weight loss plant that can help you burn fat and strip away pounds fast, all while eating the foods you love, even if you hate dieting and exercise.

Admittedly, Slimera Garcinia Cambogia sounds like an amazing breakthrough in supplements, since the manufacturer makes it seem like you don’t have to do anything other than pop a couple of their pure Garcinia Cambogia extract capsules each day, and “get a smoking hot body, the easy way.”

You may have been scammed by a company in the past, so you’re wary of purchasing Slimera Garcinia Cambogia. Or, perhaps you don’t have time to exercise and eat like you should, so you want to know if Slimera really works as well as it claims. The short answer? Probably not. We’ll get to why this is likely the case in a moment, but let’s first take a look at how Slimera Garcinia Cambogia is claimed to work.

How Does Slimera Garcinia Cambogia Claim to Work?

Garcinia cambogia is a tropical tree that grows over parts of Asia and Africa, whose fruit rind contains high levels of hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which is claimed to help your body:

  • Burn fat as energy instead of accumulating it.
  • Secrete more serotonin, thereby improving your mood and reducing emotional eating.
  • Decrease belly fat and prevent new belly fat from forming.
  • Reduce cortisol levels (a stress hormone), which can also improve your mood.

According to the Slimera Garcinia Cambogia website, their supplement uses 50% HCA to burn fat around the clock without diet and exercise, and to transform your body quickly and easily.

In order to achieve these benefits, the manufacturer recommends taking 1 capsule of Slimera Garcinia Cambogia 2-3 times per day, which is manufactured in the U.S. without binders or fillers, and causes no known side effects.

What Kind of Clinical Evidence Does Slimera Garcinia Cambogia Have?

Regardless of how Slimera Garcinia Cambogia claims to work, we’ll get right to the point: As we outlined in our article titled The Updated Truth About Garcinia Cambogia, garcinia cambogia (or more appropriately, HCA) has no universally agreed upon clinical evidence showing that it can help humans lose weight, inhibit fat production, improve metabolism, or boost mood. It really is as simple as that.

However, the Slimera Garcinia Cambogia website references 3 different clinical studies in order to back up their hefty claims. These include:

  • A 2002 article that outlines some of HCA’s proposed benefits as studied in animals, although it doesn’t present any new findings showing that it’s equally as effective on humans.
  • A study completed by InterHealth Research Center in 2005 that only references how to improve the bioavailability of HCA. Interestingly, InterHealth is a nutraceutical company that manufactures a variety of natural supplements, including many that contain garcinia cambogia, which might reflect a possible conflict of interest.
  • A third study from 2003 that showed HCA affected glucose metabolism, although “treatment was found to have no effect on body weight, fat pad weight or serum glucose level.”

On top of these, some text located at the bottom of the Slimera Garcinia Cambogia website claims, “Two human clinical trials suggest that ingestion of Garcinia Cambogia can lead to a reduction in weight or body fat.” However, there are no links available.

With all of this said, Slimera Garcinia Cambogia’s manufacturer may not be terribly interested in clinical evidence supporting their claims. This is because, according to their Privacy Policy, “this information is based solely on the traditional and historic use of a given herb, or on clinical trials that are generally not recognized by any US government agency or medical organization.”

Slimera Garcinia Cambogia Ingredients & Dosage

Lack of clinical evidence notwithstanding, it’s important to note that the Slimera Garcinia Cambogia website doesn’t provide an ingredients list or product label, so you have no way of knowing all (and how much) of the ingredients it contains, or if it contains enough to be effective. This is important, because this is something you’ll be putting in your body, and you deserve to know exactly what it contains.

However, when garcinia cambogia supplements first appeared on the scene after being featured on the Dr. Oz in 2012, he recommended taking doses containing 60% HCA, although Slimera Garcinia Cambogia only contains 50%.

Slimera Garcinia Cambogia’s Advertising Tactics

Because of the lack of clinical evidence supporting the assertion that garcinia cambogia can help you lose weight, companies often resort to “emotional selling.” In other words, they’re looking to convince you to buy based on emotional reasons, instead of logical ones. This is something we covered in-depth in our How Weight Loss Ads Convince You to Buy article, including the use of pretty pictures, a sense of urgency, and a way to relieve that urgency, all formatted in a way that’s attractive to your eye and draws you in.

In the case of Slimera Garcinia Cambogia, your eye is immediately drawn to the fit, pretty model in the upper left hand corner, making you think, “I want to look like that!” (Important note: Interestingly, the picture used on the Slimera website is identical to the one used on GC180 XT’s website). Then, you immediately want to know more after reading that the supplement can “Burn fat and strip away pounds fast, even if you hate dieting and exercise!” Finally, you can move toward finding out more by filling in your contact information to sign up for their trial.

In addition, the Slimera Garcinia Cambogia website indicates that the supplement was seen on USA Today, FOX News, and CNBC, although we were unable to find any third-party websites that confirmed this. Ultimately, this leads us to believe that these claims may not be legitimate.

Are Consumers Happy with Their Slimera Garcinia Cambogia Purchases?

Slimera Garcinia Cambogia appears to be a new supplement, and didn’t have any online customer reviews available at the time of our research. However, we did find multiple sites posing as legitimate customer reviews for the supplement, although they give every indication of being fake.

With this said, HighYa readers tend to rate their experiences with other garcinia cambogia supplements very low, with the most common complaints citing failure to work as advertised, high prices, and difficulty cancelling trials/processing refunds. As such, this might be what you can reasonably expect from Slimera Garcinia Cambogia.

Think Locally

Finally, garcinia cambogia supplements are pervasive, and are sold at almost every retailer imaginable (we’ve even found them at Costco and Kohl’s), generally for much less than Slimera Garcinia Cambogia.

As such, we’d strongly recommend looking around at local retailers before placing your order, which can help you save money and a potentially frustrating return process in the high likelihood that you’re not satisfied.

Slimera Garcinia Cambogia Pricing & Refund Policy

Slimera Garcinia Cambogia is only available via a 14-day trial, for which you’ll pay $4.97 and will receive a full 30-day supply. According to the company, the trial begins on the date your order is placed, and will take 2-5 business days for arrival. This means you may be left with a week or less to decide whether or not the supplement’s right for you and to cancel your trial.

Important note: When checking out, you’ll see a check box located just below your order total that asks you to decline Guarantee Ship. If you keep this unchecked, you’ll be charged an additional $1.97 for shipping insurance.

After your 14-day trial expires, you’ll be billed $84.97 for the full price of the product, and will be enrolled in Slimera Garcinia Cambogia’s autoship program. This means you’ll continue receiving a fresh supply of the supplement once every 30 days, and your credit card will be charged $84.97 each time until you call to cancel.

In general, as we noted in our Nutritional Supplements Buyer’s Guide, it’s our opinion that “free” trials and autoship programs are more about taking as much as your hard-earned money as possible, than they are about providing any kind of convenience. As such, we’d recommend staying away from them altogether.

Slimera Garcinia Cambogia is claimed to come with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges and a $12.95 per-bottle processing fee. Also, keep in mind that bottles much be unopened and unused in order to qualify for a refund.

In order to cancel your autoship enrollment or to request a refund, you’ll need to contact customer service at (866) 786-8241 to obtain an RMA.

Can Slimera Garcinia Cambogia Help You Lose Weight Without Effort?

Chopping to the Point: Considering the lack of clinical evidence showing that HCA can promote any kind of weight loss, whether from Slimera Garcinia Cambogia or another manufacturer, we’d recommend saving your money and speaking with your physician about more effective methods of losing weight and keeping it off.

But if you do decide to give garcinia cambogia a try, you’ll likely want to purchase it from a local retailer to save you a lot of money, as well as frustration if you decide to return it.

    Scam

    • London, KY,
    • Jul 25, 2016

Do not fall for this scam. It is supposed to be a 30 day trial. After 14 days they took money out of my bank account and fed me bull saying it was just a 14 day free trial and now I am negative in the bank. I sent back what was left and have not received my money back yet. I am just trying to warn people not to waste your time with this scam.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Scammy tactics. Illegal?

    • Lexington, SC,
    • Feb 16, 2016

So I'm on Facebook today and theres this ad thing that is sitting there and it says "Blake Shelton Fired from the Voice!" I am interested and click it and all that happens is it goes to an ad for tropical garcinia weight loss. I am so pissed. The block thing said Blake was fired and then had these fake quotes. That's where it makes you have to click "more info" and then the ad for that weight loss crap pops up. Theres NO info about anybody getting fired form anywhere. It's just a weight loss ad. Very clever.

And I take pride in not going to the stupid scams and schemes, but this one on Facebook got me. I immediately got out of there but it made me want to cancel my Facebook account. I literally went to cancel my Facebook account and then stopped. I am still probably going to cancel it because of this scam that wormed its way onto my page with an outright LIE to get me to click it. I hate this weight loss company now. And I don't usually hate. I get angry, mad, upset but I usually never "hate". I hate this fake garcinia crap. I hope NOBODY buys it and stops falling for it.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Scam

    • West Chester, PA,
    • Jan 22, 2016

If I had read this, it probably would have saved me a lot of time. I got them to return my money for this month, but I'm going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. They have no return policy as quoted by them on the phone, the charges are not detailed on the credit card so I have no idea what it was. When I called to get my money refunded, he said he couldn't do it. Hopefully my bank will dispute the charge for me so I can get my money returned. This is a scam.

    Scam.

    • California,
    • Dec 24, 2015

These guys are criminals. Both of their products are rip-off waiting to happen (Slimera Garcinia Cambogia and Vita Ultra). First, they bate you with the so called "free trial offer", just pay for shipping. When you ask to return these products and get your refund, they do not refund your money. I am in dispute for my money as we speak.

This is a total scam. Do not throw your hard earned money away.

    Misleading Trial Offer

    • Fort Myers,
    • Dec 1, 2015

The free trial offer is very misleading. They charge you for the free trial offer then hit you with a $80+ charge without explaining that you will be charged this after 14 days. Therefore I consider this to be a scam.

    What a SCAM

    • Indiana,
    • Nov 20, 2015

I signed up for the "30 day trial" which was for Slimera and Vita Ultra, all I had to pay was the shipping on both bottles. I did not approve any more than that. Within a matter of 2 weeks after receipt they charged me $74.95, which unfortunately I didn't realize until my fraud protection agency for my credit card called to question another charge from them two weeks later for $84.97. The product doesn't even work. I contacted the company to tell them I wanted a refund and question why I was being charged. As well as to tell the product did not work for me. The only thing they would do, after much dispute, is reimburse the $84.97. Yes, I am mad at myself for being dubbed by another scam that is promoted by Dr Oz. Don't do it.

Do not order this free trial!

    • Pittsburgh, PA,
    • Nov 19, 2015

This is a total scam! I ended up paying $85 for a "free" trial. I was told how to get my money back but they told me incorrect information on purpose and then kept my money.

And you can't understand a word they are saying!

Please, please, please do not but this product -- scam. Better for you to throw a $100 bill out of your moving car window and then poke yourself in the eye for even considering this scam. If you do what I suggest you will save yourself $70 dollars. A total shell game.

    Big time scam

    • Tampa, Florida,
    • Nov 2, 2015

Please stay away from this company. I just got scammed big time. I never received the product and I called them when I realized this. My account was charged $84.97. They said they don't refund any money back, but if I send them the product they'll look into it. So I told him, how can I send something that I don't have, which I never received. So the supervisor said, "well I'm sorry I cannot help you because you signed an agreement on the website." There was no agreement that I signed nor did I check any box. They would be charging me $84.97 after 14 days, but I never received any of their product. So please, please, please do not put in your card information, it will be billed and then you won't get a refund back. I am so stressed out after speaking with the supervisor. I wish they arrest all of them.

    Unsatisfied customer

    • Orange County, CA,
    • Oct 26, 2015

So I decided to try it and I paid for the shipping and the products were sent to me. After not even a week of having the product, I saw that they had charged me 84 dollars for the Slimera. I called and they said that if I didn't want it I could send it back and they would refund me my money and so I did. Also, at the same, I decided to cancel the Vita Ultra. I didn't want the same thing to happen again!

Well I just viewed my account again and sure enough they charged me the 74 dollars for the Vita Ultra (Which I don't even have anymore) and so I called and of course they say they can't do anything about it because they have no proof that I sent it back. I am beyond annoyed with these people. I do NOT recommend this product to anyone. Now, I'm down 74 dollars out for a product that I don't even have. Do not let this happen to you. All these people want is your money.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
