About Smile Vitalize

Smile Vitalize claims to be a comprehensive, professional-quality teeth whitening system featuring powerful and effective ingredients that can be used in the comfort of your own home. All you have to do is follow an easy 3-step whitening process:

  1. Brush your teeth and rinse with water.
  2. Squeeze a small amount of the high viscosity, water-based whitening gel along the front portion of each Sure-Fit mouth tray.
  3. Place the mouth trays over your upper and lower teeth and keep in place for 30-60 minutes. Remove trays and rinse away any remaining gel.

When used as directed, the company claims Smile Vitalize can provide “dramatic” whitening results in less than five days, while costing less than a professional whitening treatment from your dentist. And you’ll be able to accomplish all of this without any tooth sensitivity!

There no doubt that if you’re in the market for an at-home teeth whitening system, you know you have dozens of options to choose from. But is there anything about Smile Vitalize that makes it unique, more effective, or worth the high price? We’ll help you learn all the answers to these questions in this review.

Let’s dive right in and start with the basics.

What Causes Teeth Stains?

We won’t go into an excessive amount of detail here, as you can read all about different kinds of stains (and their causes) in our At-Home Teeth Whitener Buyer’s Guide.

In a nutshell, although your teeth might appear smooth, they’re actually full of microscopic pits and ridges than can retain stains—especially strong ones from repeated exposure to certain foods and drinks, tobacco, along with some diseases and medications. On top of this, your age and genetics can play a role in both the color of your teeth and their propensity for staining, as can poor or improper hygiene.

Is Smile Vitalize Effective For Teeth Whitening?

Among teeth stains, there are basically two kinds: extrinsic (those that occur on the surface of the enamel, the outermost portion of your teeth) and intrinsic, or those that have made their way past enamel and into the deeper layers of teeth, such as the dentin or pulp.

This is important, because Smile Vitalize contains two different ingredients: 22% carbamide peroxide, which only interacts with the teeth to remove surface stains (i.e. those located on the enamel), along with Xylitol, a sweetener that adds flavor.

Basically, once exposed to air, carbamide peroxide breaks down into hydrogen peroxide, which then oxidizes stains on the surface of teeth and lifts them away. Carbamide and hydrogen peroxide are by far the most common ingredients found in at-home teeth whitening systems, primarily because they tend to provide results. What kinds of results?

Whether from online-only systems like Smile Vitalize or ones from national manufacturers, most at-home kits can whiten about 1-3 shades with regular use. While much of this whitening can occur within the first five days or so, as claimed by Smile Vitalize’s manufacturer, although they probably won’t be quite as “dramatic” as they claim.

Given its formulation, it’s difficult to imagine that Smile Vitalize will provide any better results than much of the competition, which is what we’ll discuss next.

Are There Other Whitening Systems Like Smile Vitalize?

As we alluded to above, if you glance at the teeth care section at your local pharmacy or big box retailer, you’re almost certain to find at least a few different at-home whitening options. This includes not just tray-based systems like Smile Vitalize, but also pastes, strips, toothpastes, and more—some of which might work better than others based on your needs and personal preferences.

If you want even more options without leaving your house, you can search for at-home whitening systems online, where you’ll literally encounter thousands of different products. In fact, based on their pricing (more next), website designs, and headquarter locations, it seems like the same company is behind several other nearly identical whitening products like Whitening Coach, Spark Whitening, Action Pro White, and many more.

What are customers saying about these online-only whitening products? We’ll get to that in a second, but first, let’s take a look a Smile Vitalize’s pricing.

Is Smile Vitalize Available Through a Free Trial?

Smile Vitalize products are priced as follows:

  • 1-Month Supply: $129.99 plus free S&H
  • Whitening Pen On the Go: $39.41 plus $3.87 S&H
  • VIP Club: Receive regular shipments of the Smile Vitalize system once per month, and save: $94.31 per month (shipping is free the first month, and then $10.91 thereafter)

The good news is that unlike some of these other online-only whitening systems, Smile Vitalize isn’t available through a free trial (we’ll talk about why soon), which is something we almost always recommend avoiding.

Comparatively, you’ll be able to pick up other gel-based whitening systems for as little as $10—some of which should be available locally, saving you even more money in S&H charges.

All Smile Vitalize teeth whitening systems come with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges and a $19.60 destruction/repackaging fee. In order to request one, you’ll need to call customer service at 877-808-6170.

Customer Reviews For Products Like Smile Vitalize

We already mentioned that Smile Vitalize seems very similar to many of the other online-only at-home whitening systems we’ve reviewed, but what are customers saying?

In general, these products almost always come with 1-star average ratings here on HighYa, where nearly all customers complained that cancelling trials or processing refunds was next to impossible due to ultra-poor customer service. Granted, this doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll experience the same with Smile Vitalize, but given all its similarities, we certainly think it’s something you should keep in mind.

Is Smile Vitalize the “Smile Solution You've Been Looking For”?

Given all of this, what do you think about Smile Vitalize? Ultimately, it’s your decision whether you think it’s worth rolling the dice. If you were to ask our opinion—between the ultra-high prices and almost identical business model as other poorly-reviewed at-home whitening systems—we think there are a lot of red flags that might make us explore all our options before placing an order.

What did you think about Smile Vitalize? Did it live up to your expectations, or was it a total letdown? Whatever happened, be sure to tell us about it by writing a review below!

    Smile Vitalize

They used a fake email from Amazon survey to try to scam me. After filling out the quick survey, I then had a choice of gifts to choice from.

I chose Smile Vitalize also known as (Genuine white) free trial kit. I only had to pay shipping and handling costs of about $3.94. Then it redirected me to another company in Las Vegas.

I even read reviews from people about the product. After I finished the payment transaction, I received a phone call from my bank about the possibility of fraud activity in the United Kingdom and wanted to know do I authorize for it to go through. I asked them how it came to be.

To make a long story short: they didn't get any money out of my debit account because I closed it. This is a scam, warming!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Rip-off

    • Sydney,

Ordered sample pack and on the day of the delivery they debited my credit card for first months payment. Despite many emails and a promise of a call from customer service, I am still waiting. I never received the month's supply they charged me for. It's a scam. Avoid at all costs.

    Scam

This company is absolutely horrible. I ordered a sample and read through the email I got. It said I needed to cancel my account or else I would be charged $94 for recurring shipments. I immediately canceled, but I still got charged. When I called the company to get a refund, they told me there are two separate accounts, which the email never mentioned, and you have to close both of them to not be charged. I argued with this woman for 20 minutes, and still never got a refund. I asked to talk to someone higher up, and she told me they were all busy and refused to get someone else. I am expecting a call back from a supervisor. I am beyond upset with them.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Beware!

I ordered a sample from them, then decided the same night I didn't want it, and emailed them on their site, and also told them to not send anymore product. To which they told me I'd get it anyway, because it goes out immediately after ordering. Not only did I not get the sample, I never got the next shipment they sent me, although I said I did not want it. Then they cancelled my account and billed me $94.31. I told them that I never received any of their product, but they insist on billing me anyway. Believe me, I WOULD return it, if I'd gotten it. BEWARE they don't care about customer service and ONLY are out to get the money! I'm not even sure I believe they really sent either of the product they say they sent.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
