About Spray Perfect

Available in six stylish colors, Spray Perfect is a spray-on nail polish that provides smooth, easy, complete coverage in seconds. And with their chip- and- crack-resistant “smart polish formula,” Spray Perfect always sticks to your nails, while any overspray easily washes off your skin with just water and gentle rubbing.

Regardless if you’re applying it to your fingernails or toenails, Spray Perfect works whether you’re right or left-handed, is safe to use on acrylic nails, won’t smudge or drip, lasts up to 5 days, and comes off with regular nail polish remover. To use, the process works over a few simple steps:

  1. Apply base coat.
  2. Spray polish onto your fingernails or toenails.
  3. Apply the top coat (keep this in mind, because we’ll come back to it soon).
  4. Rinse excess polish off your skin.

There’s definitely a “cool factor” about Spray Perfect, as it’s probably something most of us have thought about at one point or another. Is it really the “world’s fastest manicure” though? Will it work as fast as the company claims? Will you really be able to save money over visiting the salon?

We know you’re itching to find out if Spray Perfect is something you should add to your beauty regimen, so let’s answer your important questions by first addressing the elephant in the room.

Spray Perfect: The Case Of the Missing Step

Watching the Spray Perfect commercial, it’s easy to believe that applying the nail polish will only take a few seconds, since it’s basically like using a can of spray paint. However, what the commercial doesn’t address—and the website doesn’t mention until the bottom—is that you’ll need to apply a base coat to your nails before you spray and then a top coat afterward, much like regular polish.

Unfortunately, no further details are provided. But assuming these coat act as a shield, it’s reasonable to believe that without it, the polish will just wash off your nails like it’ll wash off your skin. In other words, any uncovered areas won’t be left with any nail polish, which means you’ll need to be very accurate with where each coat goes—just like traditional nail polish!

Even though this fact seems to have been glossed over, we think it makes all the difference. Why? Not only does it seem like Spray Perfect could reasonably take just as long as regular nail polish, by adding a couple extra steps (spraying the nail polish and apply a top coat), it seems like it could actually take longer.

Is this what customers have experienced with Spray Perfect? Let’s find out.

What’s Everyone Saying About Spray Perfect?

The HighYa team specializes in reviewing many products soon after they’re released, so there weren’t any online customer reviews for Spray Perfect at the time of our research. The good news is that after reviewing 600+ ASOTV products, we’ve learned that they’re often just slightly redesigned versions of existing products, and Spray Perfect seems to be no different.

For example, a product named Paint Can from Nails Inc. was recently released in November 2015, which was met with a great deal of fanfare and reviewed by popular outlets like Allure, TODAY, Good Housekeeping, and others. In general, most seemed relatively pleased with the experience, claiming that it worked well. Of the few complaints we came across, it was noted that applying the different coats might require some practice, you should wash it off as soon as possible, and that it should be used in a well-ventilated area (strong paint-like smell).

Obviously, Paint Can comes from a completely different manufacturer, so we’re definitely not saying you’re sure to experience the same thing with Spray Perfect. Speaking of which, who makes this spray-on nail polish?

More About Spray Perfect’s Manufacturer

Spray Perfect is manufactured by Plymouth Direct, a pretty popular company within the ASOTV industry who also makes Mighty Putty Purple, BeActive, Tag Away, and more. Here on HighYa, most of Plymouth Direct’s products seem to come with a rating of 2 stars or lower, often based on complaints of failure to work, poor quality, and problems processing refunds.

Pro tip: This is the case with most As Seen On TV products, and isn’t necessarily unique to Plymouth Direct.

Let’s quickly talk about Spray Perfect’s price before wrapping things up.

What’ll You Pay For Spray Perfect?

Two bottles of Spray Perfect, available in Racy Red, Sexy Silver, Naked Nude, Party Pink, Passion Purple, or Whimsical White colors, are priced at $19.99 plus free shipping. According to the company, each bottle contains enough nail polish for up to 10 full manicures or pedicures.

Spray Perfect comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges. In order to request one, you’ll need to call customer service at 800-340-3418.

A Quick Note About Arbitration

All Plymouth Direct purchases—including Spray Perfect—are automatically bound to an arbitration agreement. Basically, instead of a trial by jury or joining a class action lawsuit, any grievances you have against the company will be settled through binding arbitration. And while this might seem harmless, in general, arbitration proceedings tend to favor the company over the consumer.

Is Spray Perfect … Perfect?

Because Spray Perfect was so new at the time of our research, there’s no way to know if it’ll work as well as the original Paint Can. But even if it does, we think the company’s marketing emphasis—that it’ll work in less than a minute and save you time—isn’t exactly providing consumers with a complete picture of what to expect.

Instead, we think the application process might actually take longer than traditional nail polish, although you’ll probably get better coverage and more uniform results. So, if you’re looking for perfect nail polish application, Spray Perfect might work well. But, if you’re expecting to save time, you might end up disappointed.

    Not happy!

Nail spray – A time-consuming process to apply product, but looked fabulous. CHIPPED within hours (after 2 coats of top coat)!

Then when I used nail polish remover, it wouldn't remove it. I had to peel it off bit by bit! Ugh

There's a Lip Stain which is yucky sticky feel. You have to not move your open lips for 10 minutes. Color didn't last an hour!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Save your money.

I really did not want to give them 1 star. There is a lot of drying time that makes the whole process about 10-15 minutes. When getting ready the next day, my nails started chipping and I had 3 nails partial or come off all the way. I tried 3 times to apply Spray Perfect and chipping and coming off nails still happen. Do not waste your money on this product. I wish I would of seen these reviews first.

    Awful

Ridiculous claims, ridiculous product. Do not waste your money. Maybe if you have perfect nails this will work. But a complete failure to deliver what it says.

    Too good to be true

    • Berwick, ME,
    • Jun 21, 2016

Well, here is my 3rd and final review on Spray Perfect. My first expressed dissatisfaction with the length of time it took for me to receive the product - 7 weeks. The second review was very positive as I was happy with the entire application process. My third is not so positive. I applied the Ruby Red at noon today and here it is 5:00 pm and the tips of 3 of my non-dominant hand are chipping at the tips. Too good to be true? YES. I will not recommend this to anyone considering purchasing this product. Now I have to try to get rid of 4 canisters. Anyone interested? I will sell you one canister and one base/top coat for $5. Let me know.

    Don't waste your money

    • Trenton, New Jersey,

Took way longer than expected to come, and when I used it, the smell of the spray paint gave me a headache. It actually took longer to use this product than actually painting your nails. I thought the color looked nice after I washed the remaining color off my fingers, but it was still a really messy process and the color completely came off the next day.

Bottom line: you're better off going to the nail salon or painting your nails yourself.

    Do not order this product.

I ordered this product on March 8th and still have not received my order. I have emailed them several times and I keep being told it is out of stock and will be in two weeks but 3 months later I'm still waiting for my order. Very disappointed, especially since I have already paid for the order. I would not recommend ordering from this company based o my experience.

    Don't waste your money.

It took forever to get my order in, but I was willing to wait. The product is horrible. I followed directions to a T. The excess polish does come off with soap and water BUT the product had a rough finish and started peeling off the next day. I should have known it was too good to be true.

    Spray Perfect Nail Polish

I was very disappointed to realize I have to apply a base coat and a top coat and the look of the racy red was not very appealing. It doesn't go on even either. Just did not like it, would rather do 2 coats of regular polish. Too expensive for what it is.

    Spray Perfect

    • Amherst, MA,
    • Jun 1, 2016

Disappointed. It took over 3 months for me to get the product. One has to be very careful how to put the top coat or else it will wash off. And it has a grainy appearance - not smooth. So I definitely don't recommend.

    Do not order this product

    • Miami, FL,

Placed an order in early March as a birthday gift for my teenager. It has been almost 3 months and still haven't received it. When I contact customer service, I'm continually told that I should receive it in 2-3 weeks.
