About V Broom
By using v-shaped rubber bristles that form an “impenetrable wall” and trap dust, dirt, or debris, the V Broom is claimed to help you effectively clean all the hard flooring surfaces in your home, including wood and tile, without a scratch.
Using short, backward strokes, the V Broom’s unique bristle design is also claimed to remove pet hair from carpeting, and can even be used in wet and dry conditions, indoors and out. And once you’re finished scrubbing, the manufacturer claims you can just flip the V Broom over and squeegee dry. In fact, the V Broom is claimed to be so versatile that you can even use it to remove snow from your car, without having to worry about scratching your paint.
Sure, you want a clean home for your family, but considering your busy schedule, it can be difficult finding the time to properly clean. So can the V Broom really help you clean better than a traditional broom, so that you can spend more time with your loved ones? Consider the following:
Will V Broom Really Work Better Than a Traditional Broom?
Although it might be intuitive that V Broom’s v-shaped bristles will provide more of a “wall” to trap dirt and debris, we can’t help but think that most of its benefits lie in the fact that you pull in short motions, instead of pushing it like a traditional broom, and that its bristles are rubber, which might tend to pick up debris better.
Keep Your Options Open
With this said, there are a variety of short, rubber-bristled brooms available online (and very likely through a local retailer as well), many of which even feature a squeegee on top. This also means these brooms would likely work just as well on carpeting as the V Broom claims to.
Is V Broom’s Squeegee All It’s Cracked Up to Be?
Speaking of squeegees, consider this: Squeegee-ing traditional surfaces like shower doors and windows automatically removes the water, since these surfaces are vertical and gravity does most of the work. However, on horizontal surfaces such as floors, squeegee-ing them would essentially just move the soap and water from one spot to another. In other words, unlike vertical surfaces, you’ll still need to soak up the excess liquid on your floors using a towel or mop.
Is V Broom Popular with Consumers?
V Broom is a very new product, and as such didn’t have any online customer reviews available at the time of our research.
With this said, V Broom is manufactured by the “As Seen on TV” powerhouse TeleBrands, who is based out of Fairfield, NJ and manufactures other popular ASOTV products such as Pocket Hose Ultra, Copper Hands, Ankle Genie, and many more. Based on more than 150 HighYa reader reviews for these products, they have an average rating of 1.5 stars, with common complaints citing failure to work as advertised and poor product quality. Admittedly, this may not necessarily be your experience with V Broom, but it’s an important factor to keep in mind nonetheless.
V Broom Pricing & Refund Policy
One V Broom is priced at $19.99 plus $7.95 S&H, and the product’s website claims that you can receive a second V Broom for an additional $9.99 S&H, although we weren’t presented with this option when attempting to check out.
V Broom comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges. This means that you might spend as much in S&H charges as you’ll receive as a refund by the time you factor in shipping costs back to the manufacturer.
In order to initiate the refund process, you’ll need to contact customer service at 855-668-1655.
Can the V Broom Help You Clean Better, More Easily?
Chopping to the Point: Considering the fact that there’s nothing online indicating that v-shaped bristles can remove dirt better than traditional bristles; that you’ll likely be able to find similar options elsewhere; and that you’ll lose a good chunk of change if you decide to return your V Broom, we might recommend browsing at a local retailer before committing to your V Broom purchase.
