About VChic

With David Arquette as their spokesperson and based out of Milwaukee, WI, VChic is an “As Seen on TV” electronic cigarette that claims to allow you to smoke anywhere, while saving you money. When in use, the VChic e-cigarette produces only an odorless vapor, and each flavor cartridge contains the same amount of nicotine as two packs of regular cigarettes.

VChic gives the appearance of being a very new company with a very new product, as they are not listed with the Better Business Bureau, and online reviews and social media presence are non-existent. However, regarding e-cigarettes as a whole, the most common complaints seem to be long recharging times and faulty construction.

How the VChic Electronic Cigarette Work

The VChic claims to be a hassle-free, affordable, and chic electronic cigarette that allows you to smoke almost anywhere. This is because, instead of emitting foul-smelling smoke and messy ash, the VChic produces only an odorless vapor during the smoking process. However, if you’re interested in purchasing a VChic, keep in mind that this is a tobacco-related product, so you’ll need to be at least 18 years of age.

According to the diagram on the company’s website, the VChic e-cigarette comes in two sections:

  1. The nicotine cartridge, which connects to the atomizer. This heats the vegetable or propylene glycol-based nicotine into an odorless vapor.
  2. The top portion, which contains the solid-state battery, and a microprocessor that controls the heater.

The VChic Starter kit—which is the only kit available as of this writing—includes:

  • Battery – Solid state, and will generally last 9-10 hours between charges.
  • 2 Cartridges – Each VChic cartridge amounts to about two packs of cigarettes.
  • USB Charger – Allows you to recharge your VChic almost anywhere.

When placing your VChic order, you’ll also need to choose:

  • The size (Regular or Ultra Slim),
  • The flavor (menthol or standard tobacco), and
  • The color (white, Tiffany blue, regular blue, black, or chrome).

VChic Pricing & Refund Policy

The VChic Starter kit is currently priced at $9.95, plus $6.95 shipping and handling. However, as with most “As Seen on TV” products, you can get a “free” gift—a 5-pack of flavor cartridges—as long as you pay an additional $6.95 processing fee. Between the two offers you’ll pay a total of $23.85, although VChic claims this is like receiving 14 packs of cigarettes.

VChic comes with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, less shipping and handling charges, while the battery comes with a lifetime warranty. However, no additional details are provided on the company’s website, so we would recommend calling customer service at (800) 837-6039 to inquire about the specifics.

Bottom Line: Is VChic a Scam?

With e-cigarettes becoming an increasingly popular alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes, you may be wondering, “Is VChic a scam?”

The answer is: Based on our research, there currently isn’t enough information at this time to draw a conclusion. This is because VChic is a new company with a new product, and no online reviews, feedback, or social media are currently available. However, regarding e-cigarettes in general, there is some concern about the lack of oversight regarding the ingredients included in the “flavor packs,” and a number of consumers have complained about long charging times and faulty construction. It’s also important to consider that a wide variety of “As Seen on TV” products may not always perform as advertised.

On the 19th of January I placed an order for a free starter kit which I was suppose to pay shipping. After I submitted my MasterCard information and hit continue, i was charged $30.90 for a double starter kit. So I called right away and was told that the order had not went through and they would cancel it with no problems. On the fourth of February I received a statement from MasterCard showing I had been charged on the third of February in the amount of $30.90. So I called again only to be told that they would refund $20.00 and i would have to pay for return shipping which would cost me another eight dollars. So in total I would have paid $38.90 and received only $20.00 back. I called BBB and have a claim against them still pending. If you want an eCigarette company, you can trust Mt. Baker Vapors.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • I love Vchic

I really like Vchic. I went on their site and I get a thing saying I need to use a domain. I don't think so. I called their 800 number and they said they are working on the web site. I wish they would get it together. I have orders come every month. I sure hope I keep getting them. My batteries and tips last a long time. I get 3 packages of tips and they last me the whole month. If they go out of business I guess I will have to go back to Blu. Don't want to, but won't have any other choice. Will let you know if I get my automatic refills.

I ordered a year ago and it took quite awhile to receive my order. I ordered 2 kits because I have had experience with e-cigs and wanted a backup when the first unit ran out of battery power. I thought the battery lasted considerably longer than previous versions of different brands, it was the refills I needed more of and I could not contact anyone to order more. I would get 5 refills a month, enough for a week of smoking and after about 3 months they just stopped shipping refills altogether.

    Battery could be better

    • by Stan,
    • Maryland,

Shipping was pretty quick. Works as advertised, but battery runs down too quick. I seriously doubt that each cartridge is approximately 1 1/2 packs ; but I am smoking less real cigs. Would have preferred more color choices for the regular strength. I do find it weird that there isn't an e mail link on their website (even though there is a location for it).

    250 - 400 PUFFS NOT RIGHT

    • by Robert,

I don't think the cartridge lasts for that long and if you want to smoke once a day. I just got my chic in the mail and I'm already on the 2nd cartridge. I think it should last for a couple hours. Not that much value because if you are a smoker you can go through the cartridge like nothing. I'm not going to buy any more cartridges this will go in the trash and it's not perfected yet.

    VChic is a huge scam

    • by M Brunette,
    • WA,
    • Feb 27, 2014

Do not order anything from Vchic. their phone is disconnected, they don't reply to sent messages, their website is garbage. I cancelled 2 minutes after I ordered and didn't even click the "place my order" button and it went thru.

No email, status is not "cancelled", it says CC problems. In otherwords. They tried to charge my card and it didn't go thru. I put a hold on my card until I know they have cancelled my order. I have been trying to resolve this for 7 days. Don't make the mistake I made.

Good product, but too new of a company

    • by Felicia,
    • New York,
    • Feb 23, 2014

Ordered the product and it took 2 weeks to arrive. I love the product as I've tried many e-cigs in the past and hated them. This one works and tastes much better. But, the website they give to reorder cartridges is not valid. I assume it's just not set up yet as the domain name is owned by someone??

I would recommend this product, but would advise to wait and see if this company becomes more established.

I bought the starter kit. Took almost 8 weeks to get it. Tried it and liked it very much, but not able to reorder. The website they give you to reorder is invalid. I would not recommend this product.
