About Accelerin

By HighYa Staff

It’s tough out there. And you’re looking for any edge you can get over the competition. Can Accelerin help you get there?

Sure, Accelerin claims their brain supplement may help improve your memory, increase your focus, and boost your energy levels, and that they only use all-natural ingredients to accomplish this.

But will Accelerin really “unlock your brain’s true powers and potential,” or is it just chock full of marketing hype and empty promises?

To answer all your important questions about Accelerin, let’s start by dissecting the supplement’s ingredients.

Will Accelerin’s Ingredients Boost Your Mental Powers

Compared to many of the other brain boosting supplements we’ve reviewed, it’s positive that Accelerin featured a full product label and ingredients list on their website. These include:

  • Vitamin B3 (Niacin) 30mg
  • Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine Hydrochloride) 5mg
  • Proprietary Blend 545mg: Caffeine, GABA, Bacopa Monnieri, Alpha-GPC, L-Theanine, Phosphatidylserine, L-Tyrosine, Vinpocetine, Huperzine A.

Product label aside, are any of Accelerin’s ingredients effective? Potentially, yes, although there are some things to consider.

When acquired through food sources, niacin is listed as possibly effective for reducing the chances of being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, although WebMD notes that, “there is no evidence that taking a stand-alone niacin supplement helps to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.”

Caffeine is widely known to boost mental alertness, although this effect is only temporary and doesn’t necessarily mean that it will improve brain performance or memory.

Bacopa Monnieri (also known as bacopa, or as the active ingredient bacopin) is listed as possibly effective for improving memory in otherwise healthy adults. However, recommended dosing is 300mg per day over the course of 12 weeks, but since this ingredient is part of a proprietary blend, there’s no way to know if Accelerin contains enough to provide any benefits (we’ll come back around to this in a second).

Phosphatidylserine is thought to boost thinking in patients experiencing age-related mental decline, and for improving some symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. There isn’t enough evidence showing this ingredient can provide any benefits for otherwise healthy individuals, though.

L-Tyrosine may help improve alertness following a lack of sleep, and vinpocetine might help Alzheimer’s patients think slightly better, although the evidence is murky.

Finally, huperzine A might help treat dementia and boost memory in otherwise healthy individuals.

Outside of these, there is insufficient clinical evidence showing that vitamin B6, GABA, alpha-gpc, or l-theanine can provide any of the benefits claimed by Accelerin’s manufacturer.

Pro tip: Again though, remember that the vast majority of Accelerin’s ingredients are part of a proprietary formulation. So even for those ingredients listed as “possibly effective,” we don’t know how much is contained in the supplement, or whether or not this is enough to provide any benefits.

Will you experience any side effects from Accelerin’s ingredients?

Side Effects Related to Accelerin’s Ingredients

Accelerin’s ingredients shouldn’t cause any side effects for most customers, although the most common one is mild digestive upset. Keep in mind that niacin is also known to cause flushing, although this should subside once the ingredient has made its way through your system.

But what causes age-related mental decline in the first place? Outside of supplements like Accelerin, if you’re looking to minimize any side effects, is there anything you can do to prevent it?

Causes & Treatments for Age-Related Mental Decline

Age-related cognitive decline and memory loss is a common occurrence as we age (generally once we reach 60), such as forgetting a person’s name or wondering why we just walked into the kitchen.

This is because our brain doesn’t work quite as well as it once did, and slowly loses its ability to encode events or facts and then quickly recall the information. This is something known as mild cognitive impairment (MCI).

What’s not normal, however, is more severe forms of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s, which can have a significant impact on quality of life.

In most cases, MCI doesn’t significantly impact your daily life, although it can be frustrating when you can’t immediately remember something. So is there anything you can do to prevent this from occurring?

In short, yes, and most of it involves lifestyle changes, not necessarily taking a new supplement. This includes getting 30 minutes of moderate exercise per day, getting your high blood pressure and cholesterol under control, engaging your brain with mentally challenging activities, getting plenty of sleep, and maintaining a close social network.

Still thinking about giving Accelerin a try? How much does it cost?

How Much Does Accelerin Cost?

Accelerin is available in the following packages, including free shipping:

  • 1 Bottle: $58.95
  • 3 Bottles: $126.90
  • 5 Bottles: $159.95

Regardless of which option you choose, Accelerin comes with a 30-day refund policy (even for used bottles), less S&H charges and a $9.95 restocking fee. In order to request one, you’ll need to contact customer service at 888-535-5789.

Given all of this, what’s the bottom line about Accelerin?

Will Accelerin Accelerate Your Mental Powers?

The HighYa team has reviewed dozens of brain supplements over the years, including popular options like Brain Storm Elite, Neuroflexyn, and many more. Compared to these, Accelerin comes with some positives, such as featuring a full product label on their website, and the fact that there isn’t a free trial in sight.

On top of this, there’s some good evidence showing that many of Accelerin’s ingredients can potentially provide some brain benefits. So what’s the catch?

Most importantly, you want to know if Accelerin is a solid value for the money. From this perspective, we’re concerned that:

  • We don’t know how much of each ingredient is contained in the supplement (or if these amounts are enough to provide any benefits), and
  • Accelerin’s relatively high price.

Given these concerns, we’d have a hard time recommending the supplement as a legitimate way of combating age-related mental decline, or as a good use of your money.

Instead, we’d recommend speaking with your physician about more effective methods of improving your memory. You can even start the process right now by using some of the tips above, or by reading The Truth About Memory Supplements!

After buying Accelerin I did what the bottle said knowing there wasn't a lot of info. It says to take 2 capsules a day. That's what I did Iand 'm on my second day and I'm currently having a reaction. My skin is all blotchy red and hot, I feel weak. I don't think this brain enhancement should be on the market. I think it is a scam, don't buy Accelerin.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

There is a reason it hasn't been evaluated as it claims. There has been severe itching associated with use, probably due to high caffeine concentration. I have taken Accelerin for a week and only noticed side effects and no brain boosting power.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
