About Adipodex

Created by Nutrex Research, Adipodex is a thermogenic fat burner that’s claimed to help control appetite and food intake, and to promote clean energy and intense focus. Because of this, the manufacturer calls Adipodex a “powerful stimulant weight loss sensation” that works all day with just one dose.

In order to accomplish this, Adipodex is claimed to contain the following ingredients:

Proprietary Blend 720mg:

  • Caffeine Anhydrous
  • 2-Amino-4-Methylpentane Citrate
  • N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine
  • Theobromine Anhydrous
  • Yohimbine HCl, Bioperine

According to the manufacturer, you should take one capsule of Adipodex in the morning, without food, and not within 12 hours of sleep.

Really, who wouldn’t want to send their energy through the roof, shed fat, and think more clearly? But when it comes down to it, is this what you can realistically expect Adipodex to provide? Consider the following:

What is Thermogenesis?

At its most basic, thermogenesis is “the process of heat production in organisms,” which can potentially increase the amount of fat burned.

Traditional exercise is a form of thermogenesis, as your body warms up and begins using stored energy, usually in the form of fat. However, thermogenic supplements (such as Adipodex) can increase your body’s core temperature without exercise, and possibly help you to burn additional calories, above and beyond working out. In other words, these types of supplements claim to induce thermogenesis, even if you’re sitting on your couch watching TV.

But will Adipodex’s ingredients really induce thermogenesis and help you lose weight? Will they also sharpen your thinking? Let’s take a look.

Can Adipodex’s Ingredients Provide Real Weight Loss Results?

As you saw in the first section, Adipodex is loaded with stimulants that are known to provide you with a temporary boost in energy, as well as increasing mental alertness (or “intense focus” as claimed by the manufacturer). On top of this, ingredients such as tyrosine have been shown to also improve mental performance and memory.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that the increased body heat caused by these stimulants doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll lose more weight. In fact, if nothing else, you’ll probably lose more weight from the appetite suppression caused by these stimulants than you will from the increased core temperature. In addition, as soon as you stop taking stimulants like Adipodex, it’s likely that your weight will quickly return.

When it comes down to it, the only tried and true method of losing weight and keeping it off is through regular exercise and eating a balanced diet.

Adipodex Side Effects

Because Adipodex is loaded with stimulants, some users may experience side effects such as insomnia, nervousness, restlessness, stomach irritation, nausea, and increased heart rate and respiration.

Also, keep in mind that 2-Amino-4-Methylpentane Citrate (also known as AMP Citrate) is a closely-related replacement for the now banned DMAA that may result in similar side effects such as heart attack, seizures, and neurological conditions. It’s a very new ingredient in supplements though, so the long-term effects are largely unknown.

Because of its high stimulant content, Adipodex’s manufacturer recommends using the supplement on a 3 days on, 1 day off pattern. They also state that Adipodex shouldn’t be taken for more than 60 days at a time, which should be followed by a 30-day break.

What Adipodex Customers Are Saying

At the time of our research, there were 12 customer reviews for Adipodex on Amazon, with an average rating of 4 stars, where the most common compliment was that it provided an intense rush of energy that lasted for hours. On the other hand, more than one customer noted that Adipodex shouldn’t be taken by anyone sensitive to stimulants, and that you might experience an intense crash once the effects wear off.

SupplementCritique gave Adipodex a 2.5-star review, based on the fact that it might work for some individuals, and that its price is fairly low compared to the competition. However, the author also noted that it contains a heavy dose of stimulants, to which you’ll quickly build a tolerance.

Finally, FatBurnersForAbs noted that Adipodex’s ingredients may help burn fat and keep your mind sharp, but that the AMP Citrate it contains isn’t all that different from the now-banned DMAA (as noted in the previous section), which can lead to heart complications.

From a company perspective, Adipodex is manufactured by Nutrex Research, Inc. based out of Oviedo, FL. The company is not rated with the Better Business Bureau, and there were no complaints filed as of 4/9/15.

Adipodex Pricing & Refund Policy

Adipodex is priced at $49.95 per bottle (45-day supply), although a buy 2, get 1 free promotion was being offered at the time of our research. In addition, Adipodex is available through Amazon.com and several other third-party online retailers, often at lower prices than directly through the manufacturer.

If purchased from the company, Adipodex comes with a 30-day refund policy (less S&H charges), even for opened/used items. In order to request a refund, you’ll need to contact customer service at 888-368-8739.

Can Adipodex Help You Achieve Your Weight Loss Goals?

Chopping to the Point: Ultimately, the health risks associated with some of the stimulants contained in Adipodex may not be in line with the amount of weight loss you experience from using it.

With this said, Nutrex Research appears to be a reputable company that stands behind their products, although we’d strongly recommend speaking with your physician prior to placing your Adipodex order.
