What Is Alphadrox?
Billed as a testosterone booster, Alphadrox is a nutritional supplement that claims to be able to maximize your workout potential, helping to increase muscle mass, cut recovery time and increase your metabolic efficiency.
The manufacturer claims that the supplement uses an all-natural, proprietary muscle-building formula that is custom formulated for men who want to get the most out of their fitness lifestyle.
The product also claims to be able to increase sexual appetite, increasing virility and stamina for more intense sexual experiences. It also claims to be able to increase blood flow in the body, leading to harder, fuller erections.
Have you tried a variety of different fitness supplements, only to be left hanging with disappointing results? For many fitness-minded men, the idea of a perfect supplement to boost daily results from a workout sounds like the perfect solution to the all-too-familiar feeling of not getting the most out of your efforts.
Obviously if you’re reading this, chances are the main question running through your mind is simple; is Alphadrox the real deal, or just another product that you’ll soon abandon.
In this next section, we’ll take a look at how the supplement claims to work in the body. From there, we’ll take a closer look at the ingredients included in the formula in order to decide if they are truly effective at delivering on the claims made by the product.
How Alphadrox Claims To Work
Alphadrox claims to be able to provide all of its lofty benefits by increasing blood flow throughout the body, increasing Nitric Oxide production in the body, and helping to build muscle and regenerate tissues. The manufacturer claims that for best results, the supplement should be taken as part of a daily fitness regimen.
We’ll dive further into these claims in a moment, but how exactly do these sorts of supplements work in general? And, perhaps more importantly, what is testosterone?
What Is Testosterone?
Most of the central claims made by Alphadrox centers around increasing the testosterone levels in your body. Testosterone is the male equivalent of estrogen, and in turn, these two substances represent the main two sex hormones.
According to Healthline.com, sexual excitement is partly caused by rising levels of estrogen and testosterone, though other factors like psychological and physical stimulation also contribute to this phenomenon.
They also report that testosterone levels fluctuate with time, and begin to gradually decrease after you are 30. This is where testosterone boosters come into play, but how exactly do they factor into the bigger picture?
How Do Testosterone Boosters Work?
Testosterone boosting supplements claim to work by increasing the amount of free testosterone in your body. Here at HighYa, we’ve written an in-depth guide before on the subject, so if you’re curious, you can read all about these sorts of supplements right here.
Put simply, however, many testosterone company’s assert that boosting your testosterone levels have many benefits for men, from increased libido and sexual performance to increased muscle mass growth and energy levels. But is this true?
The exact answer is still unclear, as it turns out. However, a study carried out by the National Institute of Health concluded that the policy of replacing testosterone in men over 65 using supplements is currently not justifiable by the data collected within the study itself.
Does this mean that these supplements are a complete waste of time for you? Not necessarily, but it does show us that there is insufficient clinical data to make a surefire statement on the matter.
In order to try and provide some additional clarity, let’s take a closer look at the ingredients being used in Alphadrox’s formula.
According to the main website, there are 3 active ingredients inside Alphadrox; L-Arginine, L-Citrulline, and L-Norvaline. The manufacturer claims that these three ingredients help to increase Nitric Oxide production in the body, help to relax the arteries and improve blood flow, and build lean muscle and regenerate tissue, respectively.
Let’s break down each of these ingredients in order to determine just how effective these ingredients are in reality.
L-Arginine is an amino acid, which are chemicals essential for building proteins. L-Arginine can often be found in various red meats, fish, poultry, and dairy products. It can also be synthesized in a laboratory environment.
According to WebMD, there is insufficient evidence to support the claim that L-Arginine can increase workout performance.
Some evidence supports the fact that the amino acid can increase workout time, but other tests have shown that taking the substance, both with or without antioxidants does not increase performance in male cyclists.
On the sexual front, WebMD states that the amino acid has shown to be possibly effective at improving sexual function in men who suffer from Erectile Dysfunction. Taking 5 grams by mouth daily appears to improve function in otherwise healthy males, which lends some credence to the manufacturers claim that the product can help to increase sexual function.
L-Citrulline is another amino acid that is produced naturally both in foods such as watermelons, and also in the body. Although the substance has a few different medicinal qualities, WebMD states that the amino acid has insufficient evidence to show that it supports a more effective workout routine. In fact, in one research instance, exercisers who took L-Citrulline actually wore out more quickly on a treadmill than those who didn’t.
L-Norvaline doesn’t appear in any of WebMD’s databases, and it seems as though information about the compound is scarce online in general. According to Wikipedia, the chemical is closely related to the more common amino acid valine. We were unable to find any trace of scientific data to back up the manufacturers claims that the amino acid helps with exercise performance.
So, while it looks as though two of the ingredients above, L-Arginine and L-Citrulline, have been used in fitness supplements before, it would appear that there isn’t enough clinical evidence to support that they are truly effective for producing the kind of fitness results that the manufacturer of Alphadrox describes in their marketing materials.
That being said, we were able to possibly substantiate some of the claims made about Alphadrox as it pertains to sexual performance. L-Arginine has been shown to increase sexual function in men suffering from Erectile Dysfunction, but according to WebMD, there’s no indication that any of the ingredients are effective for improving sexual stamina.
Now that we’ve got this out of the way, how much will Alphadrox actually cost you?
Alphadrox Pricing & Return Policy
It looks as though Alphadrox is currently only available as part of a “Free Trial” pricing structure. This means that your only option for purchasing the product will be to pay $4.95 for a free trial supply of the product.
What isn’t immediately clear until you pay a visit to the “Terms” section of the website is that you’ll also be signing up for the company’s autoship program.
There’s also some confusing wording being used on the checkout page, because while one section lists the trial as lasting 21 days, the actual terms section lists 14 as the duration of the trial.
Whichever is correct (we’d place our bet on 14 days), you’ll be of being charged $74.95 continually each and every month until you cancel with the company.
Here at HighYa, we’ve reviewed hundreds of nutritional supplements over the years, and one thing that we’ve noticed is that this is an incredibly common tactic used to rope customers in under the guise of only having to pay shipping for the “free trial”.
It looks as though the only way to cancel this autoship membership is to call customer support at 877-860-8736, Monday - Friday between the hours of 9am-5pm MST. As for the return policy, it looks as though the manufacturer offers a refund for customers “willing to evaluate the product and determine its effectiveness in weight loss.”
Confusing language aside, in order to claim your refund, you’ll need to call customer support at the number above and request it. The terms also state that shipping and handling are non-refundable under this policy.
Next, let’s take a look and see if there is any customer feedback on Alphadrox that can give us any insight to how the supplement is in action.
Are There Any Customer Reviews For Alphadrox?
As of the time of this writing, we weren’t able to find any customer reviews on the web for Alphadrox. What we did find, however, were several different websites “reviewing” the product as independent entities.
Several of these sites fall into the category of affiliate sites, which based on our experience reporting and reviewing products often post overly simplistic, positive reviews that tend to skip over any negative points much of the time.
These sorts of websites have become so popular in recent years that we have created a guide to help you understand and navigate your way around them. If you’d like to read more about this, you can find our guide right here.
Now, let’s bring everything that we’ve learned together in order to answer the ultimate question: Is Alphadrox legit?
The Bottom Line: Is Alphadrox What It Claims To Be?
Taking into account the less-than-stellar ingredients (based on the information we found above from authoritative sources), autoship programs, and confusing return policy language, we feel that any value you get out of taking Alphadrox might well be overshadowed by the financial price of entry.
The ingredients, in particular, give us pause, because based on our sources, not one of them has been clinically proven to provide the benefits that the manufacturer promises you will receive by taking Alphadrox.
As stated at the beginning of this overview, many men would surely love to find the perfect fitness supplement that truly delivers on the promise of increasing performance and muscle growth across the board.
Even though this elusive perfect supplement might not even exist, at the end of the day, it’s up to you to decide what product will be best for your lifestyle, as well as your fitness needs and goals.
In our opinion, the money you’ll spend on this supplement might possibly be better used by talking to a trained professional about how best to reach your fitness goals and aspirations.
