The Biotic Balance Probiotic supplement contains 10 different strains of bacteria to balance your belly and provide unique benefits, such as promoting digestive health, weight loss, and fighting fatigue.

Biotic Balance also promises 50 billion CFUs of these “super strains” in each dose, which is more than twice the amount found in other leading brands (we’ll come back to this point shortly, so be sure to keep it in mind).

Biotic Balance Probiotic is vegan, gluten free, and 100% natural, and you’ll only need to take 1 capsule per day in order to experience these benefits.

Probiotic supplements have become all the rage over the past several years, in no small part because they’re widely recommended by doctors for all kinds of digestion issues. Now, you’re wondering 1) if you should take one and if you should, 2) if Biotic Balance is the right option for you.

Let’s start the journey by taking a look at the basics behind probiotic supplements.

What Are Probiotics? What Are They Effective For?

Here at HighYa, we consider ourselves experts on all things probiotics. After all, we’ve written a couple dozen in-depth probiotic reviews to date, as well as a series of articles like Probiotics 101 and Understanding Probiotics.

To get a detailed overview of what these products are, how they work, and the benefits they might provide, we’d strongly recommend reading through at least a couple of these articles.

In a nutshell though, here’s the situation: Your digestive tract (commonly known as your “gut”) houses trillions of individual bacteria cells, which are responsible for a variety of functions. There are also “bad” bacteria in your gut that can cause digestion issues, along with gassiness and bloating.

If these bad bacteria become too numerous, or if you’re deficient in good bacteria for some reason (a round of antibiotics, excessive stress, poor diet, and more), taking a probiotic supplement has been clinically shown to help re-balance the gut and return digestion to normal.

On top of this, probiotics often cause no worse side effects than mild gassiness and upset stomach, which often passes once your bacteria levels re-balance.

What about Biotic Balance’s strains? Do they have any specific benefits?

What Bacteria Strains Does Biotic Balance Contain?

According to Biotic Balance’s supplements label, it contains the following bacteria strains:

  • Bifidobacterium lactis: Supports healthy immune function
  • Bifidobacterium longum: Helps you absorb all the nutrients from your food.
  • Bifidobacterium breve: Relieves occasional indigestion by helping to break down sugars in the digestive tract.
  • Lactobacillus casei: Helps lower the body’s pH and stops harmful bacteria growth.
  • Lactobacillus paracasei: May help relieve fatigue and some allergy symptoms
  • Lactobacillus salivarius: Produces acids that may destroy harmful bacteria.
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus: Another bacteria that’s key in digesting dairy products.
  • Lactobacillus plantarum: May prevent harmful bacteria from colonizing your colon.
  • Lactobacillus bulgaricus: Helps stimulate the growth of other healthy probiotics.
  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus: May help boost metabolism.

Lactic acid (lactobacillus) are the largest group of bacteria found in the digestive tract, and as their name might lead you to believe, they’re often found in dairy products like yogurts and cheeses. Of these, the acidophilus strain is one of the most common found in probiotic supplements, since it’s been found to help treat IBS symptoms, vaginal bacterial infections, urinary tract infections in children, and more.

Bifidobacteria are a close second to lactobacillus in terms of popularity. Lactis might help with everything from reducing constipation to modulating brain activity, while longum might be especially useful for treating some gastrointestinal diseases.

While Biotic Balance’s strains can certainly provide some benefits, they’re fairly common among probiotic supplements. The company also claims that their 50 billion CFU (colony forming units) is twice the amount found in other leading brands, although you’ll find dozens of other supplements out there that match (or exceed) this count.

Who Makes the Biotic Balance Probiotic?

Based on their customer service phone number and email address, it appears that Biotic Balance is manufactured by Organifi (the same company who makes Organifi Green Juice) and fitlife.tv, both of which are operated by Drew Canole.

According to Drew’s bio, he was on the path to becoming overweight, which affected his energy and passion. Before letting things go too far, Drew transformed his body and found that so many others wanted to do the same, which is why he started educating. In addition to his role as a coach, Drew is also author of several fitness and juicing-related books, which seem to get mostly positive marks from customers.

Organifi Green Juice had a 2.4-star average rating here on HighYa at the time of our research. While some customers claimed to have experienced great results (one even claimed it saved their life), several others didn’t experience any results or had difficulties with the autoship program. Granted, this doesn’t mean you’ll experience any of the same with Biotic Balance.

Let’s continue this thought into the next section.

How Much Does Biotic Balance Cost?

Biotic Balance Probiotic is available in the following quantities:

  • 1 Bottle: $47.95, plus $7.95 S&H
  • 3 Bottles: $129.95, plus $12.95 S&H
  • 4 Bottles: $149.95, plus $14.95 S&H

Important note: If you order the single bottle option, you’ll be enrolled in the company’s autoship program, which means you’ll continue receiving a new bottle once per month and charged accordingly. The 3 and 4-bottle options can be bought via a one-time purchase, as well as an autoship enrollment (your choice).

All Biotic Balance Probiotics come with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H. In order to request one, you’ll need to reach out to customer service at 760-487-8587 or support@fitlife.tv.

Compared to many of the other probiotic supplements we’ve reviewed, Biotic Balance is priced about the same as Probiotic America, while coming in meaningfully less expensive than options like Priobioslim and PerfectBiotics. However, keep in mind that products like Trubiotics can be found for as little as $14.50, as can other probiotic supplements from local retailers.

Will Biotic Balance’s Probiotic Bring Harmony to Your Gut?

In an already crowded marketplace, supplements manufacturers are always trying to differentiate their probiotics from the competition. For this reason, you’ll find probiotics with extremely high CFU counts, mixed with other ingredients like green tea or enzymes, delivered in “pearls” instead of capsules, and much more.

In the end though, there’s insufficient clinical evidence showing that higher CFU counts (like found in Biotic Balance), or any of these other marketing angles, will provide better real-world results. As such, while it’s certainly important to buy from a reputable manufacturer, it might be worth your while to check out local, lower priced options before ordering a probiotic supplement online.
