I bought a Blue Diamond skillet through Kohl's

By Craig H., Tucson, AZ, Verified Reviewer

This skillet does not work. Every time I cook eggs, it blackens. The skillet does not clean up, this blackish white eggs sticks to the pan. I am very disappointed in this product. I try scrubbing, baking soda, detergent, nothing works. I would love to get my money BACK.

Great at first, then not so much!

By Jim H., Sierra Vista, AZ, Verified Reviewer

My 9" fry pan is used mostly for breakfast eggs. This pan worked great at first but gradually began to stick after two months of use. Now, after three months of careful use, eggs stick every time and "over easy" eggs are impossible. My seasoned cast iron pan isn't great at this, but is better than the Blue Diamond.

This pan has never seen a dishwasher, nor has it seen high heat, even though the manufacturer claims it can withstand 850 degrees.

Pan is not what they claim it to be

By Helen S., Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I received several of these Blue Diamond Pans at Christmas to replace my old one. Well, it was no stick the very first time I used it, then I always had to spray with Pam, use butter or oil, not at all what it says. I wash with warm water and never have used anything harsh to wipe it down and the coating is coming off. Gotta say I am very disappointed with this.

Worst pan I ever had

By David D., Mounds, OK, Verified Reviewer

From the time I bought it everything stuck. I even tried using cooking spray and oil everything still stuck. I finally threw it in the trash. I wish that I could have given the pan less than one star.

Sticking

By Michelle C., Troy, ID, Verified Reviewer

I don’t heat the pan but recently it begins to gain. I have only had it for two months. I’m wondering if there is a way to get it to stop sticking. There are no scratches but it definitely won’t cook an egg at this point. Very expensive for the quality. Also, I have never run either pan through a dishwasher.

Cookware

By Deborah D., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I bought the 10-piece set and I made mashed potatoes in the pot with a medal masher. When I washed the pot out, there were some scratches. I am disappointed to see the scratches for I waited a whole year to get them. I feel that they are doing false advertising. The frying pans are not bad, but you do need grease or margarine in them.

Disgusted

By Bill L., Tucson, AZ, Verified Reviewer

I bought this pan thinking it would be awesome. Two weeks into moderate use, it has proven to be of less quality than a 10" pan I bought at Walmart as part of a three pan set for $9.99!

The no-stick surface is NOT effective...the coating in the center of the pan is clearly GONE, everything sticks to the pan and cannot be easily cleaned. I use oil, and or Pam, doesn't matter, this pan is JUNK.

P.S. The paint/coating on the bottom of the pan is chipping off!

Worst pan purchase to date. Non-stick fails in weeks.

By Dave N., Louisville, KY, Verified Reviewer

I normally don't write reviews concerning cookware, but after seeing how quickly this pan fails and spending $30+ on it, I felt compelled to warn others. The ONLY thing good about this pan is that it did not warp over the 6 weeks I've used it. The non-stick fails faster than even cheap Teflon pans and is worthless after only 5 weeks of daily use. This was with the utmost care taken to hand clean and not overheat it and not use metal utensils on it. The first few times I used it, I loved it (and thought "finally, an alternative to teflon coating that works"), but after about the 10th or so use, I noticed things began to stick. I thought to myself, "ok, this is the worst it will get", but I was wrong. Everything sticks to it now. I've never seen a pan go bad so quickly (mind you, I've tried the expensive white ceramic non-sticks - and they're only good for 9 months (though it was washed in the dishwasher - my mistake), so I figured Blue Diamond had to be better (I certainly looked nice!), but, alas, it was a complete waste of money.

Too bad as it's a sturdy and well-built pan - transfers heat excellently. Blue Diamond needs to reformulate and test in the real world before going to market!

Unhappy consumer

By Frieda R., North Bend, OR, Verified Reviewer

I have a 10-inch fry pan I purchased because of good reviews. It has stuck from day one. It sticks every time even when I use oil. When it sticks it stains, I have to soak it forever to get it clean, even then it doesn't come clean. I will never purchase another.

Pan is crap

By Ed H., New Jersey, Verified Reviewer

My wife bought a Blue Diamond frying pan. The first time I used it I almost burned my hand on the handle. Can't pick up by handle with a hot pad. Next problem is the non-stick wears off fast. Can't make eggs without butter in the pan. The pan will go in the trash can. Don't waste your money.

Greatest pan on earth

By Dan H., Saint Francis, KS, Verified Reviewer

I tested this pan by first running over it with my truck to see if it was durable, then took a torch to inside, after it withstood all of that, I treated it like directions said, I cooked hash browns and eggs in it. Wow, amazing, nothing sticks. Then I baked bread in it, fantastic, the bread just fell right out. I stuck the pan in the freezer to test it, handled that just great. Next, I cooked a steak at high heat and it seared it perfect. Buy this pan, you can hit your husband in the head, and it will still work.

Not good

By Asdis O., Iceland, Verified Reviewer

I bought a Blue Diamond frying pan at Kohl's.

In The Villages in November 2018 when I started to use it, it is rolling on the ceramic cooking machine, so I am not happy. If you want to send me a new one, then I am visiting the US on 24th-30th of January.

Handle gets hot

By Robert M., Pittsburgh, PA, Verified Reviewer

I have the Blue Diamond pans. I like the non-stick, but you cannot touch the handle, it gets too hot. I wish there was a coating on the handle so you can pick it up when serving. It is a good product but very bad design of the handle.

STICKS! I am going to throw it out. I'm so mad that I fell for this nonsense. Going back to my old faithful T-Fal pans. I wish I could take pictures of this pan. I've only had it for about a month. Today I tried again with ground beef. I couldn't even move the meat around without scraping it off the bottom.

10-inch frying pan

By Natalie H., Sylvania, GA, Verified Reviewer

I got a set of Blue Diamond for Christmas. Today is April 2nd. I have had this cookware now for three months and hate it. My 10-inch pan started sticking within two weeks of use. No, I do not use high heat on the cookware or put in the dishwasher. The money spent on this cookware is a waste of money. You are better off spending more money to get what you want. In order to use my warranty, I need to have all the documentation from purchase, but this was a gift. I wouldn't recommend you even attempting to spend money on this.

Disappointed

By Marlene C., Woodruff, SC, Verified Reviewer

I bought 10pc, 12in and 4pc frypan set in February of this year and the fry pans are now sticking horribly. I am very disappointed in this product. It was my first time buying and will be my last. Not sure how to go about contacting customer service as all leads come to a dead end.

Dissatisfied customer.

Do not waste your money, starts out amazing until coating wears off

By Jenness S., Texas, Verified Reviewer

I absolutely loved this pan for 4 months. Cleanup was easy, only a paper towel to wipe away excess and brand new. I tend to keep all pots oiled slightly but clean between uses. Used only silicon tools with it. My BF, ONE TIME, used metal tongues with hard nylon edges to turn over meat about 3 weeks ago and he is a very good cook so I know he wasn't just raking the pan and now the pan is useless. There are 100 tiny minuscule scratches now and everything sticks. It was NYLON edges - the metal wasn't even connecting.

This morning I tried to make eggs, put organic coconut oil (too much) in the pan and gently cracked open eggs into it. Even the oldest pans it would not stick in that much oil. I couldn't even get the eggs up without breaking them. Threw it in the trash. Just worthless.

It states you can use metal but that's a lie - you can't even use hard nylon. Nothing advertised is true.

I noticed that even with the most gentle care that it was starting to not be as good after 4 months - so perhaps the coating had worn with consistent daily albeit gentle as a feather use, that even nylon ruined it.

Don't waste your money. I'm really annoyed at how mad I am at this pan because at first, I was so happy with it.

Never buying Blue Diamond Pan again.

By Tracy L., South Carolina, Verified Reviewer

Bought the largest fry pan 9" inside cooking area and 11 inches rim to rim, was great first 2 times using. Loved how it cooked! Cleanup was easy. BUT since those 2 times and thereafter, every time I cook, the pan won't come completely clean.

It leaves a brown sticky residue. I loved the size of the fry pan, very disappointed because they are not a cheap fry pan, grateful I didn't buy any more than 1 pan.

Bad smell when heating

By Thomas D., Newark, DE, Verified Reviewer

I purchased a 12 cookware set from Walmart. I read the instructions and washed the pans by hand, The pans seem to have a strange smell when they heat up, I'm careful not to use high heat on them. The smell has me concerned, the label says non-toxic but it sure smells toxic to me, so I'm thinking of returning them.

Blue Diamond 11" frying pan review

By April E., Florida, Verified Reviewer

We have used this frying pan almost daily for three months without any issues that others are complaining about. We never put it in the dishwasher, or use high heat. Our choice of oil is organic butter and we have never had any issues of sticking, chipping, scratching or marking. The inside is still perfect, and so is the bottom. Let it cool off before rinsing or washing. We are very health-conscious and did not want the Teflon type the emits nasty harmful gases. This one seems to be a healthier choice, although who can you believe these days. I bought it at Bed Bath & Beyond using their coupons. It appears that the manufacturer's website sells them for less, especially the lids at $10.00 each.

So far, we are very pleased as we tried the Green Ceramic pan and it was a flop, barely lasted six months and made by this very same company.

Emptor Caveat! Merry Christmas everyone!

Start off good, but not anymore!

By Ed C., Connecticut, Verified Reviewer

This Blue Diamond pan start of great, then now 6 months later never use extra virgin olive oil. Just butter or a slash of vegetable oil and eggs and other food like chicken breast, stir fry veggies is sticking. With little effort you can free the food from being stuck. But still stick, and stuck residue with a little elbow grease you are able to remove.

So, 2 stars. Other than that, it is better than the Copper crap out there.

Junk!

By Terry G., Minnesota, Verified Reviewer

About 3 weeks ago I purchased one of these junk fry pans from Kohl's. Worked great for the first 5 or 6 times I used it - but now it’s virtually useless. Everything sticks to it! I only cooked over-easy eggs and one time it cooked pancakes with it. The pan was never heated over medium-low and never longer than 15 minutes at a time. The issue is not that the pan was overheated. So total cook time is only a few hours before the nonstick no longer worked. Avoid this pan!

I love my pan.

By Marion R., Cleveland, OH, Verified Reviewer

With any non-stick pan, you must observe certain rules.

1) Do not wash with soap. Soak pan well, then clean off with sponge or rag. Wipe dry.

2) If the surface starts to stick, clean pan as above, rub a small amount of oil on the inside surface covering inside completely, then put in 350-degree oven for 1/2 hour to seal surface. Let cool and wipe with clean cloth. It will be good to go.

3) Keep outside clean each time you use the pan. Spattered grease can build up fast, ruining the looks of this beautiful pan.
