About Body Beast

Instead of doing repetitive sets, one muscle group at a time, Body Beast is a “new school” workout program created by “Beast from the East” Sagi Kavlev that claims to burn fat, carve lean, defined muscles, transform your body, and deliver incredible results in 90 days. In Body Beast, Sagi claims to have “cracked the code” to obtaining the lean, chiseled physique you’ve always using the latest exercise science known as Dynamic Set Training, which is claimed to quickly strip away fat and add definition.

Beachbody has been around for quite some time, and their exercise and workout videos are very popular. But did they create another success with the Body Beast program, or will it leave you flat on results?

How the Body Beast Workout Program Claims to Work

Body Beast is a new workout program from Beachbody that claims to utilize Dynamic Set Training, a breakthrough method that combines tried-and-true exercises with cutting-edge sports science and decades of professional bodybuilding secrets, to stress muscles and provide high-intensity workouts without using really big weights. In fact, the program’s website claims that if you can lift weights, you can follow Body Beast’s training plan, which is claimed to implement a proven combination of sets, reps, resistance, short recovery, and fatiguing and pre-fatiguing exercises.

Using only a few dumbbells and as little as 30 minutes per day, 6 days per week, Body Beast claims to be a step-by-step training program that can help you lose weight and achieve a narrower waist, a sleeker, more chiseled physique, contoured muscles, and a great body. On top of this, Body Beast’s eating plan, which includes custom meal plans, proven recipes, and quick and simple power shakes, is claimed to take all the guesswork out of getting built by not requiring you to count calories.

In order to accomplish all this, the Body Beast workout program includes 12 Dynamic Set Training workouts across 3 main “blocks:”

  • Block 1 – Includes Super sets, Giant sets, and Single sets, which target your chest, triceps, back, biceps, legs, and shoulders. This block is intended to create strength and definition.
  • Block 2 – This block includes Multi, Progressive, Combo, and Force sets targeting your back, chest, triceps, back, biceps, legs, and shoulders, which will help define your lean muscle.
  • Block 3 – Here, you’ll rotate back through the previous workouts to put a “finishing touch” on your transformation, putting a focus on abs and cardio.

With this said, Body Beast claims that you need to do 2 things to see amazing results during the 90-day program:

  1. Follow the program’s workout calendar, which is claimed to take less than an hour per day, 6 days per week.
  2. Follow the Body Beast no-stress, no-guesswork, no-starvation eating plan.

Despite all of its benefits, the Body Beast program is claimed to work for all men and women, regardless of age or fitness level.

Body Beast Pricing & Refund Policy

Body Beast is priced at 2 payments of $19.95 plus $9.95 S&H, bringing your total to $49.85.

In addition to the workout videos and eating plan, Body Beast also includes a day-by-day training schedule and Sagi’s Book of Beast, which is claimed to provide the trainer’s proven secrets for maximum results. You’ll also receive 3 bonus gifts:

  • An additional 38-minute workout named Total Body.
  • Free online access to the program’s premium online content, including added support, motivation, coaching, and more.
  • Free mobile access to the Body Beast program.

Body Beast, like all Beachbody products, comes with a 90-day refund policy less S&H charges. In order to initiate the process, you’ll need to contact customer service at (800) 998-1681 and obtain a Return Authorization Number.

Important Note: Body Beast can also be purchased through Amazon.com, although several reviewers claimed that the Body Beast mobile app isn’t available unless you purchase the system directly through Beachbody.

What Do Other Consumers Have to Say About Body Beast?

Overall, it appears that Body Beast has a primarily positive online customer reviews, with the most common compliments referencing the program’s effectiveness, its ease of use, and even some of the humor that Sagi includes in his videos. However, some of the most common complaints revolved around additional equipment (more about this in the following section), advertisements during workouts, Sagi’s comments during the workouts (rude, insensitive, un-PC, etc.), insufficient recovery time, and that the program is much more geared toward men than it is women.

From a company program, Body Beast is manufactured by Beachbody, LLC based out of Santa Monica, CA, who also makes other popular workout programs such as Focus T25, P90X, 21 Day Fix, and more. The company holds an A+ Better Business Bureau rating, despite more than 170 closed complaints over the past three years. Of these, the vast majority reference difficulty canceling orders/autoship programs.

Can the Body Beast Workout Program Help You Get the Physique You’ve Always Wanted in 90 Days?

If you’re looking to get lean and ripped, can Body Beast help you accomplish this? Perhaps, but keep the following in mind:

Nutrition Plays a Huge Role

As our Focus T25 Challenge participants discovered, nutrition is key if you’re looking to maximize your results with any Beachbody program, including Body Beast. In fact, many reviewers have commented that nutrition actually plays a bigger role than the exercises, which means that you’ll need to stick closely to the eating plan if you’re looking for the best results.

You’ll Need Additional Equipment

Like other Beachbody programs, what you get out of Body Beast depends largely what you put into it, and the workouts are intense.

Unlike other Beachbody programs though, you’ll need a fair amount of additional equipment in order to go through Body Beast, including dumbbells (adjustable if possible), a workout bench, an easy bar, as well as a pull up bar. A complete list can be found here.

Keep Your Expectations Realistic

While Body Beast certainly has the potential to help you achieve your fitness goals, you won’t look like Sagi at the end of the 90 days. Also, Body Beast is more helpful for increasing strength and muscle mass than it is for losing weight and shedding fat, so if you need to trim up, you’ll almost certainly need to add some additional cardio.

Finally, several online reviewers claimed that there is insufficient recovery time between sets, which may be problematic for beginning users, and could even lead to injury. In fact, one reviewer recommended taking 1-week breaks every 4 weeks (or so) to rest and allow your muscles to recover, which might improve your overall results.

Bottom line:

Like so many other Beachbody products, the Body Beast workout program almost certainly has the ability to help you achieve the physique you’ve always wanted. But keep in mind that you’ll have to put in a lot of hard work and diligently follow the eating plan for best results.

    Love It

My wife and I love the program and our bodies are changing quickly. We don't even follow the meal plan but we try to eat healthy high protein lean foods. We also drink whey protein after our workouts. I bought an over the door pull bar and use dumbbells only for all workouts. I use an exercise ball instead of a bench, seems to work more muscles. My one suggestion is to buy some dial turn adjustable weights in order to keep up with the video. If you want to get buff, this is the program.

My name is Anthony and I ordered the body beast on 11/27/2014 for $39.90 and the total cost was 64.53. I paid by debit and the representative divided the payments into two which left the remaining balance at $21.00 flat. Right? Wrong! So wrong. This morning on New Years Day, they debited my account for $79.00, what? So of course they're closed today. Well I tried a live agent online and of course the page never loaded. It's only been 30 days and I got ripped off.

I'm requesting every dime I sent back first thing in the morning. Let's see if they will stick to their word of the "90 day money back guarantee". I will never advise anyone to order this product.

I've owned and followed this program for a while now, not 90 days however. It's a great system if you stay on track, even as a woman. Anything worth having is worth working for, so don't think you can't follow the instructions and still get results. I cancelled all of the frills with the package, with not one problem whatsoever and Customer Service was more than willingly nice about it. Great system that will work with time and patience. Don't expect to accomplish a body of a weightlifter that has trained for 10-15 years n 90 days. BUT, you will see great results if kept up. WOMEN TOO. Oh, and if you feel 6 workout days are not enough for a good recovery, alter it by working out 5 and resting 2.

I love the workout and have received great results from this product. The reviews calling this a scam are obviously the ones who never had any real interest in bettering there health and lifestyle. I have been using this workout for over a year and have done many variations of the program, with nothing but impressive outcomes. I am leaner and stronger than ever at 41 years old.

At the start of the program:

    - 165 Bench press

    - 225 Squat

    - 250 Deadlift

My current stats one year later:

    - 285 Bench press

    - 335 Squat

    - 405 Deadlift

Remember I am a 41-year-old man weighing 205 pounds, and my start weight was 235. That being said, I highly recommend this to anyone who is serious about wanting a lifestyle change.

Unfortunately, the program suffers, I think because you get so excited from the infomercial but that soon plummets when you get your materials . Saji doesn't have the personality for this, he is so boring with his fake personality. Don't get me wrong, he looks good and has a great body and the exercises are really good and that's what we want it.

So it's probably better to turn down the volume and not listen to him because he makes you not want to workout.

Interesting note though, since I did purchase this for my wife, they should have had more people in the gym or at least a woman working out with them.

You got to work at it, like any other 'easy result' program. The models on the infomercial are a six-pack extreme positive outcome cases. If you are out to become a bodybuilding beast, not just needing to tone up and feel healthier, it might be a temptation. But as with other things, read the fine print. And what's wrong with love handles anyway? I did not get any incredible results even after 3 months.
