    I was royally ripped-off.

I ordered the 14-day free trial of New Brilliance Skin Cream on May 11, 2016, it was shipped out on May 12, 2016;,I was billed $89.95 on May 26, 2016. I happened to check my checking account on May 27, and saw the charge on my account. Needless to say, I was horrified. Upon learning this, I immediately called 888-875-8620. After several attempts to reach New Brilliance, I finally got through to a "real-live" person, only to be told that I was charged 14 days after I ordered their product, and that that was plainly stated in the order form I had authorized to bill me for shipping for the 14-day free trial.

No matter, how many times I pointed out that I'd ordered their product for a 14-day free trial, and had only had about 6 or 7 days to try the product -- they insisted that I was only billed 14 days after ordering the product, and that this was according to the contract I'd signed. The fact that I told the representative that this was fraudulent advertising, that the trial had been less than half the stated free trial period had no impact on the representative. She just kept asserting that I had committed to their terms and had no recourse in getting the $89.95 refunded.

I asked for the website for the product so I could re-check the contract. When I went to the website to check on it, no where on the page(s) could I find a statement that I would be charged 14 days from the order date. I combed through the ad meticulously, and it simply was not there. I called back and after interminable hold time, finally talked with a representative again. I told her that I'd gone to the website, and that no where on the ad was it stated that I would be charged $89.95 on the 14th day from my order.

I again demanded my money back, and again was basically called stupid for not reading the terms I'd committed myself to when I ordered the product. Arguing as logically and politely as I possibly could, I was insulted again and told that I would not receive a refund of my money. Both times, I demanded to speak to the supervisor, and both times was told that I was speaking to the supervisor (even though it was two different representatives I spoke with) -- that no one else could help me.

All I can say is that this outfit is out to scam honest customers out of their hard-earned money, and have no intention of honoring their claim that you would receive a free 14-day free trial of their product.

If there is no way to address this false advertising and rip-off of customers' money, then the system literally sucks. Why isn't there?

All I can say is beware of the scam being perpetrated upon innocent potential customers with this free-trial claim -- there's nothing free about it. And you'll lose your money. If you order New Brilliance Skin Cream, you'll be ripped off, for sure. You'll be insulted for pointing out the false claims being made in the advertising, and possibly even hung up on. There simply is no respect, and no way to redress this company. They are untouchable. SO BEWARE.

    Unhappy

The product is very harsh on the skin and it burns your skin after about the 2nd application. They never tell you they are putting you on auto ship if you don't cancel within the 14 day trial. Then you get charged almost $200 for the eye cream and the face serum. When I called to cancel and told them I wanted to return it, they said sorry you already paid for it, it's yours now. So I am stuck with $200 worth of product that I can't even use because it burns and irritates my skin. The lady told me it's supposed to do that because it tells you it's working. How's that for customer service.

    Scam

    • Truman, MN,
    • Feb 4, 2016

This company falsely starts charging your account 89.97 dollars when you only signed up for a free trial. Scam. And then there is no way to contact them to get it off your card. Don't do it, there are better companies that don't scam you.

    Scam

    • Avon, IN,
    • Jan 30, 2016

Read the fine print. They will ship product and bill your credit card if you don't cancel in 14 days at $90 per shipment. Then, if you complain, they will only give you a 50% refund. It's a big scam and they know it.

Close their page as fast as you can. What a scam. I'm very mad at myself. I would not even give it a star if I could.

Validity of the Products and Refund Problems

    • Parker, CO,
    • Jan 6, 2016

I took the 14-day trial offer for skin cream and serum. Both products caused a toxic reaction to the applied areas. I sent an e-mail on 12/07/2015 cancelling the order within the 14 days. I received an email on 12/09/2015 that directed me to call for a live representative to verify account information. They charged my credit card $179.70 on 12/10/2015. When I called to complain about the charge, they said that since I hadn't spoken to them by phone, the charge was proper. After more discourse, they agreed to refund 35%. I don't think Dr. Oz approves of this promotion.

    Scam Alert

Do not order a trial of this product, they didn't give me a chance to try it before charging my card $89.95 twice on the same day. I called and after lengthy conversation was told they would reverse the charges. Guess what -- THEY DID NOT. I am having to dispute it through my card.

    Scam

Even after calling, the trial period was not completely made clear as the rep assured me that I could extend my trial if I didn't have significant time to try. As I find through my checking account, the deduction your trial starts upon order date. How can you try something when it's not even in your possession? I was also delivered a bottle of their serum which I didn't order and was charged another $90.00.

After trying to get charges reversed, they offered me a 50% refund. This is not over. I will plaster this all over every social media available. I also found out that in several medical journals that these products have adverse side effects to the skin.

    Buyer beware

    • Bellingham,
    • Dec 2, 2015

There was absolutely no information on the product's content. I decided to do the trial, but actually I thought I was getting a free sample, which would then become an auto ship. Well, it turns out there must have been small print I missed and so am stuck with a product I will never use, and even though I hadn't opened it, they will not take it back. Bye-bye $90! Terrible business practice, unfriendly manager and product I wouldn't even give away.

    "Free Trial" Is a Scam

    • Nov 30, 2015
    • Verified Reviewer

Trial product is shipped with virtually no paperwork. There is no notification in the package, or through email, that advises you 14 days after receiving your "14 day free trial" for shipping charges ONLY, billed the day of the order, that you will be billed $89.85 for each "free trial" received.

Per discussion with customer service they have notified the customer in the 'terms & conditions' somewhere in the fine print. I was also informed that they 'win' 85% of disputes. What reputable company advertises that win? Why do they receive multiple disputes if selling a quality product through free trial introductions?

In summary, this product did not damage my skin but also did not perform as advertised. However, more importantly, there is no reputable business that offers a FREE TRIAL and then charges an exorbitant amount for the trial period.
