About Celebrity Hour Glass Belt

Celebrity Hour Glass is a new waist-training belt that’s claimed to provide 360 degrees of comfort and shaping that defines your waist, helps smooth rolls and bulges, and gives you a perfect hourglass shape. In fact, Celebrity Hour Glass is claimed to help you look up to 2 sizes slimmer in seconds.

Celebrity Hour Glass’s Thermo-Tex shaping fabric accomplishes this by straightening your posture, slimming your waist, supporting your back, and compressing your core. In addition, Celebrity Hour Glass uses 3 rows of hooks and eyes for the perfect training fit; all you have to do is clip and zip.

And because of this “perfect fit,” Celebrity Hour Glass is claimed to be virtually invisible under clothes and so comfortable that it can be worn any time, including at home, at the gym, at work, or when you’re out for a night on the town.

But is this what you can realistically expect from using Celebrity Hour Glass? And are there any concerns you should be wary of before placing your order? Consider the following:

The Recent Popularity of Waist Training

Over the past several months, we’ve seen a huge increase in the number of waist training products entering the market, including Genie Hour Glass (more about this shortly), Hot Shaper, Miss Belt, Xtreme Power Belt, and many more.

This is no doubt due to Kim Kardashian posting Instagram pictures about her experience with waist trainers, along with other celebrities such as Jessica Alba, who vouched that corset training helped get her body back after giving birth.

But, did your parents ever say to you, “If someone jumped off a bridge, would you jump too?” In other words, just because everyone seems to be talking about waist training, and celebrities seem to swear by them, does this mean you should jump on the bandwagon? Are waist trainers even safe?

Is Waist Training Effective?

Ultimately, this depends on what you mean by “effective.” Will waist trainers help you temporarily look slimmer by compressing your midsection (or what the Celebrity Hour Glass website calls your core) and smoothing rolls and bulges? At least to some degree, probably so.

On the other hand, will waist trainers such as Celebrity Hour Glass provide you with lasting slimming results once you take it off? Will it help you lose weight? Will it otherwise provide you with a sexier figure when it’s not being worn? No, no, and no.

Granted, if you choose to wear your Celebrity Hour Glass belt to the gym, you might lose a little extra water weight through sweating, but as soon as you replenish your fluids, the weight will immediately return.

Ok, so we now know that Celebrity Hour Glass won’t help you lose weight or provide any benefits when it’s not being worn, but are there any drawbacks?

Celebrity Hour Glass Side Effects

Despite the minimal benefits provided by waist training belts such as Celebrity Hour Glass, they come with some very real (and potentially dangerous) side effects.

Because the primary goal of waist trainers is to shape the soft tissue around your midsection, or core, your lungs can be restricted and lead to problems breathing, which could be especially troublesome when working out. This restriction can also lead to lung infections and rib damage, and the bowel restriction can lead to constipation.

On top of this, too-tight waist trainers can even cause nerve damage, not to mention stress on your heart, blood clots, and more.

What is Thermo-Tex Shaping Fabric?

There appears to be several different products named Thermo-Tex, including a material for making pools and covers, heating pads, and even windows. However, outside of sites directly related to Celebrity Hour Glass, there doesn’t appear to be a universal product that’s featured in waist trainers or other garments.

With this in mind, it’s our opinion that “Thermo-Tex” is simply a name used by the manufacturer to make Celebrity Hour Glass seem more revolutionary than it actually is. What material it’s made from though, we can’t be sure, but it appears to be relatively thick and non-breathable, so we’d definitely have some concerns about how hot Celebrity Hour Glass would be, especially if you chose to wear it all throughout the day.

Who Makes the Celebrity Hour Glass Waist Trainer?

Celebrity Hour Glass is manufactured by Tristar Products, one of the leaders within the “As Seen on TV” industry. In fact, Tristar also makes another waist training product named Genie Hour Glass, which seems to be meaningfully different than Celebrity Hour Glass by featuring a smaller design and dual-strap system. Despite these differences, these two products make essentially identical claims.

It’s also important to note that Genie Hour Glass comes with a relatively poor online customer reputation. Among more than 40 HighYa reader reviews, the product had an average rating of 1.6 stars at the time of our research, based on common complaints of poor quality, ill-fitting design, and long delivery times (one reader claimed they waited more than 3 months).

Now, this doesn’t mean you’ll experience the same with Celebrity Hour Glass, but it’s certainly something you might want to keep in the back of your mind.

Celebrity Hour Glass Pricing & Refund Policy

Two Celebrity Hour Glass waist trainers (one in blue and one in purple) are priced at $19.99 plus $15.98 S&H. Wow! Those sure are some high S&H charges!

Celebrity Hour Glass is available in sizes XS-3X, so be sure to check their size chart before placing your order.

Celebrity Hour Glass comes with a 60-day refund policy, less S&H charges. To put this in perspective, this means by the time you ship the waist trainers back to the manufacturer, you could lose more in S&H charges than you’ll receive as a refund.

In order to request a refund, you’ll need to contact customer service at 973-287-5176.

Can Celebrity Hour Glass Help You Look Slimmer?

Although Celebrity Hour Glass might help you temporarily look slimmer while it’s being worn, it will not provide you with any permanent shaping or weight loss results. And if it’s worn improperly, waist trainers such as Celebrity Hour Glass can actually cause some fairly severe side effects.

With this in mind, as well as the product’s ultra-high, non-refundable S&H charges, we’d strongly recommend speaking with your physician about more effective weight loss and shaping options prior to placing your Celebrity Hour Glass order.
