About Cerebria

Cerebria is a nootropic supplement that uses an all-natural formula to increase energy, help you maintain focus, boost brain performance, and enhance your memory, focus, clarity, and mood.

Cerebria claims to accomplish this using a unique formulation of tyrosine, alpha GPC, GABA, vinpocetine, bacopa monnieri, and huperzine a, which provide optimum blood flow to the brain, along with improved nutrient and oxygen delivery. In fact, the manufacturer claims that Cerebria will provide real-world effects within 30 minutes, and can “unlock 100% of your brain’s potential” with continued use.

Because of this, Cerebria’s manufacturer claims that they’ve sold more than 26 million capsules this month alone.

Whether you’re a student or a professional, it’s no secret that in order to get ahead, you have to stand out from the pack and word harder than the competition. But can Cerebria help you do this, or is it just hope in a bottle?

To fully explain, we’ll have to begin with the definition of a nootropic.

What is a Nootropic?

Nootropics are a relatively new class of nutritional supplements (the term was coined in 1972) that use a variety of ingredients intended to improve cognition and mental function.

Although nootropics gained their popularity on college campuses across the nation (as much as 25% of the student population have used them), they’ve recently started making their way into mainstream consciousness as well via online-only supplements like Cerebria, Brain Storm Elite, Neuroflexyn, Evo Brain Pill, and many more (we’ll come back to these shortly).

First, what does the word cognition even mean?

What is Cognition? Do Cerebria’s Ingredients Improve It?

About Psychology defines cognition as:

“The mental processes involved in gaining knowledge and comprehension. These processes include thinking, knowing, remembering, judging, and problem-solving. These are higher-level functions of the brain and encompass language, imagination, perception, and planning.”

In layman’s term, cognition references our ability to react to the world around us by learning and planning. And according to the supplement’s website, Cerebria uses a combination of tyrosine, alpha GPC, GABA, vinpocetine, bacopa monnieri, and huperzine a to accomplish this.

In daily doses of 150mg, tyrosine is listed as “possibly effective” for improving mental performance under stressful conditions and improving alertness following inadequate sleep.

In addition, 60mg+ per-day doses of vinpocetine may have a small effect on reduced cognition for Alzheimer’s patients, although the science showing this appears to rest on shaky ground.

Outside of this, there is insufficient clinical evidence available indicating that Cerebria’s ingredients can provide any of the benefits claimed by the manufacturer. And even for those that might, we’re not information how much of each ingredient is contained in Cerebria, or whether or not this would be enough to be effective.

Lack of effectiveness aside, are Cerebria’s ingredients dangerous?

Cerebria’s Side Effects

Although it might not work very well, for the most part, individuals taking Cerebria will not experience any noticeable side effects, other than mild digestive upset.

Up to this point, we’ve talked about what nootropics are and what cognition is, the ingredients found in Cerebria, as well as their side effects. Now, let’s review the company who makes the supplement.

The Company Behind Cerebria

Cerebria is brought to you by NSS Labs Ltd based out of London, England. An information security company in Austin, TX operates under a similar name, although they appear to be unaffiliated with Cerebria.

Outside of this, NSS Labs Ltd wasn’t listed with the Better Business Bureau at the time of our research, and no additional information was available about them online. In our opinion, any time a company wants to remain hidden, this should act as a red flag.

Red flag aside, what’ll a bottle of Cerebria cost you?

Cerebria Pricing & Refund Policy

Cerebria is available through three purchasing options:

  • 1 Bottle (60 capsules): $59.95 plus $ S&H
  • 3 Bottles: $119.91 plus free S&H
  • 5 Bottles: $149.85 plus free S&H

Fortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any kind of so-called “free” trial or recurring automatic shipments with Cerebria. In other words, you’ll be placing a one-time order only.

Regardless of your order quantity, Cerebria comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges, although this only applies to sealed, unopened bottles. If you open it, you own it.

Considering this, if you’d like to request a refund, you’ll need to contact NSS Labs’s customer service line at 888 884-1744.

Arbitration Could Make All the Difference

On top of the high prices, all Cerebria orders are subject to binding arbitration. Among other things, this means that if you were to experience any damages from using the supplement, you’re legal rights would be severely restricted, including becoming part of a trial by jury or a class action lawsuit.

Is Cerebria the Right Nootropic for You?

Although we’re ultimately told relatively little about Cerebria, we’ve reviewed many of the most popular nootropic supplements here at HighYa, which we outlined above. Between dozens of reader reviews for these products, they have an average rating of 1.5 stars, based primarily on complaints of failure to work as advertised, high prices, and poor customer service experiences (difficulty obtaining refunds, etc.).

And based on Cerebria’s list of ingredients and matching business practices, it’s our opinion that you’re likely to experience much of the same.

As such, instead of placing an order for Cerebria, we might recommend speaking with your physician about any memory or thinking problems you’re experiencing.
