I agree with all the same comments regarding turning your hair ginger/orange. However, I complained to JFM a few months ago via their website. They responded quite quickly and also apologized. They offered to send me a free bottle once they changed their formula. The bottle turned up in the post last week and the batch number starts with Z22. The outer packaging looks the same but the bottle itself is a different design. More importantly, the new formula hasn't turned my hair ginger/orange and over 3 days I've definitely noticed a positive change. Fingers crossed they get this new formula out in the shops ASAP.

Just like everyone else, I've been using this product for a couple of years and loved it, now it's a horrible yellow color and doesn't seem to work at reducing the grey. I made the mistake of sticking up with 4 bottles! Very dissatisfied.

My father has been using this shampoo for years and his hair was hardly grey and it was a great product. Recently, the formula has changed and his hair is turning a copper brown not black. Also, he had an extremely severe reaction to whatever was in the formula. His hair was itchy, his scalp was heavily wounded, red and sore, and he had some hair loss. He's been having this problem for more than 3 months. Will not be buying until the formula is changed.

GX Shampoo from Just For Men is really good. I used it three times already and less than a month, and it makes me look real good. I will buy nothing else. It's about time they come out for something for men; I hate looking old.

However, the "new formula" is dreadful, don't buy it, unless you want an orange/copper look.

Like others, I have been using this for years and was really impressed with the results. I have dark hair and grey around the sides so just used it for blending really.

Straightway noticed a different color of foam in the hair, sort of a red plum color, unlike the previous black. The box also now says this is for any shade of hair, whereas before you could get a version for dark hair. It doesn't work and I have left it on for longer than with the original formula, and yes, even my dark hair is getting a yellow golden tinge to it!

Don't get it. I can't find the original product for sale anywhere and the box design has changed several times since the new product was introduced, by the looks of it, I guess due to complaints to throw people off the scent. Bring back the original version or I think there may be a class action on the horizon!

So disappointing because this product was once really great.

Change of formula, now does not produce your original color. Makes your hair ginger. See lots of other comments. Worked well before. Please change it back to the previous recipe.

I was using this and it was great on my hair, a lovely dark gray for some two years, then someone pointed out that my hair was going red. I wish you would explain to me what happened to a great product I no longer use.

I’ve been using this product for a number of years now and was always very happy with the results. About 6 months ago I noticed that the whole experience of using the shampoo had altered and the resulting effect is noticeably poorer. In fact, there is virtually no effect whatsoever.

I reviewed this when there was a problem with people ending up with orange hair! I've just received my promised replacement. But a bit nervous to try it. I've scanned down and see that one person has and it appears that it may work. Was wondering if anyone else has been brave enough?

This product does work. It takes several uses because it does the color change slowly and naturally. I wear rubber gloves when applying. I am a female and it works great on my hair, but a male friend uses it also, which is the reason I tried it.

But anyway, it works great!

I wrote to the company and they dismissed my claims. Have since stopped using it. Avoid unless you want to have orange hair.

Been using this product for a few years and always had a great effect. Since late last year, I notice the familiar purple water no longer appears when I wash my hair and the darkening effect has been replaced with an orange tint. I thought I'd gotten a bad batch and tried another one from another shop but the results were the same! My hair now looks completely fake and it's frankly embarrassing. I'm going to have to stop using it. Have they changed the formula or something? And if so, why!?

New formula is not working. I have been using Control GX over 2 years. A few months ago you changed the formula, no more dark water during rinsing, which is good but not changing the grey hair to dark.

I will look for other products.

Just For Men Control GX Shampoo has changed its original formula to make it more profitable to the company. It has turned its back on its loyal customers for a profit.

What one or two shampoos accomplished now will not. They have changed the shampoo to cover way less with more uses to make its loyal customers spend time and efforts with less success in order for the believing customer spend needless time, effort, and funds with very little satisfaction. Do not purchase this product, instead, look at its competitors and you will get better results.

I started going gray early, starting at 26 and really gray at 46. I didn’t mind it so much because it was a mix color. At 49 I was just super gray with all my hair. I figured I’d try this.

After 2 uses it brought a lot of my hair back to brown. My temples remained a bit gray but it didn’t bother me. Honestly, since I didn’t want drastic change, I use it only once every 3 weeks and it gives me enough color to feel like I did at 35. If I use it too much, especially in summer, it seemed like the color caused my hair strands to bind together a bit, kinda weighing my hair down, which is why I don’t like to overdo it. In fact, using it once, letting it be for 3 days, seems to allow it to comb through even more. It might be why some people report hair loss. It’s not really hair loss, rather your hair will weigh down a bit after first used but it gets better just normal showering a couple of days after. So I suggest using it once every 3 days at first then stop for a couple of weeks and see how you like it. I go 3 weeks between use. Do exactly as the instructions say, leaving it in a minute. Use palms to massage it in it will slightly discolor nails temporarily.
