About Copper Fit Speed Sleeves
Copper Fit Speed Sleeves feature advanced copper-infused compression that can help support your calf muscles and joints and reduce recovery time. You can even expect to experience reduced pain, increased blood flow, and improved endurance.
You probably noticed that the company makes a lot of big claims about Copper Fit Speed Sleeves, including that they can help you “leave behind the pain and gain the edge,” help you “go all out,” “provide results,” and deliver “dramatic improvement.” Is this what you can really expect? What does all of this mean, anyway?
Before handing over your hard-earned money for Copper Fit Speed Sleeves, we think there are some important things you should know, all of which we’ll cover in this review. To begin, let’s take a real-world look at how these compression sleeves work and what kinds of real-world results you can expect.
What’s the Secret Behind Copper Fit Speed Sleeves?
Compression garments have a fairly lengthy history, having been used in medicine for decades to help improve venous function (i.e. boost blood flow), speed up wound healing, reducing the likelihood of a blood clot, and more.
More recently, however, the basic idea behind these garments has made their way to consumer-grade compression wear, including products like Copper Fit Speed Sleeve. The primary differences between these medical and consumer-grade products is that the former provide strict levels of compression (measured in mmHg) in very specific areas, while the latter provide a much looser fit and no focused compression. What’s this mean for you?
As we detailed in The Science of Compression Wear, while there is some evidence showing that consumer compression garments can reduce muscle recovery time after strenuous exercise, there isn’t enough evidence to support Copper Fit’s claims that Speed Sleeves can reduce pain or increase endurance.
Pro tip: To this extent, the company’s claims that Speed Sleeves can help you “go all out,” “provide results,” and deliver “dramatic improvement” are so vague that there’s no way to pin down what they’re really saying. In our opinion, it doesn’t amount to much more than creative marketing spin.
Speaking of which, let’s talk about the copper contained in Speed Sleeves.
Will the Copper in Speed Sleeves Provide Any Benefits?
When it comes to compression wear like Speed Sleeves, it’s fairly common for them to contain copper. Copper has been used for thousands of years as an antibacterial agent, which, when it comes to Speed Sleeves, can help reduce unwanted odors.
Here’s where we think Copper Fit’s manufacturer comes up with some more creative marketing:
“CopperFit™ Speed Sleeves use advanced compression technology with copper ions to support your muscles and joints, reduce pain, increase blood flow and improve your endurance.”
Based on how it’s worded, might be easy to believe the company’s claiming that copper ions can provide all of these benefits. But in reality, based on our opinion, it may not do absolutely everything of the sort.
What if we were to remove copper from the equation? How would Copper Fit Speed Sleeves stack up against the competition?
Are There Other Products Like Speed Sleeves?
Although Speed Sleeve’s compression and copper might only provide limited benefits, one thing’s for certain: if you’re in the market for a compression calf sleeve, you’ve got dozens of options to choose from.
Want to see for yourself? Just type the phrase “compression calf sleeve” into any search engine, and watch all the results pull up. Need even more of a reason to search around? Whether online or at your local sporting goods store, you’ll find that much of the competition is less expensive than Speed Sleeves.
How Much Do Copper Fit Speed Sleeves Cost?
Two Copper Fit Speed Sleeves (available in small/medium or large/extra large sizes) are priced at $19.99 plus free shipping.
All Speed Sleeves come with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges.
Pro tip: When you consider that some other calf sleeves can be purchased for under $10, it might be worth your time to shop around before placing your order. Granted, most of these options won’t contain bacteria-fighting copper, but as long as you wash your sleeves after each use, this shouldn’t be too much of a concern.
Nonetheless, if you’d like to return your Copper Fit Speed Sleeves, you’ll need to call Idea Village customer service at 855-818-8300.
A Word About Idea Village’s Arbitration Agreement
Keep in mind that all Speed Sleeves orders are automatically bound to an arbitration agreement. What’s this? Basically, it means that instead of taking the company to court, you’ll have to attend independent arbitration proceedings, which are generally thought to favor the company.
Will Copper Fit Speed Sleeves “Maximize Your Performance”?
As we mentioned above, we think Speed Sleeves’ manufacturer uses some creative marketing jargon on their website. For example, what does “performance” even mean? Will you be faster? Able to last longer? Jump higher? Furthermore, what does “maximize” reference? Specifically, how is “maximum” measured?
Based on what we’ve discussed here though, other than the copper-infused fibers for bacteria reduction, there doesn’t seem to be anything especially unique about Copper Fit Speed Sleeves that you wouldn’t find in most other compression calf sleeves. And considering that the Copper Fit line has 181 customer reviews and an average rating of 2.5 stars here on HighYa—most of which reference failure to provide results and poor quality. That said, to us who have watched the commercial as consumers, it appears that the Speed Sleeves may provide some benefit, but it may not be something revolutionary and isn't something that's not already sold in stores. We would recommend possibly exploring additional options and comparing it with Copper Sleeves before making the final decision.

CANCELLED ORDER: Odered 4 months ago and still no product
Why do they keep taking orders with no product? Ordered mid April 2016 and more than 4 months later still no product delivered. Called every month and was given new delivery date each time. However, the dates kept passing with no product delivered. Bought a different brand at the local sporting good store that works great.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
