About Coverage by Jerome Alexander
With regular use, CoverAge by Jerome Alexander is a 5-in-1 under eye treatment and concealer that promises you can “Say Goodbye!” to dark circles and puffiness.
Whether you’re born with under-eye bags that could carry home groceries, or just enduring a particularly stressful, sodium-filled, or sleepless period, the appearance of dark circles and puffiness is universally hated by men and women alike.
And unlike a handsome nose, quirky gap-toothed smile, or unconventional feature that we can grow to love about ourselves with time (or to keep camouflaging), under eye circles are the target of a wide variety of topical treatments, dietary changes, and even surgeries.
So, any product that promises to not only conceal—but possibly cure—uneven under eye woes is worth a second look.
Who’s Making CoverAge?
Jerome Alexander, an As-Seen-On-TV makeup artist from mid-nineties era infomercials, has been branding himself as both an international phenomenon and a household name since 1968.
With his namesake brand, Alexander promises CoverAge will provide women with “solutions to their makeup needs with products that perform.”
And while he may not necessarily be a name in every household, each one of Jerome Alexander’s reasonably priced products receive excellent reviews & 4-5 star ratings in their Amazon reviews.
What CoverAge by Jerome Alexander Promises
CoverAge is said to be a creamy concealer and treatment rolled into one. On top of being a healthy moisturizer for your delicate under eye skin, it’s claimed to replace five beauty products in your regular rotation:
- Color corrector
- Fine line reducer
What Ingredients Does CoverAge Contain?
The CoverAge product itself is said to contain “clinical levels” of five skincare ingredients:
- Hyaluronic Acid for moisture. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that is proven to help keep your skin plump with moisture.
- Argireline is a peptide that is proven to produce a mild and temporary, Botox-like effect to reduce lines and wrinkles.
- Matrixyl 3000, which is a trademarked peptide that promises to stimulate collagen, is included to relax wrinkles and improve elasticity. However, research turns up more marketing claims than it does substantial clinical results.
- Algae has long been used in homeopathic skin care for the temporary tightening effect it has on skin.
- Shea Butter is a popular, naturally-derived moisturizer that’s most commonly found in stretch mark preventative skin creams, due to its rich moisturizing qualities.
What You Get with CoverAge Products
For $19.99 (plus shipping & handling) you’ll receive:
- Rollerball (bonus gift)
Those who order but dislike the product have 60 days to return it for a money back guarantee.
Note: The one “feature” of CoverAge that’s glaringly absent is a lack of color options for different skin tones. The online advertisement completely breezes over the idea that some consumers do not have pink-yellow under eye areas. I followed the order options up to the end, and at no point were alternative tones offered.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Despite over 40 years on the market, there are a minimal number of Youtube or beauty blogger reviews for Jerome Alexander products, including CoverAge. This brand is so far under the radar that the gurus over at Makeup Alley haven’t even heard of it.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth a shot. As previously mentioned, the Amazon reviews that do exist are all very favorable. However, those are all pertaining to Jerome Alexander’s other makeup kits and mineral makeup line, not his CoverAge line.
Anyone who’s ever used an under eye concealer can attest that it’s a fairly forgiving product that risks being cakey and thick instead of not thick enough. Because CoverAge isn’t sold anywhere but through their website and reviews are non-existent, it’s impossible to know more about the product’s consistency after being applied.
The Final Say on CoverAge by Jerome Alexander
The one aspect of CoverAge that seems severely lacking is probably the most important for every user, with the exception of the fairest complexions. While the product’s video does show a woman of color applying it, personal experience with under eye concealers has taught me that skin tone matching is a fairly important aspect of the whole “blends right into your skin” promise.
But for those with fair complexions or a deft blending-finger, the ingredients listed in CoverAge check out as offering improved skin tone and texture. The hyaluronic acid and peptides have been shown to make an actual difference to the firmness of under eye skin with prolonged usage, and its moisturizing ingredients are good enough to maintain softness.
While calling the product a “cure for under eye circles” seems like marketing hyperbole, if you’re looking to cover up and slightly reduce the look of fine lines, this could be the product for you.
Perhaps if those of the proper hue order enough, they’ll expand the line to meet the skin tones of the rest of us.

Unfortunately extremely unhappy
Last year I purchased three Magic Mineral Powder (item number 020810). After I purchased them I didn't realize they were made in China. Their new product doesn't say it is made in China, but their old one says it. You should b ashamed of yourself, Jerome Alexander, your product is still made in China, not Florida.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I am a woman of color and I purchased the Coverage by Jerome Alexander and I must say that I love it. There are times you purchase concealers and they do not match, this one works wonderful on my skin tone. I really don't think i will ever purchase any other concealer as this is the best one I've used thus far and I am in my mid-fifties. Thanks for such a wonderful product.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I've been using this for a few months. I love how smooth it goes on and keeps my under eye area hydrated. Because of dark circles I still have to apply a small amount of heavy duty concealer over it, but because it makes such a smooth surface for the other concealer it is worth every penny. Otherwise my other concealer becomes cracked looking and flaky during the day. I will definitely purchase this again.
