About Dermalogica

Founded in 1986 by Jane Wurwand, Dermalogica is a brand of professional skincare products that uses only the highest quality ingredients to treat a wide variety of skin concerns, and to improve skin health. Dermalogica claims that its approach to skincare is to focus on skin health, rather than “beauty,” which they accomplish by avoiding “common irritants and ingredients that could cause breakouts (including lanolin, SD alcohol, mineral oil, artificial colors and fragrances).”

Dermalogica is a privately owned company based out of Carson, CA, and has offices in more than 50 countries around the world. As such, the company claims that their products are used at spas and salons all over the globe, and that they are a dermatologist-favorite. All Dermalogica’s award-winning products are manufactured in Southern California, including:

  • Anti-aging
  • Cleansers
  • Exfoliants
  • Masques
  • Toners
  • Eye treatments
  • Moisturizers

From a customer satisfaction standpoint, Dermalogica has more than 94,000 Facebook likes, many of which include positive comments, and only one complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau.

Dermalogica is Big on Education

Dermalogica’s founder, Jane Wurwand, started a continuing education school in 1983 that was focused on addressing the needs of skincare professionals. During this time, she recognized the need for products that embraced her views on skin health, so she started her own line, which would later become Dermalogica.

Today, Dermalogica’s site is a continuation of their vision to educate people about skin health, and includes quite a bit of useful information. The company does a great job of outlining the benefits of each of their products, their ingredients, and how to use them—including numerous videos.

Even before buying any of their products, the Dermalogica site recommends that you consult with an authorized skin treatment center, medispa, or salon, in order to ensure you choose a product that’s right for your skin.

Dermalogica Pricing, Shipping, & Return Policy

Dermalogica products range in price from $20 to more than $200, and orders greater than $50 come with free UPS shipping. Most products are shipped via Ground, though if you would like your product to arrive faster, you can pay for overnight shipping. Dermalogica rewards repeat purchases through their reward and loyalty program, which can provide a wide variety of benefits.

All Dermalogica skincare products come with a 30-day return policy, though this timeline begins from the purchase date. You’ll first need to have your return pre-approved by customer service, and there is no charge for return shipping. Once your item is received by Dermalogica, a full refund will be issued.

I love that brand, I used the clean start line for oily skin and breakouts. The face wash is great and I love the matte SPF 15 face lotion. No more greasy face.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    Oily skin

Hi, I am a 50 something mix-race woman. I never had acne until I hit my 30s. I tried nearly everything on the market for oily skin - some were well-known brands, others your average chemist brands. In March of 2018, I decided to treat my skin to a deep cleanse facial. The therapist recommended Dermalogica. At first, I was a bit skeptical as I thought she was just trying to get me to buy Dermalogica. I did buy the recommended skin products and I cannot put into words how absolutely fantastic Dermalogica is. Usually, when I'm going to breakout, I get a red blotch on my face, but no more since I've been using Dermalogica. My skin looks a whole lot clearer and smoother. One therapist commented on how soft my skin is. Dermalogica is fantastic beyond words.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
